Beautiful location along the Columbia River. Close to town (five minute drive). Very nice guys on the front desk. Food in the restaurant was tasty, if a bit pricy. The reviews I read warned about road noise, but even tho we had a room at the front of the building, our room was quiet. But, we didn't open our windows. Go to Hood River for breakfast rather than eating in the hotel restaurant.

Rooms are a little tired but location can't be beat. There is a highway out in front. Restaurant was fairly expensive and staff seemed a little inexperienced but they were earnest and nice. I left my memory foam pillow in the room and I wrote to inquire about it but no one ever wrote me back.

Lovely grounds for walking and absorbing the natural beauty is the surrounding area. Very comfortable bed and a spacious corner room. Very helpful staff at the front desk. lovely ambience. Great views of the river. The gardens and bridges were a fun plus.

Would have been nice to have breakfast included or at least coffee and tea options either in the room or in the lobby. They only had caffeinated coffee in the lobby after seven, so no options for those who don't or can't do coffee. Location is really close to the highway which is loud and somewhat distracts from an otherwise beautiful and peaceful location.

The hotel is not only beautiful but well maintained. Clean comfortable beautiful rooms set right in an idyllic landscape. Excellent food in the lounge though quite limited.

We stayed on a Monday night and did not expect the A team. The young man who checked us in flew through the elevator instructions and property details very fast without ever looking at us. He was clearly annoyed we were taking up his time. The bartender in the lounge forgot our flatwear leaving us sitting with food for about 15 minutes before we could catch her and ask for them. She had a devil of a time getting the right drinks to the right table. Nice girl but out of her depth, distracted and way too busy. We suspect the weekend and holiday staff is sharper and kinder. It is worth noting that the tall gentleman with magnificent hair who checked us out was efficient friendly and professional.

The whole atmosphere of the hotel was amazing it was built in 1921 and the furniture and decorations are so cool! I had a massage by Martina at the spa and it was the best massage of my life highly recommend. The food was amazing! They also have music in the lounge on Friday and Saturday night. The only thing was that the elevator is operated by hotel staff so I definitely got my steps in going up and down which is fine but might not be for some elderly guests. Would definitely stay here again.

The location was beautiful and it was easy to imagine that you were a traveler in the 1920s when walking the grounds around this beatifully maintained facility.

I did not venture into other rooms other than the lobby, dining area/bar, and my own personal room. Because the building was built during a time when Americans didn't require too much spaciousness, I felt like the room was a little small, but it was still beautiful and nicely maintained.

We felt like we had been transported to another country upon entering the property. The art deco feel was fabulous and tasteful. The food was delicious and the beds were very comfortable and room spacious. The staff was helpful and very pleasant. The grounds are phenomenal as is the cliffside view of the Columbia River. 10 out of 10, we will certainly be returning to this magical place!😊

Historic hotel with well preserved interior/exterior - a 100 year old lift that works to this day and a beautiful garden with gorgeous views of the Columbia River. The staff were super nice and friendly. The room was quiet and clean with beautiful decor and super comfortable bed. The breakfast served at the downstairs restaurant was delicious (extra charge). Overall, it was a great experience, I would highly recommend!

The restaurant views, service and food were great. We ate breakfast and dinner there twice. The grounds and hotel were beautiful. We had massages at the spa-a very nice addition.

It is an older hotel, so be prepared to use the stairs unless handicapped. There is an elevator, but only operated by the hotel staff. Not a real big deal, but good to know.

This charming vintage hotel felt safe, warm and clean. The staff were kind and helpful, and have my son a ride on the antique elevator. I often have trouble sleeping in stuffy hotels due to the lack of fresh air and the sound of central air. This hotel felt like home, with an actual opening window, and the sheets felt soft and clean. The room was charmingly painted, had a gorgeous real wood bed, and the hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The bathroom in the room was roomy and had modern amenities that still looked in keeping with the vintage feel, and there was a walk-in closet. I would definitely come back as a destination.

It wasn't clear what was available for breakfast, if anything, besides the restaurant. My husband said there was coffee. We had reservations for brunch anyway, so it wasn't an issue, but I'm glad I didn't expect anything for breakfast.
