Résidence New Rochelle

very helpful staff, lovely room with a beautiful view. it’s located very nicely with a bus stop nearby and the beach 2 mins away. we missed our first flight so had to check in the day after our original booking. the staff here were very understanding, doing their best to communicate and sort things out for us. thank you!

on our last night, we noticed water flowing into our room (4th floor) and opened the door to see the corridor flooded with water. we couldn’t locate where it was coming from. there was nobody to report this to but it was still there the next morning.

It is very good when you accept that it is not a normal hotel, but a large residence where you have to clean the room and the dishes yourself, as well as to collect the garbage and bed laundry before you leave. The room is very practical with a basic, but sufficient kitchenette. Very good wi-fi. We had a room on the ground floor with the swimming pool / garden view where we could sit and eat also outside. The hot water comes when you wait some time, so it is not a problem. Limited secured parking places inside for reasonable 5 euro, but you can also park free of charge outside at the large port parking place. Great boulangerie and restaurants are 2 minutes walking distance. We recommend the restaurant Le Delphine across the street: great food for reasonable prices and very friendly service. You can walk to the old city of La Rochelle (around 40 minutes walk), you can take a little ferry across the bay for 1 euro to make it a bit shorter. Nice possibilities to walk also the other direction by the shore.

Had a great welcolme from the lady at the reception, most helpful. Had a large studio very clean, large doors opening up to a small courtyard. The swimming pool was a bonus & not to cold plenty of beds around the pool. The ferry/bus was just opposite the hotel nice little ride into main area. €3 euro per person per trip. Plenty of bars & restuarants great vibe.

The walk into town took nearly 40 minutes & was very warm. lack of taxi's in the evening & the last ferry/bus was 19:30.

The location was opposite the Minimes Marina, with a parade of reasonably priced restaurants in between. The Residence has an unheated swimming pool with loungers etc. The rooms are fitted with a small kitchen and dining facilities. Access to the town is quick and easy via public bus service or the bus de mer from the Marina.

It is part of the deal that you have to clean your own room before leaving, but if you stay long enough, for a fee, this can be arranged for you.

Nice location, fridge, coffee maker, shower. Town centre reachable by walking in 25 min or easy by boat. Free parking oposite apartment or in gated area for a small fee €5 per day. Lots of choice for restaurants in front of the house. Pool was nice.

Double room a bit small if booked with an extra bed for three people. Beds ok. Little bar/cafeteria by the pool would be a nice extra, although there are drinks and snacks available in vending machines.

Excellent location for La Rochelle. It only takes a short ferry ride from right outside the hotel over to the old part of La Rochelle, or you can walk along the marina for 45 minutes. Excellent pizza restaurant right across the road.

The pool only being open until 8pm was difficult to get use out of, because after a full day of adventuring around, the pool was closing by the time you got around to wanting to use it.

clean comfortable and as it appears in pictures. My only suggestion would be that the terrace should be check frequently by staff as there was sometimes rubbish left around by certain guests.

Honestly, the hotel is a great please, the room size fantastic. The pool was great, although I cannot swim but I did enjoy watching others sweem from my window. It is not just one of the best but the best hotel I have lived in during the past 5 years in 5 Western countries. The staff were really great too. Just that I do not know them by names, I would have mentioned their names here. Best value for money too!!

However, I was not a bit comfortable when I was told I had to clean my room and empty the bin before leaving. That is the last thing you want to do when rushing to catch your flight. Otherwise, New La Rochelle is the best place you want to live. Had no idea about this before booking the room online. That is why I gave 9/10 for my overally score, otherwise 10/10 would have been the score.

Place was great. Staff friendly and helpful. Pool outside our window. Beach 5 mins walk away. Restaurants across the road.

We stayed for 8 days and did not get any clean sheets or towels. If we paid an additional €40 we could have had these but I think it should have been included.

I loved the vibe of the hotel and I loved how close it was to the beach area. Sunset and view were AMAZING. You also have rentable bikes close to the hotel so you can ride all along the shore and the marine. Amazing.

I thought the room was a little small and maybe the electric sockets were too away from the beds but that was not a big deal. Still enjoyed the stay.
