Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin

The staff were amazing. The seafood buffet was also on the plus side.

For what we paid for during our stay, I could not fault this hotel.

It was very spacious, more so than we expected. Very clean in which housekeeping went above and beyond, and they were very warm and very receiving. In fact, all staff members were fantastic. The hotel is right beside a train station so it is very convenient located. Hong Kong public transport is top notch and very frequent. We couldn't book an extra day/half day stay due to us checking out on new year's eve as the hotel was fully booked. However, the hotel let us keep our luggage securely stored while we spent the day out as our flight wasn't until late in the night. They also let us use the gym shower facilities so that we could freshen up before our flight home.

Room service wasn't always available but I think it was due to the number of weddings taking place. Must have came across 5 to 6 weddings from our 12 night stay! It was only a minor inconvenience for us as we were very tired from long days out but there was an eatery beside the trainstation. We were told by family members that we could have ordered through apps such as deliveroo but we did not think of this. The outdoor pool could have been warmer but then again, the weather was unusually cold during December. The weather did warm up during our second week in Hong Kong but the pool could have been a tad warmer.

A large room. Although the room faced the highway, the room was completely quiet, which I loved. The bathroom area is spacious, shower and toilet are nice. I also liked the sauna and steam room in the gym.

Tea/coffee was instant and no fruits or anything provided in the room, which is not really 5 star ish. The squeeze bottle in the shower is very hard and not really squeezable, which makes shower difficult every time. The breakfast, especially the bread and pastry section, is not really high standard.

cleaning staff can pester you for room service. I was late for an appointment one day and the staff member wouldn’t let go of me until I made sure of a time to have the room cleaned and made me miss the lift unnecessarily. spas weren’t working during our stay. if you end up in a room that has one of those in between room doors the noise insulation to the next door room is terrible.

Staff were friendly and kind. The room was nice. Bathroom was great. We loved the breakfast. Small but varied offerings. We got a pretty good room rate including breakfast, even over new year. the pool would be gorgeous in the summer. It was lovely in winter (heated) but being outside, was still chilly. my 8yr old didn’t care and enjoyed it. The pool staff were really kind and helpful. My one year old enjoyed the kids playground. The views were great. Super easy to get the train & bus into town and around. We also arranged food delivery for dinner easily. Dinner buffet at the hotel was pretty expensive.

Not many good food options nearby for a family, so ordered dinner in which was easy, despite being from out of town. Everywhere was a train or bus ride away.

Great location, excellent facilities, comfortable room, great shower, and super comfortable beds.

It took about an hour to check in and about 30 minutes to check out. So weird. One checkin person and a line of maybe 20 people. And once someone was at the counter, there was no quick turnaround. Average counter time per person was 14 minutes. Even after they called more staff, there seemed to be a problem with every check in. Even the most simple checkout in the morning (mine) took at least 10 minutes. So strange!

The room is relatively large enought for a family tour, with a fantastic harbour view. My kid loves the window! I did not book breakfast from the hotel. But there are some snacks and food stores outside the hotel, which are closed a little bit early. This place is just across the station of the University, and is close to the pier to some beautiful island, and the science park. But is far away from downtown.

The location is a bit far away from downtown, then I have not much choices for buying food or attending restaurants, malls.

We recently stayed at Hyatt Regency Shatin for a few nights and found their one bedroom suite to be suitable for longer term stays. Especially now with the East Rail Line having extended all the way to HK Island, this is now a reasonable hotel option for those doing conferences at HKCEC or needing daily commute to/from Central. The hotel lobby is spacious, restaurants and bar decent and location just 2 minute walk to the University MTR Station (now just 26 minutes ride to/from Admiralty MTR Station). The property is located very near to Tolo Harbour with very good harbour view rooms. The mountain side room views are just ok. Bedroom and Living room both have large flatscreen TVs. Living room sofa was comfortable, bedroom mattress medium firmness, decent comfort. Pillows just fine. Work station in the bedroom was suitable for laptop use. There are two bathrooms, the one attached to the bedroom was nice, water shower pressure very good. As this was a suite, there was loads of space, plenty for all luggage and whatever else you might have with you. Again, the size of the suite makes it very suitable for those who need longer term stays for example those doing home renovation projects or in between moves from one flat to another. The suite we stayed in was showing age and a bit of tiredness compared to hotels that opened around Hong Kong over the past 10 years or so. The suite comes with a kitchenette that is unfortunately not particularly useful. There is a kettle, espresso machine and microwave along with two coffee cups, water glasses and spoons. No forks, knives, bowls, plates were provided. However, upon request these were brought to our suite so that we could make use of the kitchenette and dining table. No convenient plugin outlet in living room or dining table area so not the best setup for working on your laptop in those areas.

The hotel is located next to CUHK Health and Business buildings and a 5-minute walk to the University Metro station (East Rail Line). It is also close to the University campus with students’ dormitories and other places. The staff is polite, professional and helpful. The Hyatt Regency facilities align with expectations for a top-tier organisation. I would certainly stay there again.

I did not have any negative experiences during my stay. So, I cannot comment. My stay was totally enjoyable.

I have stayed there a few times. It had never disappointed me. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, and the view was amazing, especially. The swimming pool was nice. There were many people checking in and out, causing a long queue, but there weren't many staff members available. The food at the Chinese restaurant was nice as well but a bit pricey. I will definitely stay there again in the future.
