The George

We did not eat breakfast there. We did, however, eat dinner at Porter’s. The staff was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. One steak came out overcooked and Brussel sprouts were barely warm. Both were remedied and one steak was competed. We were also given a piece of complementary piece of cheesecake that was delicious for an anniversary celebration. I would say the kitchen staff needs some work.

The decor was unique for the entire hotel including the cabinet in which beverages and snacks were placed.

The George is in a great location with an easy walk to restaurants and shops which had outdoor music playing on the lawn nearby. It has a cool vibe and is decorated well with good in room bar and snacks provided for purchase.

This is the second time that I have stayed at The George that they did not have toiletries like soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion in the room. Thankfully my husband brought extras that he uses on trips but since this has happened at this property before, we mentioned it to the girl at the check out desk. She said they do usually provide toiletries so I guess we are just the unlucky ones who keep getting rooms that none are provided in. I also got a call from the front desk about clothes that I supposedly left in the room which were not mine, but no call from the manager apologizing for the inconvenience of twice staying at the property and having no soap, shampoo or conditioner. Very disappointed in the customer service at The George.

As a first-time (far) away from home, The Geroge was the perfect stop to settle in and get to know the city of College Station and attend the first week of graduate school. It is located in Century Square which has a lot of good restaurants, coffee shops, and retail stores. Initially, I planned to stay for two nights, but I ended up extending for about two weeks for multiple reasons. One of which is that I loved the lounge atmosphere and how friendly the staff was, especially Hope at the front desk. She was very welcoming and supportive of my transition to the US, and always walked the extra mile to make sure my stay was comfortable. At The George, I met a lot of interesting people whom I made friends with and enjoyed a lot of passing conversations with strangers. Now that I moved across the street into my new apartment, I still plan to spend my mornings in The Geroge lounge from time to time where I'll be meeting w/ friends and perhaps meet new ones.

It was a short stay. Check in was super fast and easy. The pool was fun for my kids, and the property and surrounding shops, etc. are very clean and nice.

My room was very small. Nice and clean, but quite a bit smaller than a “normal” hotel room. It seemed like a New York or San Francisco sized room in College Station, Texas.

Loved it! Will be back for more stays! Clean, comfortable and unique! A place you want to stay, not have to stay! Excellent sheets and pillows, this is a big for me! We all know how awful those pillows can be. Great location! When booking, this is place we look first!

Not a thing! Honestly... all great!

Excellent location, restaurants all around. Nice, safe location. Nicely appointed room, large bathroom. Nice bar in lobby and coffee complimentary in am.

Valet was a little chaotic when checking in, but it was ok. Not sure if there was self park adjacent.

The location is excellent. The Texas A&M Campus is walkable from this location. There are other easy transportation options available as well if you do not want to drive.

The shower was not as clean as it should have been, so I cleaned it for them. But other than that, the place is high-end and I would say it was a great overall stay.

Loved the entire ambiance of this place! Quirky and cool vibes...the sheep in the elevator lobby on the second floor was cute...I loved the way he moved from place to place each time we came or went from our room. Everyone was super nice...the room was dark at night/AC blew cold/beds comfy and love the oversized towels!

We have stayed here several times! such a fun hotel.. the wall of books depicting the Texas flag inn honor of Barbara Bush is always so welcoming! Everyone is so friendly and it has a great bar!!!

The hotel is beautiful and is within EASY walking distance to dining, shopping and the university. The room was well-appointed, quiet and comfortable. Staff were knowledgeable, efficient, and hospitable.

Bring your own pillow. Also, there is very, VERY limited parking at the hotel itself, so you will likely be parking in the parking garage about half a block away. It isn't all that bad of a deal, but if the weather isn't kind ... your walk to and from the garage will be disappointing.
