Canberra Parklands Central Apartment Hotel

Beds were comfortable, a small table to eat at, a comfy lounge, smallish bathroom was fine for our purposes too. Rooms were clean, of a sufficient size and the reception staff were their usual happy and helpful selves.

Two rather minor things. One bedside lamp didn't have a light bulb in at all. Not a big deal in this case. The second one is the exhaust fan that all ACT hotel bathrooms must have in the ceiling if there is no external window. It was comparable to the noise of a Cessna aircraft. While you have a shower it's not an issue. But while sitting on the toilet or using the sink it is that bad that I'd rather turn the damn light off. Not practical on the toilet while sharing the room but gee I wanted to.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment which was much bigger than a normal motel room. We enjoyed the extra space and the little kitchenette . It was well supplied with plates, cutlery, toaster & kettle and a little sink that was useful to wash up after breakfast. There's also a convection microwave . Great quiet location just a few minutes walk to shops and restaurants in Dickson. The movie channel was nice to have and the underground parking was very convenient. The complex is very attractive and also has a pool and gym.

The bathroom is a bit small and pokey. The building needs some maintenance. Eg. Stained carpets and rotting windowsills.

Make a suggestion to put a matress protector on the top of the mattress then the bottom sheet... was very cold when we stayed I put a sleeping bag under the bottom sheet for warmth for my back. notice the mattress gets a lot of wear and tear / stains..with people sleeping on it with just a sheet... would be more hygenic too.. I spray my matress here with tea tree oil.. has made a huge difference. Bositos.. other than that suggestion I have n othing else to say I would stay there again. Great place and great location.

My apartment was two rooms - a lounge type room with a TV and some basic kitchenette things, and a bedroom with a comfortable bed that easily fit me (184cm tall). Within walking distance of a cluster of shops (including a Woolworths and a Coles which is currently being built). Underground parking is nice and safe, and it's keycard access to parking and the hotel room. Free Wi-Fi was a nice bonus. The hotel does apparently have a bunch of extra amenities like a gym, a pool, and stuff (and a whole bunch of recent-ish movies available to stream through the TV), but I didn't use most of those as I was out every day.

The shower was a bit low, I put it up as high as it could go but it was still a tight fit - taller people would need to crouch. Wasn't a big issue though. If you're like me and enjoy walking around, it's probably not the best surrounding area. The suburb of Dickson is currently undergoing some "renewal" program though, and I'm sure in the future it'll be a nice looking suburb in the future but I'd recommend driving rather than walking to/from the hotel.

Did a lot of washing one morning and this went well. The swimming pool was fine - clean but rather soul-less. Room was excellent - good space and very good wifi, TV etc

We had made a bus journey from Sydney and then a taxi - both quite tired and then to face contacting a very remote voice who tired hard but did not know Canberra (let alone the place we were standing next to) was veru disappointing, even unnerving! This was just gone 6.00 p.m. Australians appear in all places to consider this 'late' - something that as a tourist I felt was a major problem. Finding out about the interesting facilities nearby was left to my quizzing other guests!

For a family room the set up was not great. I travelled with a friend who stayed in a single room which consisted of two separate rooms which seemed to be more suited to someone travelling with kids than the room we were given. It also had a sink in the kitchenette which ours did not and using the bathroom sink to fill the kettle and do dishes was near impossible

The location was very good.We like the quiet and spacious feel of the area. The room was clean and comfortable enough. We also like the swimming pool. We spent a good afternoon in there. The reception response was fast too. We asked for a hairdryer. It was sent within 15 mins..

The car park was leaking in several places, and some leaks were positioned where you stood to open the car door so it was a bit inconvenient. Secondly not quite sure why there were poles installed between some car spaces. They make bigger cars like suv harder to get in and out.... Also the door of the room cannot be closed automatically behind you completely. The first day I did not know it. I opened the door and let it close itself, only found out a few hours later when I came back.that it was not shut properly.

Fantastic staff. I didn’t release reception closed at 1700 and arrived at 1658 but the lovely lady their was amazing. Great location. Comfortable rooms. Awesome pool. Great value for money. I took my daughter for a little weekend away and she loved the place.

It’s not a big deal but the bathroom fan sounded like it was about to take off and land us in Tuggeranong. If a loud fan is all you can say wasn’t perfect it’s a pretty fantastic spot to stay.

The location was great as were the facilities and amenities which had all we needed for a short stay. Special surprises were the heated indoor swimming pool and the inclusion of a washing machine plus an outdoor setting looking at trees. It was lovely and warm and also cosy with a lounging area as well as a desk. Other inclusions were an iron and a drying rack and it was also serviced.

The place was needing some renovations as it was getting tired looking and shabby in places. The shower had a leak and the wash basin a drip but otherwise it had all we could need.

Had what we needed, a bed, toilet and shower. Relaxing lounge and big tv, it was a nice stay and an affordable price.

I felt like it should have had a kitchen sink or some sort of drinking tap/fountain. It is not ideal to get water from the bathroom tap. As well as not having a full toilet paper roll to begin the stay, we ran out but didn’t need to ask for more.
