Super 8 by Wyndham Portland/Westbrook Area

It was so great to wake up to a grab and go breakfast offered in the Lobby every morning. Great assortment of bagels,yogurt,muffins, breakfastbars,wrapped pasteries,dry cereal,assortment of packaged oatmeal,juice,bottled water,cartons of 1%milk. Breakfast was a plus to start the day. Saved from having to order out all the time.🤗

Very close to the Maine turnpike; friendly staff at check-in and check-out; room was clean; bed was comfortable. This is a basic hotel, no frills. But it is a basic price, about $90 for the night. We got a quick confirmation while on the road.

Breakfast is pretty basic, but we couldn't expect a lot for the price. That is all. The rest was fine for a night.

Decent breakfast offerings, great location

Pool was closed. Was a big disappointment as it was listed in available amenities. Carpet in ground floor room felt constantly damp, (although clean) but upstairs did not have this issue. I also found when I extended my stay that you have to be clear what you want from the room. First room had fridge with freezer and microwave, second room had neither. I returned to the desk and paid for the upgraded room, but that fridge didn't have a freezer.

The staff was great! I accidentally left a few shirts in the room as I packed up and waited for a ride. The cleaning crew found them, notified the front desk, and got them to me before I left.

The Super 8 hotel did not smell that good throughout the facility and especially inside my room. Perhaps the carpet and linens should be cleaned more often with better scents. Maybe the air needs to be spray more often.

The property itself is not upgraded however it was clean and we had a great stay. The best part about our stay was the amazing staff. They were so attentive and kind. They joked around with our kids and made them feel comfortable. Due to our family size the house keepers made sure we always had extra toilet paper, towels etc. they respected our privacy on not wanting anyone in our room but made sure to leave everything we needed outside our door without us even having to ask.

The only think that was hard was the size of the beds, would have loved to have an option for 2 queen beds instead of just full beds.

Convenient to one of my favorite restaurants

When checking in the manager on duty wasn’t very friendly unlike my previous stays. I have stayed there many times and the staff is what made me come back. The change of shit the new manger was very friendly so I will go back again because of her.

We generally like hotels with more room in the bedroom and a more upscale aspect. However, we need a place to stay. For its value, the Super 8 was very nice. Staff were attentive. We had an enjoyable stay.

Rear door apparently wasn't functioning correctly. was left on open.

I felt very much welcomed upon arrival. Centrally located with several eateries around. Market Basket was within walking distance.

To be honest. I was just happy to be there.

The rooms were a nice size.. clean and close to nearby tourist attractions. We've stayed at a Super 8 before at a different location, and it was another opportunity to stay at a chain hotel. We had a nice stay and will be glad to book again when back in town!

Thankfully I had called to make sure we had both our reservations, however, one of our reservations was given away by accident from a morning front desk rep. However, I got lucky with the rep running the front desk late at night when we arrived who was able to fix the situation and rebook us back for the room. Thank you!

I don't know why this place has such low ratings. I thought the the property was very conveniently located, very close to Portland and at a very good price point. The room was large, bathroom clean and beds very comfortable ( a lot more comfortable than a lot of snooty expensive hotels in NYC!!!). What else do you need form a hotel room?
