The Dalles Inn

Spacious, lots of parking, nice staff, tasty snacks in the mornings. Water pressure was ok and the shower head was tall enough for a 6 foot person to fit under easily. Good location close to a bakery and several coffee drivethroughs.

Didn't like waiting outside in 20 degree weather for someone to come let me in when coming in late - front and back doors were locked after 9pm. If you are not going to provide a card scanner on the door, then at least put a sign by the broken doorbell to let people know it's necessary to bang on the glass windows to get someone's attention. It would have been nice to have a light over the desk/working area.

We loved the location and the hotel being pet friendly was a huge plus! Our dog wasn't allowed in the main building (big dog) but the other building was incredibly quiet and easy to get to/from. The Dalles was definitely warm but the Air Conditioning in the unit made us forget all about the heat.

I was bummed the pool was not even close to being open but just north towards the river was the local swimming hole/dock. It being Saturday it was a bit of a hotspot and great place to cool down. Dog loved it too!

Night time staff was amazing. Young man at front desk was so nice and helpful. Grumpy old man in the morning was not nice. Rude about having to get more milk for cereal and then rude because someone left half a container of milk in the ice and asked me if I did that. He needs some customer service training.

Breakfast was just set out in blue bins with ice. Milk, Cereal, Oatmeal, Muffins, Oranges, Orange Juice, Coffee & Tea. Not continental by any means, but just enough to get the day going for us and the kids.

The bathroom had 3 soap dispensers located in the shower. It was unclear what was body wash, what was shampoo and what was conditioner. They all smelled really great, but the only thing I really knew was that the conditioner was the white one (I think?)

Everything was wonderful living in the Dallas I really enjoyed my time living in the dallosanian everyone was very friendly And the staff was wonderful I would definitely live there again

There is nothing I didn't like about living there like I said the staff was wondered Always willing to help and accommodate you in any way whatever you need it That's what I like about them

The bed was comfortable once they found a room for me.

UPDATE: The manager has contacted me and will be retraining her staff so an incident like this won't be repeated. Simply from this feedback alone, I'll be rebooking at The Dalles Inn. It's obvious they care about their customers. I had asked for a room on the bottom floor if there was no elevator. I received confirmation saying I could be accomodated. The front desk sent me outside to find the room that was upstairs and no elevator. Once there the room key didn't work. My son helped me down the stairs, front desk told me this mix up was my fault for using booking.com to reserve the room. Once I did get a room, it was filthy. I will be requesting a refund! This was the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel.

Breakfast wasnt readily available when we left at 6am. Last year they supplied a doggy pack that included 2 bowls, a sheet, poop bags and dog bones. This year that wasn't offered. The doors are locked at night but the doorbell they tell you to ring to get let back in doesnt do anything. You have to walk to the front door and wave someone down.

Centrally located. Rooms were very clean and the King Deluxe we had was quite spacious. Due to COVID, they are not serving hot breakfast right now, but the bag breakfast was more than adequate for us, and leftover milk from cereal was great for in room coffee. pod coffee maker was very easy to use and coffee was excellent. This is definitely and older motel, but has been updated nicely. checkin. staff was very nice.

Kind of weird to me, but side chair in the room had a very deep seat (I’m 5’8” so not a height issue), which I resolved by putting a couple of pillows behind my back. overall though, a good place to stay and we would definitely return.

Great location! This is our second time there in the off season. We took pets with us. The owner and staff is definitely trying to make it for a good experience. And you can definitely tell is not a fancy hotel! But we like it and will come back!
