Hilton Garden Inn San Antonio Downtown Riverwalk

The room was quiet and clean. Staff was so nice and attentive. Loved the texts to make sure all was well.

There was an awful odor when we first walked in and thought we might have to change rooms. Charles the maintenance man took care of it for us. It ended up being the epoxy that glued the new TV to the cabinet. Charles was very efficient and apologetic about the inconvenience and offered us free bottles of water. I was grateful for his help! Breakfast wasn't great, we had the buffet. Most of the food was cold and the lady running the place wasn't very friendly. She kept referring to the buffet as "My Buffet", My, My My! AND it was nothing to brag about...Sorry! I thought I should be honest, I don't like complaining, but this needed to be said.

Amazing staff at valet parking, check-in and at the bar. The location is an easy block from the River Walk and right next to Voo Doo Donuts and the Long Horn Saloon. Very centrally located. We had a late dinner there one night and the carnitas were fantastic! Even after you read what I didn't like, I will say that I'd absolutely consider staying here again,

The first night all we could hear was music coming up from one of the bars next door. It wasn't so bad that you couldn't finally fall asleep, but it was annoying. My friend's room was facing the busier street and she reported street noise every night of our stay. If you're a light sleeper try to get a room further back. There is also a lot of hallway noise when people are walking through. The doors need some sound proofing.

I really like that this location is walking distance to the Alamo, riverwalk, and the shops at river center. Location felt very safe as soon as I got there valet was courteous when I needed my car did not wait for more than 15 minutes. Check in was also good I checked in around 5 so I did not have to wait for a room to be ready and room was clean when I got there. The view from the rooftop at night is amazing!

I was a little hesitant when I booked this hotel because of some bad reviews it had this is my first time booking a higher price hotel from what I am used too but the only thing i would say was bad was when i used the pool it didn’t look very clean my room phone didn’t work and neither did the one outside in the hallway so that was inconvenient when I had a question for front desk i had to personally go i think for cleaning maybe a little more thorough only because when i fixed my pillow sheet it had a fake eyelash and I don’t use that

This is a well located hotel about a 10 minute walk to the Convention Center, and a few minutes from the Alamo. The room was large, and comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious. For longer stays Housekeeping is available on request, although even though I didn't request it, the room was cleaned after a few days. The staff were friendly and addressed a problem with the breakfast booking well.

There wasn't much not to like. The shower could have been more powerful, but it was totally fine. There was an issue with the breakfast booking. Although it was included in my original booking, the hotel said they no longer provided it. They did honor a continental breakfast, which I didn't take each day, despite my booking, and paying more for, an American breakfast. I understand this was a development subsequent to my original booking, but the breakfast did influence my decision where to stay. However, it did flag up a general issue that it may be cheaper to pay for breakfast at hotels rather than through the booking.com site. Overall, I was reasonably satisfied with the resolution, although I would have preferred if the cooked breakfast had been honoured.

The rooftop pool was nice and the room was clean.

Check-in took 45 minutes because the employee had no idea what they were doing. Then the desk attendant, Adam, interrupted my grandmother while sleeping to get her driver's license when the room was not in her name. Apparently during the 45 minute check-in (the time was spent completely on me, not waiting in line) he messed upand had to do it all over. He only apologized once for the inconvenience and it was with a snarky tone. I feel bad for the 5 guest waiting behind me. FYI I had my license, credit card, and confirmation number ready when I approached the desk. I was not the problem.

I enjoyed everything. The locations were perfect, right behind the riverwalk, and 2 blocks from Alamo. Walking distance everywhere. Had a good time

The valet was the only downfall. $37 and you cannot park it yourself, the valet guy said everywhere else would be the same. We found a parking garage for $10 flat for 24 hours one block away and we parked there the second night. It's right next to Walgreens.

As soon as we arrived we were greeted by valet . Very kind and informative. Parking is 35 a day. Valet was great! Front desk was also very friendly. Location for us was amazing. Everything was in walking distance. The Alamo, ripleys, river walk. Our room was clean however not very spacious. I Had a 2 bed room , I could barely move around but I’ll just make sure to get an extra room for future bookings. The restroom was clean as well however the shower retained water. The water wouldn’t go down which was kind of annoying but I didn’t want to have to move everything to another room so I didn’t say anything. The kitchen was closed which was disappointing . Breakfast was served in a paper bag (water, yogurt, granola bar) due to COVID which didn’t make sense to me because everything else like the bar, pool and gym were open. There was also no room service, unless requested due to COVID .

awesome location. liked that we could walk to La Panaderia, Devils River and the riverwalk.

only that the bar across the street was a bit loud and we were on the 9th floor. In addition, the alarm went off during our stay. twice actually within a 15 mins of each other. the announcement stated for everyone to evacuate, however when we called the front desk, they stated that they do not know what was going on so for us to stay put.

Location was perfect for our stay during NYE. The riverwalk was a short walk away. The room was spotless!

We didn't know where the entrance to the hotel was and had to ask for directions. There should be a sign by the elevators that say that the lobby is located on the first floor. This did not effect our stay, everything was fantastic!

Confused by breakfast options/charges. Valet parking didn't have our car ready after 2 scheduled times-we set it up the night before and texted a reminder 25 minutes prior to pickup...no car. Location of room had a view of the AC unit's right outside our window
