Hôtel Le Rochelois

The location is fantastic- right on the seafront - and a really lovely stroll into the buzzing town in the evening. We were travelling with our dog and it was ideal for an overnight stop - pleasantly surprised by lovely big, cool room with sunny terrace. So welcoming after a long day on the road. The fitness centre and pool looked great and had we been there longer, we definitely would have used it. La Rochelle was one of the loveliest places we visited on our road trip and we are already planning to go back for a longer spell - and so hope we will be able to stay in La Rochelois again ! thanks so much !

nothing - only regret was not being able to stay longer

I was able to bring my bag to the hotel and leave it there hours before check-in and even after check-out as well. I did not book the breakfast but the room it is held in looks adorable, the gym is bigger than expected. I was traveling by myself and my room was really big I really enjoyed my stay.

I would have liked it if the hotel would be closer to the city or if there are public transportations. Other than that it was a great stay, even after the reception closed at 9 pm you are still able to enter the hotel through a side door and a code. I would have appreciated it if the prices were a little bit cheaper. I am a student who traveled by myself and paid 80€ for one night.

Good location, short walk into main centre of town. Great views from the room which all face the beach. Friendly staff. Underground parking for the bike. Clean, comfortable room. Good breakfast choices. There is a gym but we'd have preferred a bar!

No bar or restaurant on site but we knew that when booking, so had a pleasant walk to the main town with lots of eateries. Probably did us good to walk for beer!

Room was large and comfy. Everything was clean and view from room was nice overlooking the bay. We did not have breakfast as we were leaving early. Receptionist was very knowledgeable and friendly, also speaking English. Advised of places to eat if required.

Only downside would be for the hotel to have a bar onsite. But other than that everything was perfect.

Lovely having access to the pool. Hotel is across the (quiet) street from the harbour where there are lots of access points to swim in the sea at high tide. Nice having a family size room. Great little cafe 10 mins walk towards town with a seating area by the sea and a cool patio in the back. (Cafe us on opposite side of road from seating area).

The bus doesn’t go from the airport to the hotel so had to take a taxi.

Clean and comfortable rooms, overviewing the Atlantic Ocean. Picturesque views of the bay and quay. Nice walk to the town centre through park zone along the coastline. Friendly and helpful staff. Coffee, sandwiches and yoghurts were served downstairs in the kitchen. Thanks!!!

Brilliant family room on ground floor. Lots of space with large double and two single beds well spaced out. Aircon in room so we all slept well. We had access to our own patio area so left our 4 bikes here during our stay which made access in and out of La Rochelle by bike a joy. Even squeezed in a cycle over to Il-de-Re with easy access via cycle lanes. Very quiet and great sunrise views of La Rochelle from opposite hotel. Parked my larger VW Transporter directly at the front of the hotel on the quiet road with no trouble.

No complaints

The room was very clean and of a good size. As we were travelling with a small dog the door opening directly to the outside was particularly useful.

Just one suggestion as there was a door opening directly on to a grassed area a mat inside or outside the room would have saved mud treading in.

Hotel: Easy to locate using GPS and was located in a delightful area right on the Promenade. Reception Staff: Welcoming, cheerful and helpful. Room: Large, clean, comfortable, bright and warm on a winters night. Bed: Very comfortable. WiFi: Free and worked well from our room. Car park: Free and on site. There was a refrigerator in the room. A good continental breakfast was provided in with the price.

Everything was good.

Location was good, 200 metres to the sea. 1.5 km to the town center. Boulangerie about 5 minute walk. Although we didn't use the fitness center it looked new.

The hotel, although had a large outdoor pool, was in need of updating as did most of the hotel. Breakfast at 11 EUR was overpriced, as there are other options close by.
