Courtyard by Marriott Cologne

Everything was clean and the room was comfortable and quiet. The hotel is located walking distance from the city center which is very convenient for visiting the city.

There could be better communication from the hotel on how to use their parking in advance. Also, the facilities were under construction so we couldn't make use of them.

Clean, comfortable, modern hotel only about 10 mins walk from the main station and Cathedral. The room was clean and well appointed. Despite being on a busy road the windows kept out all the traffic noise. Good breakfast with lots of choice.

The air-con was operational, but for us it seemed difficult to get the room sufficiently cooled. So the room was a little warm. Also, the reception area had a selection of drinks and snacks you can purchase. (Which is a good thing) However, we bought small bottles of still water and had to pay 3 Euros each bottle! Save your money and go to a nearby shop.

breakfast was good, but very limited options! Could've been better at the prices that were charged for it. Location was PRIME! Just walking distance from most of the central places, the cathedral, the main market and all.

The services could've been better. We didn't know that parking was 'separately chargeable', so that was a surprise. It showed parking 'available' in the booking, so we thought that it would be included by the property, but it would be better to know if the guest needs to pay separately for it.

Breakfast was excellent and really complet. The room was extrememy clean and the litery very comfortable. The quiet during the night..(when you live in Paris that's so appreciable). The immediate proximity with the center of Köln and Dom.

Tho hotel has a great location- just a few steps from the city center and the river. It was very quiet area as well. The rooms were clean and nicely furnished, the staff polite and speaking English. We had some drinks in the lobby- the barista was very kind, cocktails great! There is on site parking, which was very convenient. Please keep in mind that for the parking the fee should be paid separately and not included in the price of the room.

Keeping in mind we booked 2 rooms it would be a nice gesture to get the parking for free or with a discount- it is 24 eur per 24 hours. There is no fridge in the room which is unacceptable for 4 star hotel and for the price! The breakfast is quite pricy as well!

Cologne is one of my favorite cities in the world and my stay at Courtyard by Marriott made it all the more special. The hotel is very close to the Ebertplatz metro station. Bedroom was quite spacious. Very comfortable bed with a plush duvet. Even though the hotel is right by the main road, there was no noise in my room at all. Housekeeping service was regular (unless requested otherwise). Bathroom was big enough and I especially loved the tea-tree shampoo and body wash. Plenty of bath towels and hand towels are provided. The breakfast spread was wonderful. You've got everything from bread to fruits to cheese, all sorts of eggs, juice, coffee and even hot water with lemon. I tried their pasta and it was delicious. Big rooms with very good sound proofing. Nice breakfast. Very kind service and staff (excluding staff at reception desk). Convenient location: walk distance from main train station, close to nice cafes, shops and centre. Rooms are clean.

Reception desk staff (several of them) are really unwelcoming! You would like to avoid contact with them next time. The behaviour was close to rude. Another problem breakfast scheduling is imposed only during check-in, not in advance. Even if you ordered breakfast with your booking.

I was able to control my room temperature! It's very difficult to find a hotel where we can actually turn off the AC which is usually programmed for ridiculously low temperatures (when I arrived in Köln I was still recovering from a tonsillitis caused by a very cold AC a couple of nights before).

Breakfast was somewhat weakfor this type of hotel, felt like we had few options to choose from when compared to other hotels of the same standards. Nothing really missing per say, but for example, I would have liked to see more bread options.

We stayed twice in a week as we were travelling from UK to Lubeck and back by train and broke the journey in Köln each way. Room was fine, bed comfortable, decent shower. Location was only 5 mins or so walk from the station. We ate in on the second occasion and the meal was fine - and greatly preferable to venturing out late in the evening in the rain!

It would have been nice to have a comfy chair in the room. Not many restaurants within a few mins walk. Overall feel was of a conference or work trip hotel - but I guess we knew that was likely to be the case when we booked with a large chain.

Room, beds, "living room" in the room, furniture wall to put the little stuff. Food shop "take away" with micro-wave and soups. Coffee and water in the entrance.

The smell in the cupboard of the room. We missed the last breakfast (because of the difference of time between the week-end and the days of the week).
