Ovolo Nishi

- Elevator foyer could use some climate control. - Reception/Concierge desk location a bit too noisy. (It's a real stretch to list these as negatives, but pobody's nerfect, right?)

Lovely clean modern hotel a short walk into central ANU. The bar area is great for evening drinks or a morning coffee catch up with friends. The vegetarian breakfast spread is nice - the first morning the scrambled eggs weren’t replenished and dry but the next morning were great.

As others have mentioned the lighting is intentionally dark. If you like large windows with natural light this accommodation isn’t for you. Free mini bar is great but drinks a bit caffeine heavy - a mineral water or lemonade option would be great instead of cokes and red bull.

The Ovolo Nishi is a very good hotel, with a good cafè bar and just above the cinema. The place is very quit, 20 minutes far from the CBD (walk distance). Around there are a couple of restaurant. The room was very small and very well furnished, clean and with a free mini-bar

Breakfast was included, and there is fresh friuts, eggs and sweet food every morning. However no meat (ham, salami, bacon) and cheese were available. There is also the manu à la carte. Only black coffee and tea is included, and you need to pay fora cappuccino, flatwhite or similar

We booked the original sunroom and it was large enough to comfortably fit a travel cot (which was requested and provided) for our one night stay. Bed was nice and comfy. Also they provided a lot of complimentary snacks and drinks which was a nice touch. Hotel is stylish and overall beautifully located very close to the lake for a stroll around.

Buffet breakfast selection was very small. Only had eggs as a protein choice. Blinds in the room didn’t go all the way down so the room did remain quite bright in the day. Also the doors to the room slam shut rather loudly. Not ideal with a sleeping baby!

Large room , comfortable bed, good cooling/heating. We appreciated the free mini bar and lollies. Great restaurant and lounge and bar. Friendly staff.

The dark room and passage were ridiculous. I couldn’t see to put on my makeup. I couldn’t read. I couldn’t see the card reader on the door. All the lights were far too dim. this was form before function. We were a couple but there was only one armchair and one stool. As we were there for a few days it was quite uncomfortable. Some fresh fruit would have been nice, but nit essential. this is not a 5 star hotel - more 4

I love the ambience and the quiet in the walkways and room I loved the snacks in the room and the decor. I loved the foyer area. Very funky. A definite favourite hotel. So quiet and there's a sense of privacy Staff were excellent and nothing seemed too much trouble. i greatly appreciated their help.

A very small matter, but a clock would be good in the gym. There is also dust in the lifts as the colour seems to attract dust and lint. The car park is confusing at first due to layout, but easy to work out, eventually

This might be the coolest hotel I've ever stayed at. From the lovely greeting on arrival, to the funky mismatched walls, to the speak-easy ambience and the helpful staff. What an amazing stay! Couldn't say enough good things about Nishi. Will be back.

Nothing against the hotel itself, but the surrounding location is a bit old and grey and not much going on. It looks like there are plans to do up the lakefront and the nearby restaurants which will make this the best place in Canberra. For now, it is a bit of a walk to anywhere nice.

Room was very cool and well-appointed. Not super fancy but arty and I loved the sustainable materials used to decorate it. It had the basics of everything one needs. Breakfast was good. Paid breakfast for more substantial plates but you can certainly get by on the included continental breakfast.

The lighting is very low so it's kind of dark and moody. This is fine until a girl needs to apply make-up! Maybe a make-up mirror with a light in the bathroom might be a good idea.

Pleasantly surprised with how awesome this hotel was, funky vibe in the bar and reception area that lured you to hang out before heading to your room (free lollies and champagne also helps) Then the room is modern/chic decorated and includes a free (yes free) mini bar. Bed was so Comfortable as well. The staff were also really lovely and genuine and seemed to really focus on the customer Overall I actually had the nicest stay in a hotel I have had I a long time

Upon arrival, the staff were extremely warm and lovely to interact with. They had read the notes I left when I had booked the room (it was our wedding night). Check in was very easy as were directions to the room and parking. The staff had left us a beautiful little table with champagne and a small desert plate and card to congratulate us on our big day. The room was amazing, clean and well presented and the whole experience made it our best hotel stay we've had. Thankyou Ovolo Nishi we would come back!

Im not sure about the tv as we didn't really use it so I may be wrong but it didn't seem to have cable or streaming services attached.
