What a FANTASTIC historic property! Tammy was so kind and informative and allowed us to check-in early and even upgrade to a magnificent room! The daily happy hour they offer with wine and cheese was lovely and enabled us to meet and get to know other guests! We even planned a return trip in a few months with a couple we met there! EASY walking to downtown, the strand, shops, eateries and the beach is right down the street! Great property with lots of history!

We loved the staff. Tammy & Cora Lynn were very helpful and attentive. The location is literally in the center of everything. It is a 5 minute drive to anywhere. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. We slept like babies! Cocktail hour was fun. We met other guests and Tammy pours a helluva drink... Cora Lynn is incredibly attentive and kind. She was always asking if she could lend a hand or if we needed anything. Tammy gave great suggestions on where to eat and where to visit and was always available to drop you off if needed.

Nothing, really. We are sitting here trying to think of something bad to say. Nope. Nothing. Maybe be a little more diverse in the breakfast menu, but even then, I can't complain about it. It is an old mansion. If you go in there thinking the property is going to be shiny and new, then this isn't the place for you. If, on the other hand, you love the history and nuances that go with 130 year old property, then you can feel confidant in booking this for your stay. It was great!

The Mansion was an excellent place to stay. The Victorian house is close to beach and the Strand. It is very beautiful inside with period furnishings. The rooms are large and eloquent. Delicious daily breakfast is included and always scrumptious. They have a daily social hour as well. A wrap-around porch is a must to sit and enjoy! Most importantly, the owner and staff are tremendously helpful, friendly and accommodating. They made our visit feel like we were the only ones in the house. Have to give a shout out to Tammy.....the go-to gal who made us feel like family! She was most delightful, funny and accommodating! Would highly recommend!!

The mansion was absolutely beautiful that room was very large and comfortable. The bed was so nice and comfortable to sleep on the sheets were soft everything was just great. As far as a staff the only one we really dealt with was Tammy and she was amazing. It was my husband's birthday. She managed to sneak the surprise cake I had requested into our room while we were checking in. She took us for a little tour and the golf carts dropped us at a restaurant picked us up she was amazing.

I got nothing. Lol

Tammy was just wonderful throughout our stay. She and her daughter made it very pleasant and were so engaged in keeping our toddler happy despite his anti-social wails. The room was exactly as we booked and expected. It is an old building but experienced quite a few renovations. Richard, the owner and chef was extremely accommodating of our dietary restrictions too. Room: King with Balcony It was done up beautifully and felt cozy and comfortable. There are 2 ACs, but I wasn't sure if the one above the balcony door worked, but it didn't matter to us. The bed was comfortable and we slept really well. The washroom was vintage on design, and the tub didn't allow much space for 1 person and the shower drapes. Again, not an issue since we're built small. Breakfast: Delicious Started off with fruit and yogurt, with the option of Mimosas (which we didn't take). There was Orange and Grapefruit juice too with Coffee and Tea. We had notified them of our restrictions, and they had Mushroom Quiche and French Toast made fresh for us. It was filling, delicious, and we could have easily asked for more. All in all, if we were to cruise out of Galveston again, we will surely stay here, no doubt.

Not a dislike, more of an observation: - The washroom door in this room is barn-door style and has no lock. - If the drapes go in front of the AC by the window, it shuts off for safety (due to no air intake), so ensure they are pulled aside.

First you pull up to this gorgeous and immaculate mansion. In awe at its grandeur! Then you walk inside beyond the 3 inch thick solid wood door and continue to marvel at its craftsmanship, elegance, and warmth until you’re greeted by the friendly and charming Tammy. We received our room key to unlock our powder blue heaven made for two room with a view of a home that inspired Alfred Hitchcock to write the film “The Birds.” I could go on, but you must see this fantastic home for yourself to get the full experience. Stay here, and come back, as we will!

Nothing could have been better!

