Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Meadowlands Area, an IHG Hotel

Good hot breakfast and the lady working in this area was really lovely. Enjoyed the eggs and pancakes. Clean big rooms. The beds were comfortable though they should get better pillows, as they were not. Enjoyed having a bath in the room. The bus was easy to use to get into NYC (Times Square), just gave the driver $9 cash per adult for a return ticket (keep in mind they won't accept notes bigger than $20). Would recommend busing into NYC and then using the subways as it's not going to save you any time or money driving in. However, if you have a car there are lots of fast food places a couple of minutes drive away from the hotel for an easy evening dinner.

Giving 8/10 stars due to: Communications with the hotel prior to our stay - asked a couple of questions with no response. We originally got assigned the wrong room and then got left a note saying we might have to change again which was stressful and not what you want on a six-night trip, had already unpacked. Our key cards stopped working multiple times during our stay. Minor things but just added unnecessary stress both before and during the trip. Also, heads up the pool is quite small, if you don't have it to yourself (which didn't happen during our stay) it's quite unpleasant.

My reservation was for 2 rooms and when I got to the hotel they told me that there was only one room that was reserved and that they had no more rooms available for rent later when I checked my bank account and I got two charges for the same amount when I asked why ? They told me that a manager was going to review this problem that no double charge appeared to them, no manager ever reviewed that problem, when I checked out and asked again about the double charge they gave me the receipt and only told me that any amount apart it will be refunded to my account I still waiting for my refund.

Breakfast was disappointing

My 1st 3 nights were in a nice large room. I asked to have the same room when I returned several days later, because of my claustrophobia but I was given a tiny room next to the utility closet. I felt like I was in a closet.

Location to the stadium

Front desk didn't tell us about the coffee station or breakfast times. Only told we missed breakfast because it was already over when we came down stairs and saw the coffee station at checkout which we would of definitely taken advantage of after a 3 hour car ride there! Room had a coffee maker but only had DECAF One of the smallest king rooms I've ever seen and the toilet didn't flush properly (would run for like 10mins after flushing) but it was only one night to prevent driving 3 hours home after a late giants game so we didn't stress it.

clean, good housekeeping spacious rooms, alright breakfast and staff taking good care of filling up and cleanliness. Staff at desk competent and friendly. Price was better than surrounding hotels of same category but still prices have come up quite a bit.

poor gym, in a crammed little room with a couple of oldish treadmills and incomplete set of barbells. Pool very uninviting. Breakfast space too small.

The staff was extremely courteous and accommodating. A special thanks to Jennifer, Jatnna and Drhuu. In addition, the room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. I truly enjoyed my one-night stay. Looking forward to staying at a Holiday Inn Express & Suites or other IHG hotel in the near future. Thank you!

My only complaint was I didn't get the handicap accessible room I requested in my reservation and was told that I would be accommodated.

The staff was very nice and helpful if we had questions or needed anything. The hotel was clean. I love a late afternoon/evening coffee and there was always hot coffee in the lobby.

The pool was small and heavily chlorinated. I couldn't sit in there to watch the kids for long without my eyes burning. There were only 6 chairs by the pool and were usually occupied.

Location. Close to the American Dream mall which has so many things to do there. Check in was easy and front desk staff helpful and courteous. Breakfast was great. My kids and I really enjoyed it. Unlimiyed coffee 24 hrs/day. The building was quiet and clean. Restaurants nearby. Also I like that they give you things like toothpaste and toothbrushes if you forget yours.

Overall it was a pleasant experience. I recently stayed for 2 nights (Sat-Mon) with my children. They charged my card twice but fixed the problem within a couple of days. Our room came with only 2 towels although we booked stay for 4 people. I called for the other 2 towels and waited a while but still never got them. Had to go down to get them ourselves and the ones we got were much thinner than the ones in the room. We stayed 2 nights and our first night (Saturday) we heard loud music playing outside all night. Might have been coming from the Mexican restaurant next door.
