Awesome Waffles ... !! Good Location right off the hwy ... this is an older property (meaning older=good) you get more room inside more parking outside fewer people per acre !! You'd think it was a new property by the updatedness ... next door and in the blocks all around and nearby they've recently completed almost every hotel chain you ever heard of ! It's hop ON & OFF the hwy (very convenient) to go to McAllen (40 min), PaloAlto Battlefield (27min), or SPADREISLAND/THEISLAND(Just under 1 hr).

Booking.com made me pay $89/night ... Google maps showed $74 and the nice lady said it's only $59 if ya stay 7 days ... She offered to adjust my bill but when she saw "Booking. Com" she said there was nothing she could do cuz of Booking . Com ..

I stayed here for 5 nights during the dusty part of a home renovation. I was looking for a clean, comfortable, quiet and affordable location as I was exhausted and bleeding money from the reno!!! LOL! The stay exceeded my expectations. The staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms pristine and newly renovated.

Breakfast was a little sparse, could have used some yogurt, maybe bagels with cream cheese or peanut butter. Offerings were very high carb. Maybe apples in addition to the bananas. If they were there, I didn't see them. Just a suggestion. That said the coffee was hot and plentiful. The rooms could use a hair dryer. But I read the reviews and bought my own.

Check in was quick, the staff were friendly, helpful, and expedient. The room was just as pictured, spacious and newly renovated.

The location is right on the feeder road which makes it easy to get to but also contributes to the noise level. Prices seem a bit high for a motel but with the lack of availability in the area perhaps it reflects demand.

Location was perfect with food option locations all around!! Staff was super accommodating when we needed extra towels and toiletries and always with a sincere smile. Beds were so comfy and loved that room was so spacious.

The only one thing we noticed was an old yellow stain on one of the beds fitted sheets. Sheets smelled freshly cleaned. But maybe just not use that sheet at all as it was unseemly.

Newly-renovated, really nice, comfortable bedding, well-laid out room, the light over the sink had a motion sensor, so I left it on all night but it only came on when I needed it.

When I checked in, the desk clerk warned me I'd be charged $2 if I took the room's key card with me instead of leaving it in the room. Fairly off-putting. I was also warned that a $50 charge would be put on my credit card to cover any damage I did to the room. REALLY?! I'm a senior citizen, non-smoker, no pets, no guns, no intention of damaging the room.

I did not have the breakfast. The room we were in had been newly renovated but still smelled a little damp. I kept the a/c unit at 68 for the humidity. I liked that blackout shade which kept all the light out to the point that I couldn't tell if it was day or evening which helped me rest. Comfortable bed but not for more than 8 hrs. (I tried). The location is just off the freeway with many dining options. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

There's nothing you can do about an old motel even with renovations. It's definitely a 2-3 star and you get what you pay for. But they keep it as clean as possible. It's appoximately 45 - 1 hour away from South Padre Island.

Every staff member we had contact with was exceptionally nice and friendly. The room was very spacious, clean, and simple. Breakfast was simple, waffles, toast & bagels, pastries, juice, milk. I will be staying here every time I am visiting this area.

There are no outlets around the sink. I also want to share that the property is a little deceiving. The outside is dated but the rooms are awesomely modern and very spacious!

it looked to have been remodeled which is a good thing however there was noticeable add ons that were never/partially finished like the smoke detector was missing, the tile in the restroom was not properly set, and the air conditioner was leaking water when on.

Updated room, clean and fresh decor with new bathroom fixtures and new large-screen TV.

New tall beds uncomfortably high, but mattresses very comfortable.

The room was spacious & very clean. The bathroom had great lighting & clean. The outside didn't look too promising, but the inside exceeded our expectations.

The only drawback, there were only 2 towels. They were kind of rough.
