The convenience of the location is a big plus! There are so many things near the Crocket close enough to walk to; the Alamo, the River Walk, excellent restaurants, a pharmacy, bars, ghost walks, and other tourist spots. We never used our car! The price is better than other hotels nearby and is kept very clean.

Even though the hotel is a historical building, it could still use some updating such as the carpets and a restaurant. There is a Starbucks in the building which serves coffee and convenience food, but for an actual breakfast you must go out. Next door is the Menger Hotel which has an excellent buffet or you can order from a menu. The buffet price is about $15.00.

Everything was really nice! Staff was incredibly friendly. When something was wrong they sent someone right away! Really a nice place to stay. Really liked the Valet process of being able to scan the QR code so your car is down there waiting for you.

The only thing really was that we had to pay for parking. As a hotel guest we should not have to pay that. Maybe consider putting a safe in the room. People traveling need a place to lock up important items. Also inform guests when they are doing a reenactment at the Alamo. Scared the crap out of this Chicago couple! Lol

I love how close this is to the Alamo, also a short walk to the Rivewalk and other downtown activities. The valet employees were all very nice and worked as fast as they could even when they were busy. The restaurant in the hotel had amazing food and friendly staff. The inside of the hotel is beautiful and great for a Davey Crockett fan. It’s an older hotel, but I think it adds so much charm to it.

Not enough creamers or sugar for the coffee in the room, and only one pod of regular caffeinated coffee. Would just like to see it better stocked and with a few more options.

This is a beautiful historical hotel which is a registered landmark. It is directly across from the Alamo. You also have access to the Riverwalk and the River Center Mall. So many conveniences. We enjoyed the ease of being able to get our car whenever needed. Friendly staff. Valet parking may seem expensive but parking downtown is expensive so valet parking is well worth it.

The rooms need a microwave. If there can’t be one in the rooms, there should be one in the lobby where the tables are. Having no access to a microwave is inconvenient.

Excellent location! Less than a block from the Alamo and two from the Riverwalk. I was so glad we picked this location. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. They were pet friendly, and even let us leave our little dog crated in the room when we couldn't take him with us. The Starbucks downstairs was an affordable breakfast option. The Crockett Tavern also had very good convenient food and was great for when we just didn't feel like going back to the Riverwalk area for dinner. It was SO quiet at night. The hotel is on a street to nowhere, so we didn't hear any traffic noise, just a little "people getting out of the bars" noise on Friday night.

The rooms are a little dated, as others mentioned, but for the price this place can't be beat and the lobby areas are beautiful. The AC was noisy as well, but we just turned it on in the evening and shut it off when we went to bed. We were there in February, so didn't need it at night. And we don't have AC where we live (Maine), so it's not a noise we are accustomed to. The pool wasn't heated, so even though it was 85 degrees during the day, it was too cold to swim in.

Location!! The Alamo is right outside the entrance to the hotel coffee shop. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I had a red eye flight to San Antonio for a conference and arrived at the hotel at 6am. The lobby has very nice, comfortable (big) furniture so waiting is pleasant. There are several clusters of seating throughout the first floor/lobby/coffee shop area. The check in clerk gave me an early check in so I could go sleep!! The building is older and has a historic, cozy vibe. It smells good inside! A fresh smell. The hotel has an on-site restaurant that is open late. They also have outdoor seating. The Crockett Tavern also features live music! The coffee shop has blueberry muffins that taste AMAZING!!

The pool is smaller and the location is in a bit of an awkward spot in relation to the hotel and parking area but it wasn’t a deal killer for me. If you have small children or want to spend a good chunk of your time at the pool, this probably won’t cut it for you.

The hotel is located very close to the Riverwalk and Alamo, which was great. I was in town for a conference and found it easy to navigate my way to the conference center. The common areas of the hotel (check-in, coffee room, tavern) all have been recently redone and have a nice vintage vibe.

As expected in a older building, the rooms are quite small and, at least in my room, the bathroom could use updating. The desk chair was also not great if you do have to work from the room. This wasn't a huge problem for me since I wasn't spending a lot of time there.

The location was excellent. The staff was very nice, with the exception of the gentleman at the front desk who acted like we were trying to sneak our dog in, even though we came in the front door with her and made our reservation through the Bring Fido app.

They charged $125 for “dog fee”. I assumed this was to give a deep clean to rooms where dogs had stayed. However, the carpet in our room was dirty. There were splotches of a red sauce that had been spilled and not cleaned up, and the carpet over all needed a shampooing. The carpets in the halls etc. though were very clean.

A fantastic location and great staff. The nearby tavern with local music and food was excellent, a special experience. Went to a Spurs game-- fun time. The Missions outside of town are beautiful and worth visiting. San Antonio is a great city full of Latin American culture.

Partiers outside the hotel went until sunrise and the room had a loud mechanical equipment noise-- $5 soda, cheaper vending machines did not work. The riverwalk was a crowded tourist trap. Late night Christian street preaching was annoying.
