The two breakfasts we had were excellent. Everything was homemade and truly special. The innkeeper, David, was an excellent host. He made and served breakfast, and he gave us excellent restaurant recommendations.

There was no air conditioning (which was probably in the description, but we made a fairly last minute booking snd may not have read everything carefully). We had no trouble without air conditioning, but it may be a factor in the middle of summer. It's a very old inn which is definitely part of its charm, but guests should be aware that the floors creak.

The house is stunningly beautiful - the owner, David, told is that it was built in 1764! You can tell the owners put a lot of love and care into maintaining the building. It is simply gorgeous. What we loved the most was how well we felt taken care of. Breakfast was two courses of home-cooked meals, which were absolutely delicious. David made sure everyone felt at home and comfortable. Unfortunately I forgot the name of the person who cooked that wonderful Panettone casserole, but David if you read this, please let him know that we loved it!

Really *the only* thing that comes to mind is the water pressure in our shower. It was very, very strong, to the point where it was a bit uncomfortable on the skin. Everything else was great!

So nice to see that the original 18th-century wide-plank floorboards and fireplaces were kept to retain the authenticity of this quaint lodging venue! Hosts David and Trevan were very accommodating in every respect which made our stay with another couple here quite memorable. The breakfasts served daily could have been taken right from the cover of Bon Appétit Magazine! How about casserole-baked eggs in butter and cream, seasoned with herbs de Provence accompanied by pastry-dough strips, spiraled around bacon and cheese, sprinkled with sesame seeds, and baked to fluffy perfection? Fresh fruit and pastry started off each morning...

If I HAD to come up with something for this review category, it would probably be that our particular room had a relatively small shower stall. HOWEVER, the superb water pressure combined with the well-matched shower head made for quite an invigorating dunk!

The host treated us as friends. When we walked through the door we felt like we were walking into a friends house. The B&B is loaded with history starting with the 1764 build date with links to the Revolutionary War and the Underground Railroad. Breakfasts were like dining in a 5 star restaurant. Very imaginative and delicious. These chefs/hosts could work in any 5 star restaurant and be a hit. The room was well set up and very comfortable. Best B&B, close to many eateries and the sights of New Hampshire. The host made great suggestions as to where to eat and sightsee. Highlight of our trip!!

Love that David has such an embrace for the unique Early American History of the house! So glad to share with him an appreciation for the tales he imparted of the building's direct correlation to the founding of,this Nation of possibilities. Breakfast was a delight. Came to the area to participate in a local wedding, and captivated my family with pictures of the breakfast scenes. What a precious treat it was!

The place is easy to locate, though a bit far away from core area of White Mountain. It is a renovated old building with more than a hundred years history, and the lovely outside garden is a wonderful place for chatting with friends or family while enjoying the scenic. The room is cozy and clean. Home-made breakfast is far above our expectation. We feel like having our break fast at a 5star hotel. And the host is friendly and always ready to give us advice.

AC is not powerful enough during very hot days and a bit noisy。But the other aspects are perfect.

The Inn Keeper Dave was very friendly and made my stay a unique experience. The Inn is a historic New Enland Inn that is cozy and has antique charm. The "Fox" room is comfortable, but is small by most modern hotel standards. Not too much room if you were planning to setup a day of in room computer activities for work. Has a great common sitting area with a well stocked library and games. Dinning area is welcoming and setup to encourage conversations. It has a beautiful garden and comfortable outdoor sitting area.

There were no issues.

I cannot give enough praise to the Colonel Spencer Inn. The innkeeper met me at the door with such a kind and welcoming disposition. He gave me a tour of the home while enlightening me about the history. He also made it clear that this stay was to feel like home. Knowing I’d be getting up to hike long before breakfast was served, he made up a special bag for the morning so I didn’t go hungry. This included a DELICIOUS muffin and gingerbread (which I assume was house-made). One of the best lodging experiences in my memory.

Loved the building itself, the period decor, the comfortable room and atmosphere, and most especially the breakfast!

My biggest complaint is more on me than the property, but those back stairs to our room were killer. Not a game changer, I would still stay again and recommend this inn. The stairs were the only reason I didn't give it a solid 10.
