LOCATION! Perfect location! Straight out the station and about 4 minute walk. Located down a quiet street near the river with bakeries and shops all near by. Hotel is unique (for me) with the double door bedrooms and landing bathroom (rooms with en-suite are avalible) Staff were friendly, rooms were clean

MY bathroom was so small, half of me was I the hallways whilst brushing teeth but I am a big fella. I could barely fit in the shower cubicle and there's no way I could turn in the bathroom let alone dry myself It's not overly an issue for me as the hotel was just for sleeping and showering in so wasn't a big part of my day. My brothers bathroom worked fine for him so...

The room was comfortable and in a great location and had a fan which was nice as it was during the summer. The room was cheap, however I was slightly impressed for the price. The standout for me were the staff. They were very nice, and catered to our needs well. We initially asked for two seperate beds in our twin room, which they were more than happy to cater for, and after we had checked out, while cleaning our room they found some belongings of ours. They shipped them to us with no fuss, which was really appreciated.

It's a budget hotel so manage your expectations. I appreciated the small touches like water, slippers, shower cap and vanity kit. The room was small, as expected, but it felt like someone had thought to try to make it as nice as they could in the circumstances. Plenty of hot water and a good shower. The lady at reception was friendly and helpful.

Hotel is rather tired and could do with an update - one of my curtains was coming off the rail and the hairdryer had clearly been dropped and the casing cracked at some point. The extractor fan in the bathroom was also rather old, cracked and dusty.

The bedroom was very comfy and spotless- there was a fan provided in the room which was brilliant as it was so hot. the staff were so, so polite and friendly- very welcoming and happy to help whenever they could. we were able to leave our suitcases at the hotel after check out to we could spend more time in the centre without our bags. we would stay here again in a heart beat- we couldn’t believe how close it was to everything whilst being so affordable. there was also a sink and mirror in the room which was brilliant too.

It’s absolutely fine if you’re comfortable with a shared bathroom- we never had to wait long for the bathroom- it did have a slightly strange smell but it wasn’t awful or stopped us using it

The man at who checked me in, out and looked after the breakfast was very friendly and nice, on my last day he even brought me coffee without me asking at breakfast! He made me feel very welcome. The bed was comfortable, wifi worked well and I liked the addition of simple things which makes guests more comfortable: sink in the room, slippers, toiletries, extension cord with more plugs, bottle of water. The location is also excellent, five minutes walk from train station and cathedral.

The lock of the door to the shared bathroom kept getting jammed and I almost got locked in a couple of times so I always took my phone with me to the bathroom just in case!

The hotel is less than 5 minutes walking distance from the main train station. It's situated on a side road so it's perfectly close whilst being far enough away from the noise. It's an old hotel, with a grandma flair, and one small shared bathroom on each floor. I chose the place because it's so central and because I wanted to remain on a budget while avoiding a shared room in a hostel. My impression was that overall it's good value for money. I'd say it's an ideal place to stay if you're looking for just 1 or 2 nights to sleep over while visiting Cologne and you have modest expectations. What I also noticed is the staff being really welcoming and friendly.

The hotel itself is rather old. The tab of the sink inside the hotel room was loose, which you kind of had to hold on to while using it, and the shared bathroom was also very dated. However, everything was decently clean and again it's a very affordable / cheap price so you get what you are willing to pay for. What may be tricky is the lack of an elevator. Personally I had no issue taking the stairs up to the 3rd floor but for elderly people it might be a problem.

The rooms were clean and beds were comfy. Hotel wifi was good and smart TV in the room was handy. Plenty of plug sockets with usb ports and the built in wireless charger on the desk was a really nice touch. Location was perfect as its literally a 2 min walk from the central train station which is also beside the cathedral and main shopping area. Any staff member we spoke to was polite and helpful as well. At £210 (€240) for the 3 nights its really hard to fault the place if all you're looking for is a place to rest your head at night.

As stated its to fault the place. Only thing I disliked was the shared bathroom but that being said it was clean and tidy and we were aware of it at the time of booking so cant really complain.

I've stayed in this hotel many times over the years but hadn't been for a while. I usually travel here with my brother and he doesn't like the shared bathroom facilities, but on this occasion I was on my own. This hotel has changed very little over the years. It's location is excellent for the city centre and railway station but it's down a quiet street and is very peaceful. The rooms are clean and functional, the bed comfortable. The buffet breakfast with warm and cold items is excellent.

The shared bathroom facilities probably could do with an upgrade. They're getting on a bit and are a bit cramped.

It was my fault when I booked the room that I didn't realize that there is no private toilet and shower, but I have to say that the shower and toilet were always clean! The room had a sink which came in handy. The staff! The front desk staff was amazing!! Each time there was something different, everyone was friendly, helpful, helping and answering everything I asked. were amazing! Thanks

Everything was excellent

Very good price for the location (3 mins from Koeln HBF, so if you travel by train, this is ideal). The hotel allows you good connection to many landmarks as well as a S-Bahn station (is it called S-Bahn? I hope so lols). From the outside it looks rather modest, but the interior is amazingly cozy - I must say whoever decided to pick those particular pictures to decorate the walls has a great taste in art. Vibrant colours occupy the view and it's an enjoyment walking upstairs and down looking at those paintings. The room is quite big and everything is super clean; windows are huge so very good light and ventilation. There is even a TV - I did not expect that so it came as a good surprise! Many power sockets for charging and they are located in smart spots, so that's a plus. In general, the hotel gives a sense of nostalgia and it's like living in Grandmama's. Front desk staff - I have been assisted by three of them - are all very friendly and even offered to carry my luggage upstairs to my room once it was ready (cuz my train arrived quite early and it was not a sensible time to check in; I left my luggage with them and went out to explore Koeln, only coming back to find out they placed it very nicely on the rack in my room). The still water they sell tastes amazing so yeah don't miss that out either.

If there is any flaw, I'd say the light in the room - it was not the strongest. However, I would not discourage anyone from booking the hotel just because of the light lol because I personally (probably due to poor eyesight) have a very unreasonable demand for light. But like yeah even I could manage, so shouldn't be too big of a prob for most others?
