Commodores Inn

A really nice family run hotel. Great location, very close, about 5 min drive to Stowe town centre. And although the breakfast was not included in the price, they did have quite a few things like cereals, breads, and other breakfast items on the house. I really liked the way the staff actually went out of the way to help you to get what you wanted for breakfast. The rooms were cosy, clean and everything worked perfectly.

I found it a bit strange they did not do housekeeping for the rooms, citing Covid. Not that we needed it, but if you’re staying for longer than a night, you might miss a fresh room.

The Inn is very pet friendly. I brought my cat and dog. There's plenty of outdoor space for walking the dog around the grounds and little lake. Outdoor pool and indoor jacuzzi were very nice. Restaurant was not open but is supposed to open soon. It has nice decks overlooking the pool and pond. The Stowe Yacht club had a remote-controlled sail boat race going on all weekend. It was interesting to watch. Staff was very friendly to my dog and very accommodating with early check-in and allowing me to have a guest visit to use the pool and grounds. I even brought my bike and stored it in the ski closet until I road the Stowe bike path. This location in the lower village avoids all the traffic in town and on Rt 108. All around great choice!

For the utmost convenience, it would be nice if the room had microwaves. There are microwaves in the coffee/tea area in the lounge but in the room would be better.

Super friendly and helpful staff who even went above and beyond to reunite us with a well-loved stuffy before we checked out. Indoor pool was a hit with the little guys. Curtains allowed for blackout, separate towels available for the pools.

Breakfast wasn't enough for us to hang around for. We opted for a table at a restaurant down the street to get more out and about time in Stowe, but it would be enough for some folks for a quick bite before heading out. There wasn't any shade available at the outdoor pool - which made it a no-go for us at the time we were there.

Beds and pillows are soft and comfortable. Room temperature is great, just about right, no need to keep adjusting! Location is good, it's near to most of the places we want to go.

It will be better if breakfast is included with the price, unfortunately staff said they don't have anyone to manage the kitchen, it's sad. Saw a hair on the tub, but did not make a big deal, maybe next time clean better. There's a lamp on the table but not plug in and nowhere to plug, so can't use at all.

Nice big and clean rooms with a mini fridge. Very nice indoor pool and hot tub. Quiet and welcoming hotel. Richard and Mandy at the front desk are very nice. Will stay there again for sure. Having 2 microwaves in the lobby with a full size fridge for customers with available tea and coffee is a bonus. And there is free shuttle bus at your door step to Stowe every 30 mins if you don't want the 15 mins drive.

I just wished that it was closer to the ski hill and I wish that every room had a microwave and that they would include breakfast in the room rate.

The price was reasonable compared to inns or B&B in the Stowe, Barre, Burlington, Northfield ($900-$1000 per night) area but still quite expensive per night. $288 per night should be prime room accommodations, but I guess for this area, $288 is good. I understand Vermont goes out of its way to keep chain retail companies out to allow family businesses to thrive, but hotels might be one area to change this rule.

The room was a bit shabby but not dirty. It needs a refresh.

The room as huge and comfortable. The property was very well kept. The lobby included a large living area with a big screen TV, a coffee area with a dining room set, and a computer area. There was a pool and spa on the premises including a nautical themed restaurant. Overall, I wasn't expecting too much based on some prior reviews, but all in all this was an exceptional place at an exceptional price and the staff was more than polite and courteous. I especially enjoyed conversations with the owner who is 80 years old and still works diligently to maintain the property and attend to all of the guests needs. Well worth the stay.

I wished there were a continental breakfast with some muffins, donuts, toast, etc. But there are reasons and protocols due to covid for not allowing that at this time which could not be helped. But they offered the best cup of coffee around the clock!!!

Just what I expected for a small independent vacation town hotel. Clean and comfortable. Pool and hot tubs were nice. Nice lobby, Nicely decorated.

Streaming TV not great. Should update to DirecTV.

I loved that we got a real old fashioned room key! and that the towels were standard bath towel size, not super-sized and so thick it would take 2 hours in the dryer to dry them. And, that you did not feel compelled to strip the beds after one night’s use, especially since we were only staying 2nights. I felt the hotel was making a serious effort to be environmentally conscientious.

indoor pool a little chilly for me, but I am 65 so maybe it was just me.

It was available at a fair price for the area.

No breakfast. Restaurant on property closed. Pool not clean & needed repair. Overall, the entire hotel needed upgrading. Our bathroom shower was odd & small therefore not safe to use. Toilet was small & needed a new seat. Sink was cracked & stained around the drain. Wallpaper was peeling on several corners of the room & in the bathroom. No screen on window.
