Hampton Inn and Suites Fredericksburg South

The breakdown was great, the location was convenient. The check in staff Joanne and Christopher was awesome; very professional and polite. However, one female staff member had her head down on the desk in a unprofessional manner when I checked out at 11:30AM Saturday morning. That behavior doesn’t look good especially at the front desk. That is the very first impression that one observes which makes the customer think… is this what I am going to expect my stay to be like with unprofessional employees. I am a retired Administrative Supervisor for over (4) decades and I was about to address her behavior and make her aware of her behavior. Otherwise all went well for my overnight stay. Thank you.

The breakfast was very nice. Especially liked the homemade oatmeal. The facility was clean.

Sign on front desk informing the pool and hot tub were closed. Both partner and myself developed a mild allergic reaction to the room most likely due to feather pillows and/or comforter. The lady at the front desk upon check-out refused to print a hard copy of the receipt stating since this was a Booking.com booking, stating: “They send an email receipt, so we don’t offer that.” Total nonsense.

The front desk night manager was very accommodating. She seen that I was stress and exhausted. When I realized my room was near the elevator. I requested a room away from the elevator instead of say there no room available she searched and found a room away from the elevator. That small dosage of compassion made my night restful and my morning energetic. Like I mentioned earlier I was too exhausted to get her name but she work the late shift into the AM and she had pretty nails.

Hospitality

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of ice. Hot coffee even in the evening. Plenty of hot water. Plenty of food for breakfast. This was my second stay at this location. Several restaurants and gas stations nearby. We always stay at Hampton Inns when we travel. Friendly staff!

The fridge didn't seem cold enough to store our food so we just kept it in the cooler. There wasn't any temperature adjustment knob we could find even after pulling it out and looking at the back. There wasn't a thermostat in the room either, though the unit under the window worked fine. It would have been nice if not all the eggs had cheese so my mom, who is lactose intolerant, could have eaten some for breakfast. Overall, small things.

5 minutes from battlefield and plenty fast food choices nearby. Mini fridge. Coffee/Tea available in lobby 24/7. They supply things like toothbrush/toothpaste if you forget. Clean. Four pillows per bed.

I’m into organic so a bit fussy about food 😁 No healthy choices at breakfast. eg. Dannon yogurt (like sugar pudding), eggs with some gooey cheese ugh. Suggestion: bring your own organic tea and grass fed butter or avocado and have the toasted English muffin. Bed was a little on the firm side for me but I lay two of the pillows under my body and it helped.

Breakfast choices were nice. Seemed good you didn’t have to leave the hotel to try and find breakfast.

The only thing I was not happy with was the TV stations available. The local and sports stations were good, along with the news stations. I was disappointed because I love watching ION tv programs and was unable to see them because this station was not in the lineup. It would be nice to maybe add this station to your choice of stations. Other than that, everything else was superb. Will definitely stay at Hampton Inn and Suites again and will recommend to friends and family.

Greeted outside by Staff BEFORE we entered inside. Greeted inside with courtesy and a huge smile by Jami. Robert worked the kitchen for both days and he was absolutely a superb professional. Greeted all he came in contact with. Assisted numerous people that I noticed. Worked non-stop to ensure everything was fresh, hot (as appropriate), and never ran out of anything, including coffee, which was amazing since everyone wanted coffee. All in all, I think the entire Staff that we came in contact with were consummate professionals.

I work for a famous chicken wing chain, and I was sent to Fredericksburg for manager training. While I was sent there for two days I stayed at your facility. It was a delight! I called ahead to inform the desk I was going to be late, and Jamie was understanding and accommodated me. When I arrived I was actually in my original window of appearing between 10 and 11PM. I checked in and headed to my room on the second floor. From the entry way to my room, everything was clean and tidy, the guests were quiet, and I didn’t hear any noise from the Highway. I had a very satisfying stay.

I did become confused with the room numbers. Perhaps it’s because I’m left handed- when I first stopped at the room door without realizing I stopped at the wrong door. Perhaps if the room doors had numbers on the doors themselves it would mitigate any confusion...?

The stay was fine and the staff was excellent. I appreciated that the desk staff checked in with me to see how my room was and if I needed anything. I was also happy to see snacks available, as I had a late check in! Thanks!

You might want to ask the cleaning services to actually scrub the bathtubs. I could draw pictures in the soap scum with my fingernail. Otherwise, the stay was fine for the one night I was there.

Hotel was very clean & well appointed but the staff were outstanding. Across the board they could not have been better. Front desk, breakfast personal, housekeeping, of note, Tony assisted in unloading our luggage, helping us in changing rooms & being altogether warm & hospitable. The staff & overall experience at this property was excellent.

Not one thing.
