Hyatt Place Salt Lake City/Cottonwood

We chose the Hyatt Place for its location. On a trip to visit family, it was well located near the 215 and 80 fwy. Also, there were several restaurants within just a very short walk that made it nice for the end of the day when we were tired. Good staff interaction throughout the visit and for those who enjoy skiing, this is a great location to visit ski areas. The hotel seemed quite new and staff went out of their way to make sure everything was to our liking. Good breakfast each morning as well though available only until 9:00.

I loved the location and the pretty city skyline view as we drove to the hotel. The hotel had plenty of parking and it was clean and our beds were comfortable. Loved there was a lounge and bar to relax in, and the complimentary free breakfast was great.

We were saddened that the pool was closed and under construction. That was the only reason I didn't give it 10 stars.

Hotel is newer and clean. I appreciated some little touches of luxury, such as real glasses (not plastic), a larger soap bar, and comfortable beds.

My bedroom faced a noisy road. The windows did not block all the noise. Also one night stand light was out and even though I told the receptionist, and she said it would be fixed in the morning, it was not.

Great location away from the city and easy access to highway. Perfect for traveling with a dog, as they are accepting, accommodating and it’s a nice area to walk around. Hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet, nice spacious rooms. Being able to get food at anytime was very convenient.

The pool area could be better, it’s pretty small

This property is in a great location to reach all of the Salt Lake Valley but far enough away from the busy city to make it nice. The size of the room was perfect for a larger group. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The bathroom was a bit awkward with the retractable glass door and the sink faucet was placed too far back from the bowl of the sink to effectively wash your hands. These are pretty nit picky things and all and all it was a great room and property.

Clean close to our destination nice breakfast … pleasant staff …we were there because of a medical need so we’ll be back … the Hampton close by would actually be a better fit for our needs but we like Hyatt facilities and have more confidence in you meeting our expectations

Bed was uncomfortable compared to Marriott,Little America or Hilton… but OK for one night …we actually look for Hyatt when we travel because they are clean, comfortable , and reliable … this location is kind of weird getting into because it’s so crammed into the lot and the traffic flow

New hotel, comfy beds, pretty quiet.

Breakfast is pretty lacking (no pastries, and bagels and bread could be better quality), bathroom door wasn’t working properly, and faucet in sink was set too far back so your hands almost hit the back of the sink when you wash. You had to turn on the water all the way just to get a stream strong enough to clear the sink with your hands. There were a couple spots on the sheets.

The breakfast staff was awesome! Helpful & happy. My only peeve was it ended at 9:00. Maybe 10:00 would have been better. Hotel location is A++ for skiers.

The hotel room was extremely clean and had everything that we needed, the location for skiing was absolutely perfect for the places we were going. Great starting point for skiing and also having the ability to go into Salt lake quite easily.

While I completely appreciate the free breakfast, the quality was so so.

The breakfast has tons of variety and was delicious, well maintained, and had friendly, helpful staff. Our room was very clean, the housekeeping staff was friendly, and I love the shades that slip into a bracket to black out the room. The gym is also well maintained and a very pleasant place to work out.

The pool was covered until someone asked for it to be open. Because there was a large storm, we assumed the pool had been damaged so we didn't ever use the pool. We found out we had to ask on our last day there. So that information would be helpful as guests check in.
