Fairground Inn

The bed was very comfortable. The continental breakfast had great options. The night clerk was very upbeat and helpful when we arrived. The rooms are large and had everything that we needed and the pet fee was very reasonable.

It is right next to the train but it didn't bother us. There was a wet spot on the carpet when we arrived. The plug in on my side of the bed was worn out so my cell phone charger kept coming unplugged.

The room was obviously clean, did not smell, was attractive, and the bed was comfortable. The water was continuously hot, regardless of the times of day we used it. The breakfast options were a pleasant surprise. We did not expect the variety. Location was perfect for our trip.

There was no obvious way (list of extensions or sticker on phone) to contact the front desk from our room and dialing 0 produced an unending ringing with no answer. *the room next door kept setting off their smoke alarm with whatever they were doing on Sat night, but finally stopped around 11 pm The room was crowded with all the things they were trying to provide for comfort so it was hard to maneuver. The sink was too shallow/the faucet too low to allow for rinsing out of large cups or water bottles (8oz was the limit) and the faucet handles turned the water on in both the forward (on) direction and the backward (off) direction. It was hard to turn off completely and there was dripping. The shower had a similar issue with not turning off all the way. Wifi was very spotty.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. It's a great location with everything needed to hand. The coffee in reception was great too!!

The sink in the bathroom was blocked and barely draining. We asked for it to be looked at but ended up fixing it ourselves. A couple of light bulbs needed replacing too.

The newly remodeled rooms were such a pleasant surprise. The location was so central and the staff was beyond helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and there was always coffee ready when I was. My room was quiet and while it is a motel I was so happy to find that there was no riff raff lurking around.

The internet was not consistent and cut out often but the staff are aware of the issue and did everything they could to be helpful. They are currently looking at changing providers as they are as frustrated with the situation as I was. They handled the difficulty’s with grace and did what they could to rectify.

I flew from Las Vegas and ended up in the area way earlier than expected, I didn’t request early check in but stopped by the hotel just to see if they might have a room ready yet..the front desk attendant was so friendly and helpful and he was able to get me into a room right then. The room was clean, area was quiet and the staff was great :) I am used to nearby trains so I didn’t find them bothersome!

Hotel was older, but clean with some nice updates. Staff was very accommodating and breakfast was pretty good for the room they had available. Never noticed the train! The desk person found us a smaller room at a lower cost becs I said we didn't need the bigger room Booking.com had reserved for us. We're retired on a fixed income so really appreciated her.

Nothing! It is a great value for the price.

i really appreciate the staff and mangement always accomadating my request for ground floor rooms. check in is always quick and easy and staff is very friendly. rooms are actually very clean and im a clean freak and so far 2 out of 2 stays have passed my mini inspection. so 5 stars alone to the janitorial staff.

i did forget to mention this when i checked out i was in rush. i really hate leaving any negative comments in review first before informing the business personally. but honestly its not neglectful act of staff or anything delibert. its just a little wear and tear that needs addressed. but unforunately i completely forgot until i had to right the review. so im not sure the room number i stayed in but there was small portion of the carpet tacking exposed where the tile meets the carpet by the restroom. i had to place mu luggage to keep my babu from stepping on it.

The staff is amazing here! My flight got delayed 4 hours, so by the time i got to the airport and got a rental car it was midnight. The staff called me to see if i was still coming and i told them the situation and she agreed to just leave my room key by my room since the office would be closed by the time i got there. I really REALLY appreciated that!!! Thank you!! I came for the Spartan races and this location was perfect!

Parking was a little difficult when i arrived.... there was a semi truck there that was taking up at least 3 spaces. And the trains were pretty loud, but i get that. But other than that, i really enjoyed staying here!

My buddy and I are train nuts, so loved when the trains ran by and we could see them. Breakfast had cereal, fruit, bagels, bread, milk, pop tarts, orange juice, muffins.

Sunday morning, shower took a bit of time to warm up, housekeeping should have put fresh towels in room, when they removed the used towels on a 2 day visit.

I called the front desk to ask for more pillows for the bed and to tell them the remote wasn’t working correctly. Very quickly they were at the door with two soft pillows and a new remote. Unfortunately they couldn’t get the remote to work and after two more attempts they realized that the television itself was what was not accepting the codes. They told us that we would get a new television the next day. Instead the ran to the store and bought a brand new 40inch t.v. (the old one was only a 20inch). Never have I had that kind of customer service at a Hotel/Motel in my life. Thank you.
