DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport

Well, we arrive to La Guardia International Airport, and we did not know the hotel does not pick up people from there, so, we had to pay $156.00 to get to the hotel. I called multiple times to ask at the hotel staff about the transportation, but no body put attention what I was saying about "We arrived at La Guardia" we wait there one hour until someone who answered cached what I was saying since the beginning and finally she told me Double tree by Hilton doesn't pick uppeople from La Guardia. The room was good, if there was free breakfast, we did not know anybody told us.

There is not enough drinking water in the room, only two bottles, one for me and one for my husband. We asked one of the receptionists on the second day for water and she unkindly replied "didn't you get one for each of you in the room?" we said "Yes" she said "Well that's all you can get for free, I'll give you one more for each but if you need more it will be $3.00 each"

Comfortable, close to airport,and clean. Good transport from terminals. Long-term parking helpful

THIS WAS A BIG PROBLEM: On their in-house cable system, the Fox News Handel is the ONLY prominent “information” source. The selection marked MSNBC has been been replaced with the children’s programming in the morning when I am most interested in information I can trust, not conspiracy theories. This will impact my staying in any future Doubletrees by Hilton! Are they all this exclusionary?? Furthermore, I will tell all my fellow-traveling friends.

I absolutely loved and appreciated the staffs effort to accommodate my extremely early 5am arrival on a red eye. They made sure I had a room to stay in and when the room wasn't my preference Rocco the night shift manager went above and beyond his job to assist in getting me a new room. He was absolutely awesome. He also checked in with me every single day during my stay to make sure everything was okay and I had all that I needed.

I didn't like that only their executive suites had stand in showers. All other rooms had tubs.

It was lovely and the shuttles were a great help. The staff were friendly and helpful

The soda/vending machines in my floor didn't work and the 1 I found on another floor had hot drinks. The extras and such were out of my price range. I expected a more spacious room for what I paid, but then I realized I was in Jersey and close to an airport so businesses love to charge more in those areas.

pool was great the kids loved it

parking was a bit of a nightmare if you came back to late the parking lot was liable to have no parking spots left forcing you to park illegally which they approved but put your car in but of sketchy situation. Also I pad for overnight parking and my key never worked to let me out of the gate once was was super inconvenient

Hotel staff was friendly, the room spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable. We had booked this hotel because they had a nice crib for our 2 years old granddaughter. We had to stay overnight after waiting many hours in the line for a Corona rapid EXPRESCHECK test at Newark airport. So our family missed their plane. Then we discovered that MEDTECH company was testing for Covid in a lounge in the hotel. What a relief and joy! No line waiting! The rapid Covid test was professionally performed with certificate. It was great that it could be done in this hotel! We would definitely like to stay again here when we need to travel from Newark.

Everything was fine. But we ordered breakfast in the morning. They have no room service at the moment. But you can order breakfast at the bar near the reception.

overall stay is very nice. it's a nice looking hotel. with rooms looking very stylishly over the atrium

avoid getting rooms facing the atrium. the pool closes at 7 or 8, but then they contract it out. even the slightest noise is echoed throughout the hotel. disappointing and disturbing the nights' slumber, but overall the hotel is very nice.

This was a brief overnight stay between flights. I didn't get in until after 2 p.m., slept, woke up and left for my next flight, so I didn't have much chance to experience anything beyond the bed. They did accommodate my getting in late (my landing was majorly delayed by storms), though I had to go through booking.com to inform them that I would be late. That is, I was unable to get a live person on the phone when I tried to call to let them know that my flight had been diverted to Richmond, VA for refueling. Booking.com was very helpful with that aspect of the reservation. Good cookie there at check-in, which was nice, as I was really hungry!

This hotel was amazing it was everything that I wanted in a hotel from cleanliness, to staff being nice, to a beautiful pool, to having a restaurant, having a lounge, just was everything that I wanted when booking a hotel

I didn’t like that the property did not have a really good food menu and that the pool closed very early and open up late

The room was very clean and more than expected. Resturant was very good with a great variety. Everyone was very polite and able to answer all guestions. Was glad they contracted with a company to shuttle to cruise port.

There really was nothing I found wrong or could be improved on
