Hampton Inn & Suites Tacoma/Puyallup

The staff here was friendly, helpful, efficient -- they could be featured in a video to show other hotels what a hotel staff should be like. The room itself was spacious, and gets extra points for having copious power outlets and charging ports.

My room was a bit dark; they could use higher-powered bulbs in the lamps. A bit more variety in the breakfast items would have been nice too (though I do understand the limitations of this late-pandemic life).

My wife ate breakfast and she was very complimentary of the quality and convenience. In general, everything met or exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly, especially Justin (4/15 pm & 4/16 pm) who was genuinely friendly and had good and helpful advice in response to questions we asked him.

The only thing that was difficult was entering off Merridian when approaching from the west with eastbound traffic and obstacles preventing a left turn into the inn. We had to drive east to where we could make a left/u-turn to approach and enter the inn driveway from the east. It would have helped to know this in advance.

I didn't realize there was multiple kinds of rooms for people with disabilities and I selected the wrong type but they were able to get me the correct room I had wanted, to me it's that kind of customer service that make the stay better, plus the little extras everywhere you look, automatic blinds on windows, nice decor throughout hotel, coupons for eating out avail on the table on main floor, fresh coffee in lobby, breakfast was far better then we expected and even had different selections the next day, the kitchen staff were on the ball with keeping breakfast items stocked and tidy, the extra security of having a gated parking garage avail, check out of 12:00 is a bonus too. Location, comfort, we were very pleased with our stay here.

There was a constant line waiting for the fresh waffles so a second machine would help speed up the wait. We had a little trouble figuring out the heat/ac controls in our room, every time we thought we changed it to a certain temp it would turn on but then later didn't maintain the temp we thought we set so got really warm overnight. Not the hotels fault but location has heavy traffic and sirens going by along Meridian several times during the night, being a holiday weekend might have had something to do with that though.

Friendly staff, nice breakfast. our room was a nice size and beds were comfortable.

We had ants in our room thanks to an overlooked previous guest’s breakfast left behind, missed by cleaning staff. Since we were there for just one night and we were exhausted after traveling and a tennis tournament, we dealt with the issue and the. reported the problem at checkout. The front desk staff assured they’d have the issue addressed for the next guest.

Housekeeping seemed understaffed. Made one attempt to clean in the morning 9am but never came back. Also asked for additional toiletries in the evening but no one was available, so went to front desk and they helped (but had to leave counter).

They offered a different style of eggs everyday as well as rotating between sausage and bacon. The staff was friendly and courteous and kept the breakfast area clean.

The cleaning solution for mopping the floors left them sticky. I had to clean the floor in our room with a wet towel a get it off. I noticed the floors in the lobby were sticky after they mopped and the floors dried.

The staff was all very friendly and the pool was excellent! The breakfast which is no longer buffet (understandably due to COVID) was served by the most pleasant individuals who always had a smile.

The decaffeinated coffee and sometimes the regular coffee was cold and not refilled. There were several times in the morning the decaffeinated coffee was cold and the same as the night before. Once I told the front desk it was cold, she poured me a cup from another fresh container (next to the front desk) and did not replace the cold coffee over an hour later. I did not want to go back up to the front desk with a line so only had one cup.

The room was nice and large. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was very nice. Lots of options.

There were no garbage bags in the garbage cans. The fridge was not turned on when we arrived. No blankets or sheets for pull out sofa bed. There needs to be someone looking in on the pool every once and awhile. We went down there in the late evening and there were about 7 kids doing nothing but screaming the entire time. We were trying to use hot tub to relax from an extremely long drive and all we could do was plug our ears because the kids just kept screaming for at least 45 min till they went upstairs.

The check in was easy, Room was spacious and beds were comfy. Breakfast had a lot of options. We were just a 10minute walk from the Washington State Fair.

we were in room 223 which is right above the lobby doors, at about 4am we were woken up cause all we could hear were the lobby doors opening and closing.

Was about the best self serve breakfast we've experienced. Hot omelets or scrambled plus hot meat chioce every morning, plus ample Danish and all the usual self serve item - toast juice coffee fruit yogurt cereal etc. They also had an amply supplied store for buying snacks soft drinks and incidentals.
