Hampton Inn Columbia Northeast-Fort Jackson Area

Basically the motel was fine! The check-in was a fiasco!!! The front desk person was great, but the whole process was so frustrating! I tried to use a Visa gift card and it wouldn't go through! Because of that my CC# was wiped out and I couldn't pay with that!!!! Then my CASH was refused!!!!!!! I wanted to leave at that point but we were tired and just wanted to get to our room!!!! Really not sure if Booking.com was the culprit (but probably won't use them going forward!) or if it was the Hampton!!!! Why couldn't I use a Visa Gift Card???!!!!! UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!! It was a Christmas gift for that very purpose!!!

Some better policies for checking in!!!!! Being able to use a gift card and still allowing the CC information to stay in the record!!!!

The hotel was very clean and quiet. The room attendants were very polite. The hot breakfast much appreciated because most hotels don’t have hot breakfast anymore, and if they do it’s for an additional fee. And having an ice machine on our floor was so convenient.

When we checked in, we were not told that there was a daily charge of $25 a day for incidentals so we were shocked to see an additional $75 on our bill upon checkout. That is something that should be given more attention during employee training because it’s quite upsetting to find out after you’ve spent several days at the hotel. We were calm but eventually someone is not going to be as understanding, if it hasn’t happened already.

My hotel stay with my family was great. The room was neat, clean and comfortable, I would definitely recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family.

My only complaint on my stay was that we didn't have enough towels. We had three adults and one child staying in the room , there was only two towels in the bathroom. When I contacted the front desk they said that they only had face towels. So they gave me a bunch if face towels to make-up for it.

The rooms were clean and had a fresh smell. the breakfast had ample variety of items, something for everyone. The staff was friendly. We were in need of a crib, the girl at the front desk said they didn't have any. The new manager overheard our conversation and said he would go look. He came to our room and explained that all cribs were already taken, but he did find a pack and play. He apologized for not having any bedding for the pack and play, but we had brought crib sheets with us. The new manager asked the next day how the pack and play had worked for the baby. Great guy.

There was a shortage of towels. We had to ask several times a day to get fresh ones. They need to order more for how busy this hotel is.

This is during COVID and so breakfast was a brown bag with a fruit cup, granola bar, water and coffee. Not as good as the usual by Hampton Inn’s standards precious but everything looked clean and precautions were in place, so I was very satisfied with our stay

Very close (within 10 minutes) to Fort Jackson Base, which it excellent for traveling back and forth for FamilyDay and Graduation Day! Hotel was very clean and quiet and is located very close to restaurants & fast food establishments! Breakfast was free and very good, especially the waffles! :) And we had cereal, fresh fruit and yogurt the next day!

Due to COVID, we assumed, the workout room and the pool were both closed, which it was very warm and nice outside so the pool would have been really good. :(

Everything!! The cleanliness the safety I felt being able to sleep. Breakfast the staff were beyond amazing as well!! I really did like everything.

I would like to state that there wasn’t anything I didn’t like I was very comfortable with everything even though it was for one night it was just beyond amazing plan on going to book this hotel every time that I do go to South Carolina!

When we checked into our 1st room the front desk was wonderful. After went back through our 1st room we noticed ants in one of the beds and in the bathroom and there was a dirty wash cloth in the shower. After calling front desk they changed our room immediately and gave use time to clear our stuff out she also provided a discount for the stay. Our 2nd room was perfect we enjoyed our stay and thank you to the wonderful front desk.

Very convenient location to get off the interstate the we were traveling. Really nice to have a Chick-fil-A near it!

The lady who checked us in was polite but didn’t seem to be too happy. The gentleman the next morning for check out was very bright, cheerful & outgoing!

I like the size of the room and how friendly the staff was there. I love the fact that you get hot breakfast there also.

I didn't like the fact that it wasn't a change machine for the washer, but that's a manner detail
