Holiday Inn Express & Suites Hayward, an IHG Hotel

Everything was absolutely amazing!!! Everyone was so very nice!! Very quite and very clean!! Excellent location!! The pool/ Hot tub area was very clean and nice!! The Breakfast they had was amazing( scrambled eggs, omelettes, sausage(regular and turkey), the biscuits and gravy, the hot rolls, bagels, yogurts, pancakes, oatmeals, fresh fruits list goes on)!!! The paddle boats was free to use and was fun on the lake!! Corn hole boards was fun to play!! The grandkids loved the swing set!!! Everything was stunning!! Would definitely stay there again!!!

Staff was so friendly and helpful, five stars to Gwen. great decor and large welcoming public area. Pool area was great, initial reason I had booked at this hotel as I had grandsons with and pool area looked large and family friendly, which it was. Room was clean and comfortable, good size space. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best, along with a very pleasant area to dine in. Had some great outside social/play areas and options which Gwen pointed out when checking in.

The only thing I could possibly mention is that the flooring around pool area could be slippery in spots when wet,

There were not enough stars to rate this hotel. Everything was above excellent from checking in, our daily stays, breakfast in the morning was a great starer for the day. The interior of the hotel when you walk into the lobby was stunning, My wife and I had no children with us but the hotel is so perfectly kid friendly with plenty of things for kids and adults to do during your stay, including being able to boat on the lake. Our room looked out back through the trees at the lake and such a comfortable patio enjoy sitting with a glass of wine and with the sun go down. Could not have been any better, in fact the five days we stayed there was the best place we stayed in our month-long travel. Also so, so, pet friendly I know our dog enjoyed the hotel with all the trees around where he could go exploring.

There was one issue I had since I didn't know the area and that was when we were out driving and came back when it was dark, I felt the hotel, apart from having the large hotel sign as you approached. the entrance to the hotel would benefit guests if the driveway entrance had more lighting or indicators where the driveway started, as I missed it couple of times and had to go down the road to where I could turn and come back. Otherwise, it is a great laid out parking lot for all types of vehicles,

Great choices for breakfast. Lobby gave an excellent view of the lake. Path down to the boat dock was well kept up. Property was well maintained. Interior of hotel was very rustic and relaxing.

Front desk staff member was a little impatient with us as we were giving our contact information. Washroom was odd. Closing door was awkward and toilet paper holder was too far away to reach comfortably.

Staff were really accommodating. Booking.com indicated that all rooms labeled as king suite with a view contained a whirlpool. This is not the case! I found this out when I checked in. Staff were really great at switching things around so we were able to get a room with a whirlpool after all. Breakfast selections were great. The view from our room was spectacular. Neat lounge area with library.

Bed is really firm, almost like putting a few blankets on the floor and calling it a bed.

This hotel was a fabulous place to stay in the Hayward area. The facility is large. It has a very nice sitting area with a lakefront. The pool and workout rooms were great. Nice staff, good rooms. Will definitely stay here again.

Ashley the clerk on days was AMAZING! Clerk at night, not so friendly. Beautiful views, good breakfast, clean. Very comfortable beds and pillows

The first night I woke to a strange noise at 12:45am that lasted about 20 minutes. I couldn't figure out what it was. After further investigation and talking to Ashley, I found out it was the automatic sprinkler. It hits the air conditioner unit and the sliding glass doors and is VERY noisy. The second night, it went off after 9, so not as bad and I wasn't as surprised, but still not a good plan. We were in room 114. Also thought I had a lake view room through bookings.com BUT it was not. We looked at the parking lot.

Breakfast was great, many selections, good quality foods, server was very attentive to refilling items as needed.

Liked everything, but could add: Small shelf (maybe above toilet?) in bathroom and/or additional towel bar/hook(s). Night light in bathroom.

I have stayed here previously many years ago. I like the fact that the facility looked as good now as it did in 2008. The breakfast was really good with a wide variety. Also, the entire place was exceptionally clean and well kept. Very, very friendly staff. One of the best places I have stayed.

Room had a beautiful view of lake, also a nice sitting room, great bed, nice comfort level of mattress.

Had to keep the air conditioner turned down low on 65 deg. or when we came back into the room there was a mildew smell. Also the toilet plugged up on our last night for no apparent reason, we did not use excess toilet paper, or any thing else to cause this.
