Moxy Berlin Ostbahnhof

Stylish, clean, quiet, right by Ostbahnhof. Helpful staff. Nice common area for work or sitting around. Good, reasonably-priced breakfast.

I needed to check something with the hotel the day before (my plane was delayed so I needed an extra late check-in) but couldn't get a reply by the booking.com message or email. I ended up phoning them which was efficient and helpful so it worked out fine, but it would have been easier if I could have got a response to the message/email. Couldn't connect to wifi with my PC in my room, the setup where they try to redirect you to a page where you accept their terms of service before connecting is weird. It worked downstairs or by tethering through my phone.

Good Points The staff in the hotel are extremely helpful and friendly. We asked for a kettle for the room and it was organised – no problem. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Cucumber water at reception is a nice touch. Plus there are free pastries for guests. The location is not exactly pictureseque but it’s really handy for the S-Bahn and for walking into Kreuzberg. Also there are funky riverside bar/food yards just up the road. Tresor is 10-15 minutes walk.

Bad Points The aircon only went down to 24 degrees I think. The room was generally quiet but every morning there was a 5 minute session of noisy clanking followed by a massive hoovering sound coming from outside. No wardrobes.

Really loved the central location! Truly 20-30 min everywhere.

So we did enjoy our stay but I would have liked to know some things before we booked it. 1 this is one of their lower ended moxys and the rooms were bare bones. No fridge (if we wanted to refrigerate something we would leave it at the bar) , no phone to call the front desk , to iron your clothes you need to leave your room to go to the ironing room. Also no laundry in the building. I know these are small details but I would have liked to know this before booking. It’s a great deal in price but now I know why. Also one of our comforters had black gunk on it so that was a little skeevey. Overall I wouldn’t say I would never stay here again but I would really add these things into the decision making process.

very modern hotel with a very cool vibe to it. The staff really goes out of their way to make everything very comfortable. Good suggestions on where to go out in this trendy area of Berlin. The location was also excellent for our needs. It is very close to the east side gallery so the graffiti’s on the Berlin wall. And to all the places to go out. The staff was also very nice and helped us with the room that we had. The air conditioning was not working. They changed the room without hesitation, and gave us a room where the Aircon was working and we had a very comfortable sleep. The room is quite small but has everything you need. 

The room is a bit small and has no coffee, tea facilities 

The location, breakfast and room cleaning are good, no major complaints. Nice lobby with awesome staff. The room looks stylish with all the LED strips and the bed is quite firm.

I missed normal table and chair in the room where I can work, so glass styled shelf close to TV seems not to firm. As well I missed wardrobe closet, as four hangers on the hook on the wall sometimes is not enough. Last one,the view from the room was to parking yard where contraction, so you will able to see mixer truck, digger and etc. Yep, there is no coffee machine in the room.

-Rooms were really nice, cleaning staff did a great job -Location was great, 5 min. walk to the East side gallery. Right beside S-bahn station, a direct link to the airport goes through this station, and all trains through here bring you to major parts of the city -Staff were super helpful and nice to interact with

-There is nowhere to hang your clothes in the room which is unfavourable but for a short trip you can deal with it -Sometimes there could be a weird smell outside the hotel ,probably due to sewers, but never inside the hotel

Basic but very good quality hotel, rooms and beds are good, bathroom is small but sufficient. Shower is more than sufficient, be careful not to be flushed through the drain ;) Sometimes neighbours can be heard, mostly in the low frequencies. Tankstation at the back of the hotel depressurizes sometimes which does make some noise. The hotel is near Ostbahnhof so through there you can go almost everywhere in Berlin and if you travel one more stop to Ostkreuz or Jannowitzbrücke, Berlin is at your feet. Direct connection from(to) BER airport, then a ten minute walk to the hotel. Staff is very, very sincerely friendly, thank you guys ! Breakfast is good enough, on saturdays there's bacon as an extra, meatballs are really good as well as the moxyhumus. Overall, if the prices(which vary a lot) are good, this is an excellent hotel to explore Berlin !

It was convenient for the train station and the office. Modern feeling hotel with interesting décor. Breakfast was reasonable, a good range of options. Staff where very friendly and helpful.

Not ideally located for tourism. Some rooms are noisy due to being on the junction of two main roads. Being next to the train station is means its not a particularly nice area with a lot of homelessness. Would prefer more hot food options for breakfast and proper sized plates. Also the breakfast area had limited seating.

The hotel itself looks amazing and new. There’s a nice and large lounge/common area and bar on the ground floor to have breakfast in the morning and drinks throughout the day. The hotel room isn’t too spacious but has everything you’d expect from a hotel room and looks very clean and new.

The hotel isn’t located around lots of shops, restaurants or cafes and there was a strange noise coming from outside and behind the hotel but we weren’t able to figure out where it came from.

Great staff which was helpful and available at all times. There is a very relaxed atmosphere and the hotel offers good value for money. The sound isolation was good as our room was overlooking a big road. Its location is a great starting point for discovering Berlin.

Our room had some (seemingly) resistant signs of use on the walls (seems to have been use also as a base for youth groups, one was present at the beginning of our stay). The mattress was a bit soft but that is surely a matter of taste.
