Station - Hostel for Backpackers

Excellent location. Nice to have a room for just the four of us. Bedding was clean. Room was warm - even when it was snowing outside. Good bar with fair pricing. Breakfast was basic but very reasonably priced. Staff were helpful.

Some guests did not respect facilities and the toilet/shower area was sometimes left in quite a poor state. Others insisted on using the shower/toilet as a smoking room - with windows left wide open (leaving the facilities freezing cold in Jan). None of this is the fault of the owners/management, of course, just inconsiderate guests!

Location idéal. Very convenient and secure luggage room, beds comfortable, showers good.

Toilets not that clean, smell bad and somebody's smoked in it

Location is great, rather quiet neighbourhood yet within walking distance to the city center (4mins walk) The bedrooms were comfy and the room was really clean and neat. They provide lockers for you both before and after check-in/out times so you dont have to carry bags around the city or pay more.

There were only a few toilets and showers in each floor to accomodate the number and needs of the guests A little hard to find availabe showers at times and toilets not very clean, especially when people used it to smoke in them because of the no-smoking policy. !there is no access to a common kitchen so there is no access to a fridge or a single kettle so u cannot prepare your own meals easily. There was a bar that could possible provide us with some boiled water but it s closed during the afternoon or evenevening hours and when open they still couldnt help us, so keep that in mind.

friendly staff & roommates. i didn't have enough cash for the 1€ key deposit so the receptionist used coins from a jar to cover me–which i ended up donating back at the time of my departure. talking with roomies turned into over an hour telling stories, making for an inspirational one night stay. quiet room, no bunks, shelving unit bedside. i was able to get a lot of work done in bed.

wish the lockers were in the room but they were a weird size so i didn't feel inclined to use them anyway.

I have booked private room in this hostel because I went as a solo traveler on business trip, and I needed vicinity to central train station. Cologne center, cathedral and central station HBF is really 200 meters away, so it is really convenient to stay in this hostel if you are planing to go to other cities by train as well. Or just to explore the city center which is great for shopping. Room was pretty clean, hot water in shower all the time. Room was warm thanks to large heating radiator next to window. Window is also almost sound proof, so nearby trains didnt effect my sleep. Staff was nice, specially young lady which issued me an invoice on my last day. Sorry I didn't return a room card, since you didn't return my deposit, I kept it as a souvenir 😁

No TV in the room. Wi-Fi was sometimes very poor. It didn't even allow me to send emails from their network, it had restrictions so have this on mind if you are business person. No slippers and floor is a little bit cold. No kettle, you can not make yourself a coffe or tea in the morning. Room was not cleaned by anybody for 4 nights,you have to clean it yourself. As I'm a morning person and I get up early, to drink my coffe I had to go out and find another caffe, as their restaurant and bar ia not opened until 8 in the morning. On the first day of my arrival (Monday),it didn't work at all. It is not opened on Mondays. I have entered a bar once and sat to check the menu, but nobody approached me for 5 minutes, so I left.

I had some DB train problems and decided to spend the night here because of their close distance from the train station. I arrived very late as the staff was going to leave, but the check-in process was simple and speedy, which I really appreciate. The bed and mattress were very comfortable to my preference.

To be fair, the room was not so well soundproofed from street noises, the bathroom facilities seem old, and the shower works but may soon fall apart from the wall. For only a brief one-night stay, I can tolerate all of that.

The room had plenty space and the people that shared the room with me were very nice. The shower was great with space to change/leave towels and clothes. Last but not least, everyone from the staff were excelent and friendly solving quickly any problem I had.

In this overheated summer, the room was very hot, specially after 6am as the morning sun hits the run I was in, directly. The internet worked but it was not steady. So, it was almost impossible to do 30-min meetings with my team. Other than that, in a casual use of internet, it was great.

I'm a regular at this hostel, looking forward to return. Location so close to the station is very convenient and altogether the facilities are good value.

They could do better on cleaning. At such a large facility there should be 1 person in charge cleaning the common areas up until late hours. Sure, customers are to be blamed, but toilets get a mess by the evening. Even the daily cleaning is often superficial. Just one more negative about this place is that in the lack of smoke detectors in the toilets smoking is very frequent in there.

The guys from the reception are very kind, greetings to them, my flight was delayed but I still managed to check in a little before 12pm. I booked a mixed room but only women were accommodated in the room, thank you for that. The room is huge and spacious. The beds are comfortable. Although it is close to the station, you can't hear anything from the outside, so you can sleep well. Showers and toilets are in the corridor common to that floor. But there was no crowd, they were free.

The reception opens late at 8:30 am. If you leave early, you cannot leave the locker key, and get the deposit back. Everything else is great.

I have used this Hostel many times. Perfect location in the centre of the town next to main station. Great friendly staff, Luggage room to leave it until later if you have late flight., good bar and restaurant. Uncluttered rooms, plenty of space and No bunk beds. Superb stay.
