Rough Cut Lodge

My wife really inspects the rooms making sure it is clean and no bugs, etc. This was are 2nd stay at Rough Cut Lodge and both times the rooms were very clean. The location was great near, the Pine Creek Trail. We got 47 miles in on our peddle bikes over 3 days to match our 45 years of marriage, very thankful! It was really nice to have the stove and refrigerator in our suite which helped keep our cost for our trip within budget. The staff helped us with things like making sure the gas stove was working, etc. Chris, the owner, even checked the security cameras to make sure no one was messing with our bikes but turned out it was I who had not pulled the strap through the latch to secure the bike. Will be coming back again if the stay is within our budget!

Everything was fine! It would have been nice to have a nice big tub to soak my sore muscles in after all the bike rides. The shower was smaller but worked fine!

The place is absolutely lovely. Big green lawn, a little creek, a place for bonfires at night. A dream come true. Perfect for families. The cabins and suites are spotless!!! And well equipped.

Reservation and check in process were horrific!!! They were very unclear and we couldn't understand if we were set or not. I sent an email, they did not reply. When we got there, we couldn't get in. Freaked out trying to contact them, but there's no cell reception and no staff. Eventually we were able to contact them and settle everything, but it was exhausting. Not what you hope to experience on vacation.

Other than being right next to the road. I enjoyed the location, especially sitting by the creek at night . I was not in my suite much as I was out hiking the PA Grand Canyon most of the time. It was a nice place to stay. I was visiting to chase waterfalls in the Grand Canyon. I posted a few pictures. These are unnamed waterfalls and not marked on any park maps (you need to find them).

By looking at the photo's of the lodge. I had assumed it was off of the road and down in, but to my surprise we were right next to the road (not used to dealing with road noise). I couldn't connect to the wifi, but I wasn't there for electronics (so no big deal). I enjoyed the property and I would go back.

The location was near the popular Cherry Springs and Galeton was right down the road. The suite itself was quaint, cozy, and clean that was spacious enough for a family of four and all the cooking facilities and equipment were provided to make a meal. The view of the river was relaxing. Firewood was provided for a price to make fires at night. The kids really enjoyed the onsite playground and game area. The whole family was happy.

Nothing.

We stayed in suite 4, which was good since nobody was above us. Our dog barks at every little noise. The water and benches on the property were very nice and soothing. Great place for a weekend getaway.

The laundry room was on one side of the suite so when the machines were vibrating it was a little distracting. Nothing that would prevent us from visiting again. It was a little pricey but that seems to be everything since covid.

Room was clean and we Loved view from our balcony the! Parking was close to our suite and lots of fire pits near the river. All the grounds were maintained in excellent condition!

Not the greatest start! Upon arrival to Our suite it was a hot steamy day and the room was upstairs. The A/C was on when we arrived but it didn’t have enough power to sufficiently cool the room and no effect. I called the office and they said they would send someone to check it but nobody ever showed up. I asked for a fan and they said they would send one up but never showed!! Luckily the weather got cooler the next day and we didn’t need the AC.

We stayed in the Spruce cabin loved how everything was ready and super clean.. scenery is Gorgeous at daytime ..very peaceful we all had GREAT 😃😴 sleep 💤 yeah u get your semi trunks going up the road every now and then but nothing major like I read on some comments.. bedrooms were big and spacious .. kitchen was loaded with everything U need ..very private which is what we wanted.. definitely coming back👍 ..oh yeah the Wi-Fi in that cabin was Great

the smell of the well water was unbearable ..took a little while to get rid of.. the lighting on the outside decks need to be a lit brighter.. would be awesome to have some more lighting around the property especially by the creek ..felt just a 🤏 creepy at night ..T.Vs could use an update other then that everything was PERFECT 👌

Fireplace :) Cleanliness--excellent! Coffeemakers (Keurig and drip) :) Spacious! Balcony! Everything surpassed expectations! In addition, the Welcome Center offered a pool table, a dart board game, board games, DVDs, and heated for comfort in the wintertime. Beautiful panoramic views, great discounted room special, and surprisingly well-maintained roadways.

no elevator available and the stairs were torturous for the amount of baggage we had to carry to the room (a suite on the ground floor was offered, but we wanted to stay in a room with a balcony); too much static electricity on the king bed (?? maybe add a humidifier). Lastly, an available (open) souvenir shop or camp store on or near premises.

The Rough Cut Lodge is a beautiful place....! It is impeccable, from the grounds to the bedroom. We had already stayed in Suite 4 three years ago, and the place looks just the same. Very nice and professional staff.

There is nothing we didn't like. Maybe, if we could check out an hour later, at 11:00 instead of 10:00. No a big deal.

The whole all over cabin , location n very nice get away. Nice accommodations n quality. Loved the atmosphere n Jen n Michelle were awesome to deal with. Would def stay again would love to try the different. Cabins Great n peaceful .. perfect getaway.

Def need to clean the furniture n carpets. N the beds could use some new mattresses. Not that comfy. Don’t like to comment on any negativity just being honest. Keurig coffee maker o cleaned. It was truly dirty. I didn’t mind. Thank you.