I had booked this room for one night for me & my friend to stay at before we went on our cruise & our minds were BLOWN! This property is so beautiful & the staff (Miss Tammy) was more than accommodating! It was like taking a step back in time but still felt like a home away from home. Miss Tammy was so friendly & made us felt so welcome! There is complimentary drinks & snacks at a certain time of the day where we could hang out in multiple different parlors in the house. Breakfast was amazing, they did not have buffet style, you would sit down in the breakfast area & they would bring you your breakfast like if you went to a restaurant. There was round the clock water, coffee & hot tea. Our room was beautiful! It was so spacious on the inside & the bed was comfier than the one I have for myself at home. The bathroom had a beautiful lion claw bathtub & there was great water pressure when you would take a shower. The location of the property is walking distance to the area that is like New Orleans & Miss Tammy even took us on a tour of the area in the property's golf cart! which they also have that available to rent for the day if you want to use it. We will for sure be staying here again!

I honestly could not find a single thing that I did not like about staying here! everything was beyond my expectations

Absolutely everything.. Tammy was amazing from the start. We ended up having car trouble so arrived after 6 which is after check in. Was greeted with drinks and small talk and gave a fantastic dinner recommendation to The Original Mexican Cafe right down the street. Showed us to our beautiful room, it was perfect with a private balcony, claw bath tub with a view. Did I mention the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! In the morning we had some delicious french toast and fresh pressed coffee.

We loved the charm and character of the place! It's a well kept historic mansion and beautifully furnished. Big rooms with nice clean bathrooms and soaker tubs. Balcony views and so peaceful. Our morning breakfasts were wonderful. Fresh juices, milk and coffee served with different dishes from biscuits & gravy to quiche and fruit parfaits. They have a wonderful selection of complimentary spirits for happy hour daily and mimosas on weekends for a breakfast treat. The service was amazing and the staff went above and beyond!!! They are super accomodating to cruisers for parking and shuttle services to/from port. They were up & around early knowing our cruise departure time & shuttled us with our luggage to the port in a cute little model T cart. Tammy and her staff are exceptional and we cannot recommend this place enough. It is a relaxing, low key and comfortable place to stay.

no refrigerator in room for snacks, food.. BUT honestly, that is no big deal and definately not a deal breaker for us! This place is truly a gem and a wonderful quaint little place to stay!

The staff- Wonderful! Coraline(sorry if I misspelled her name)is so nice and made sure we were happy with everything during our stay. Every morning she welcomed us into the breakfast room. And check out with her was quick and easy. A thank you to her for the little bit of history on the mansion and the hospitality. The breakfast-Delicious! The quiche and berry muffins were so good! Loved that they have 24hr coffee/juice/water. I'm a coffee drinker so. The yogurt w strawberries and granola was also delicious. There's refrigerators at both the mansion and guest house which we used after hours. It was 1130 and I was eating yogurt in the mansion while enjoying some wonderful relaxing music in the living room. Fyi there's happy hour from 4-6p, which we missed out on because we were at the beach. The room- I booked a queen for me and a friend(Fredericksburg). It was at the guest house(blue house). There's a shared balcony which we enjoyed early in the morning. Just sitting, talking, hearing the birds singing, all relaxing. Fyi the balcony is on the back side of the house, view of other backyards and the neighbors cat which we still enjoyed. The room was spacious for 2. My friend enjoyed the sitting area. I enjoyed the comfy bed, it really is comfy! The stand up shower is small but we kept the shower curtain open to have light and wiggle room. Still, not a bad thing. The light that comes in through the huge windows was nice in the morning. That helped when taking pics. The mansion and guest house both have a late 1800s early 1900s feel all around. The tall, wide doors and windows give the houses a beautiful look. Everything about both houses is beautiful. The tall windows in the breakfast room let in all the natural lighting. We are both old souls who love this kind of thing. This is a place you can truly enjoy at any age. There were couples and families w small children staying also. The neighborhood is nice. Beautiful houses all around.

I couldn't find anything that we didn't like.
