AC Hotel by Marriott Portland Downtown/Waterfront, ME

Room was very clean, and stylish. Everything seemed relatively new and in good condition. I liked that there was plenty of seating available - couch, chair, benches under the tv. I also appreciated the mini fridge w/two complimentary waters. Bonus, that the hydration station was right next to our room & we used it to fill our water bottles several times. Location of the hotel was good, but at the far end of the Old Port area. I had originally booked the Aloft, at the other end of town, and I'm so glad we opted for the location of the AC Hotel. The staff was welcoming & friendly. We had a very early flight out, requiring a taxi at 4:15am, and they were helpful making it happen. The beds were pretty comfortable, and there were outlets with USBs next to both sides of the bed.

The shower water pressure could definitely be improved. I'm also not a fan of the frosted glass sliding bathroom door, as it lets light out into the room, when someone uses it in the middle of the night. A bit more privacy would be nice for people traveling as friends as well. A complimentary shuttle around downtown was only available on Sunday, and would have been nice for the other days we stayed there/

Perfect location: near Fore Street restaurant and Mercy Hospital. This was the cleanest and equal-best hotel room we have stayed in EVER. Loved it, even more than our first stay 1-1/2 years ago. Valet service way better than any other we’ve experienced.

Only the ludicrous pre-arrival early contactless check-in and even worse treatment by Customer Service Reservations when I called to confirm reservation I couldn’t and advise of Kate arrival.

The hotel was in a good location, close enough to downtown. The rooms were newer and had a more modern feel to them. The size of the room had plenty of space, which was a good surprise.

The elevator was kinda in a strange location, which caused a slight pause when leaving the room. The floors are not carpeted, which showed some dust and hair.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent. The bar and lobby are very nice. The valet service is very nice.

The only thing I can say is the rooms are not well insalated. You can hear everything in the halls. Was woken up at 5am by kids running and yelling down the halls. The heater is also very noisy. Other than that, I would deffiently stay here again.

no bikes for guests, unlike other hotels; fit and finish was cheap - door in the shower broken; suite was large but space poorly utilised; body wash not refilled by housekeeping, location isn’t great for tourists as there isn’t much nearby; breakfast isn’t good.

Clean, modern lines. Everyone was very nice, workout room was well done.

The lack of microwave, and while the sliding door to the bathroom was really cool, there was enough space and mirrors placed in such a way that one can see whoever is in the shower while sitting on a bed.

The location was very convenient for walking to restaurants and shops. We could not have been happier that we upgraded to a room with a water view—there is not another Old Port hotel that rivals the unimpeded sight of Casco Bay.

No auxiliary heat source in the bathroom. The bathroom also lacked a wall mounted swing-out mirror for checking hair at the back of your head after you’ve blow dried it. There was a malfunctioning switch in the hallway between the closet and bathroom, so none of the 3 ceiling bulbs turned on. Unlike other AC properties, this only had very limited grab and go breakfast on offer.

The room itself was spacious and nice. The shower was great and the bed comfortable. We did have an angled view of the water. Great location for our activities in Portland.

Some odd things like the sink didn't drain very well (by design) and the hallway door didn't shut automatically (left it open by accident once) and the air conditioning coming on/off was noisy. Overall, it was too expensive! We had a gift certificate to stay here and it didn't even cover half the cost of the room :-(. Though nice accommodations, we would be unlikely to return due to the cost.

Location was excellent, could walk everywhere. Being a dog friendly hotel it was much cleaner than I would have thought. Did not have the hotel breakfast, enjoyed other points of interest for that. Loved that the bar was open for happy hour and even after our dinners!

Was very surprised there was not much drawer space or hangers for clothes. Also there was no makeup mirror.

I liked the modern decor and the location was great. I also liked the fact that check out was at noon so we did not have to rush to leave and could go out for breakfast and return to pack up and leave.

The closet in the room was a bit small. It was okay since we were staying for only a couple of nights but it would not have worked for us had we been staying longer and had more clothing to store
