Adina Serviced Apartments Canberra Dickson

Booked a one bedroom apartment for 3 nights. We got there after driving from Melbourne to be told our apartment had been give to someone else by the manager. Got told we could only have a guest room a third of the size. The Day Desk manager was hopeless and uncooperative (being polite)

I would stay here again because from my experience over the last two decades the Adina brand has always been VERY reliable… it’s just a matter of time before they address staff attitude and issues here.

The room was great. Self catering made meals easy. Bed was very comfortable. Nice to have a balcony where we could open up the doors for fresh air. The bed was very comfortable with a selection of pillows and a spare blanket supplied. Dishwasher, washing machine, clothes dryer, toaster, kettle. . . . We had everything we needed for a stay of 6 days.

Housekeeping entered our room prior to the 11 AM check out(9:50 AM) to start cleaning!! Didn't wait for the doorbell to be answered. Not great considering I was just finishing my shower and hubby was wandering around getting dressed for the day. No excuse for this.

From the welcome by staff to the room everything was superb. Granted room basic BUT the bed was comfortable, room average size, the balcony enabled private time outside, the best block out blinds so room very dark at night, there was no noisy fridge or other room noise. AND the whole complex was quiet, you didn't hear anyones comings and goings, nor their bathroom/tv noises. And yes there were people in room next door. Was close to city and public transport if you needed it, and staff very helpful with directions

Paying for parking but in saying that, parking was undercover in reasonably secure garage

I loved the room and magnificent view over the mountains from window and balcony. Staff chilled, friendly and non invasive. Bed super comfy and the set up guarantees a noise free zone unless you're opening and closing the balcony door as I was to view the magnificent full moon during my stay. Great value and Dickson itself is very diverse with great food and a brand new Coles/old Woolies about 20 mins walk from the hotel.

The bathroom was clean but had a very unpleasant smelI and there was mould under the basin taps. I bought fresh coffee grounds to mask the odour but that was not hugely successful-Plumbing issue and age I think, not the cleaning efforts of the staff. Restocking of coffee, tea and milk would have been welcomed over a 3 night stay.

My room was very clean and felt comfortable. I had a balcony which had a really nice view too. The building was easy to find and tucked away on a quieter street, and access to the parking was easy after checking in. Staff were really lovely and accommodating and explained everything I needed to know without even having to ask. Check in and check out was super easy and quick. I felt like the room was great value for money, I was highly impressed! I only booked last minute as I had to have an overnight stay out of the blue and it ended up better than I expected. Clean and comfortable! Great little studio apartment with easy access car parking for our stay. Short drive to the city / sights or the shops at Dickson. Washing machine and dryer concealed in the kitchen, which was a surprise!

Whilst I booked the deal with parking included, visitors should be aware that parking is charged extra at $15 per night. The hotel does not allocate spots, so first in! No street parking. The top level is fine for large 4WD but the bottom levels are 2M. Luckily my Pajero just fit into the underground car park as guest’s with small cars had filled the small top car park!

Easy to find, great location, clean and tidy, parking was secure and cheapest in town even in addition to the cost of the room. The value for money compared to everything else in town was amazing, and the proximity to family, friends and sporting venues was perfect for what I wanted. The staff were great too and very friendly, I arrived early and it wasn’t a problem to get into my room early.

There’s nothing really that I didn’t like and I would definitely stay again. The accommodation seemed quiet enough, only the odd noise, voice, door slamming in the mornings. There are some elements that could be improved upon cosmetically (messy grout patch jobs in the shower, bathroom door wouldn’t stay open) and attention to detail - I had 2 single beds instead of the queen I booked, however I didn’t mind enough to complain and it actually made it easier to spread out my case etc. FWIW I was also unable to connect to the wifi but again it was inconsequential for me as I have a pretty decent data plan on my phone so didn’t feel the need to complain.

The studio room with balcony was a great size, the view of the sunset was great, the kitchen was excellent with good quality utensils and plates and a drawer dishwasher. It was easy to park and catch the lift up and down. The disabled access bathroom was large. Easy access to the light rail to catch to Civic. Liam on reception was friendly for check-in and when we had a couple of questions during our stay.

All the facilities were in good condition apart from the chairs in the room for the dining table and desk, which looked like they had been in a few wars. The room was very clean, other than quite a few items from other guests under the bed.

Apartment was large and well-equipped (washing machine was great to have). Kitchen was well laid out and had everything for the first morning in Canberra's coffee including milk in the full-size fridge. Lovely view of the neighbourhood from the balcony. With a car this quiet neighbourhood was convenient to drive to the university as well as the main roads in and out of the city. Front desk staff was helpful when we were waiting for delayed luggage. Wifi in the room was good.

Limited selection of snacks/breakfast items in the lobby. Happily found a great bakery in Ainslie.

The room was very clean and modern and the bed was super comfortable.

Because the room was advertised as a serviced apartment, I probably expected a bit more in the way of cutlery/crockery and appliances (eg a microwave). It really felt more like a hotel room than a serviced apartment. This was probably explained in the fine print somewhere, but maybe would have been helpful to put a bit more prominently in the room description so that guests know what to bring/not bring with them.
