Battery Wharf Hotel, Boston Waterfront

The pro is also kind of a con: we booked a double queen but they were out by the time we checked in. Without telling me, they upgraded us to the presidential suite. On paper that sounds amazing--and the view was--but in reality it meant that there was only one bed for four of us, so they had to bring in two rolling twin beds for my kids. I will say the view, patio, and additional living spaces (not to mention closable doors for privacy!) made it worthwhile, but I would have loved some advance notice, even at check-in.

We booked a double queen three months in advance. Come check in, they didn't have any to offer and so my kids had to sleep on two pull out beds. They upgraded the room, but it was frustrating that they couldn't deliver on a three-month request.

The check-in process was quick and easy. The valet was also quick and easy. When I booked the room on booking.com, I mentioned that it was our 25th wedding anniversary, but didn't request anything. We've lived in New England our whole lives and have been to Boston many times, but had never heard of the Battery Waterfront Hotel before. When we checked-in, again we didn't mention anything, but we were notified that we were upgraded to a suite on the water, which was awesome! The room was great with a great view. The neighborhood was so quiet, you'd barely know you were in the city. Even if we hadn't had the nice upgrade, we thought the room rates were very reasonable, given the location (granted it was a Monday night, but still). We were in town for a concert at Fenway Park and even the cab ride called for by the valet was relatively quick and easy. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant in the morning, which was very good. Check-out was very easy as was the valet. We would definitely stay there again, especially if we were in town for a Bruins game or other event at the Garden as it's an easy walk to there. Almost ninety bucks for breakfast for two was steep, but the food was good, it was our 25th anniversary, it was convenient, and we had received the nice upgrade, so we sprung for it anyway. On a less special occasion we probably would've walked into the North End and found something cheaper.

The hotel was in a great location to where we were going. Easy to walk to the other destinations. Room was fantastic with a great view!

Called a few days in advance for an early check in. Reservations department said that the front desk staff would have to answer to the request within 24-48 hours via phone call. No follow up call. Upon another call back, reservations said again that the front desk makes those arrangements. After speaking with someone at the front desk, they stated that reservations department are supposed to make the early check in reservations. Very confusing and frustrating!

wow, what a fabulous hotel this is. the room was very comfortable and clean, the reception team were friendly and helpful and the view was great. the location was perfect. situated in a very safe area and a short stroll to some wonderful restaurants and to the freedom trail. the hotel offers a valet car parking service too which was efficient. i was really impressed with this hotel.. excellent excellent excellent

it wasn’t clear to us at first if we had breakfast included or not, only when we sat down and saw the prices !! we apologised and walked a short distance to find something more in our budget.. other than that, this hotel was perfect and would 100% be where i stay on my next visit to Boston.

This is the best location for a stay in Boston. Great facility and beautiful spot on the waterfront. Close to the North End and lots of restaurants and attractions within easy walking distance. Tucked away from the madness of the city yet so convenient to everything.

The bar/bartender was very personable but the restaurant could use a refresh. There’s a lot of restaurants and coffee shops nearby which makes up for adequate food service at the hotel.

It was a beautiful room with plenty of space and a good view over the waterfront--one of the few (two?) rooms at the hotel with a balcony. The balcony was a delight. Great location too!

The one thing we didn't like about the room could actually have been dangerous. The furniture was selected and arranged in such a way that the door to the bathroom was blocked by the corner of a major, immovable piece of furniture, leaving an opening no more than about 8 inches wide to squeeze by in order to get to the bathroom. Try that in the dark in the middle of the night! It's hard to believe this was allowed by code--much less by common sense.

The rooms very close together as requested and with water views... very comfortable, clean and well equipped rooms... however, slightly worn around the edges... running toilet, broken lamp, tempramental coffeemaker... but not really deal killers since they could be easily rectified... we didnt bother to complain since we were there only a couple of days... great location overall... walking distance to almost all sights... close to restaurants and bars in the North End... and only a ten minute walk from City Center... nice view from hotel rooms over looking harbour... friendly front desk and house keepers... nice little bar and restaurant... food was very good but pricey... but that is to be expected in the middle of a major city... overall a nice stay andwe would come back to this hotel...

The service was wonderful, welcoming and attentive. The bed was extremely comfortable and the separate bathtub was a luxury as well. Our view over the water made our Boston visit so much more present. The location in the heart of the North End was easily accessible to anything we could have asked for.

Our only complaints were minor-the fountainhead shower wasn’t working and the location of the bedroom tv was not easy to watch from bed, however we did not even turn it on so it wasn’t a complaint. The couch in the sitting room was not the most comfy but also wasn’t intolerable.

The room was big as was the bed. The heating was sufficient, making the room pleasantly warm when we stayed in March. We also had a fine view from the window. When we arrived, we found out that the toilet was broken and the hotel staff reacted fast to that, fixing it within the next hour.

There are no slippers and no bathrobes, which maybe is normal for hotels in the US, but would have been good to have at least one of the two given the 4 stars. The toilet was broken when we arrived.

great location. Walking distance to TD garden. Room size nice, bed comfortable, large bathroom. Staff was helpful and friendly

I think a little more attention to detail for cleaning- a few stains on walls and on platform bedframe. We had to change rooms as the facet leaked in bathroom (which was done right away)- the room we switched to was also nice. No one at front desk in the am (5:30 am) when we were checking out so I couldn't review my invoice/charges. Sent an email to them requesting the invoice (nothing yet).
