Nathan Hotel

The staff were accomodating. The place was perfect for us. The chambermaid was very polite and kind. The free breakfast was also a hit.

At first it was very difficult to adjust the temperature of the shower, but we came to realize the technique.

Convenient location. Bus stops are just in front of the hotel, MTR (Jordan) is a 3 minute walk away, restaurants, convenience stores, night market are very accessible. The room is fairly big for a “Hong Kong standard”. Very nice restaurant too where they serve the free breakfast. The reception and staff are very accommodating too! They stored our luggage when we arrived since early check in was not an option, and they also kept our luggage when we checked out since our flight was not until the evening.

An exhaust fan would be better installed in the toilet. It’s not easy getting into the isolated toilet after someone used it..the smell lingers lol! A bidet would be also a nice addition.

Staff were excellent. We arrived very early in the morning (around 7am) and naturally the rooms were not ready. However, the front desk staff asked if we wanted to shower or freshen up and offered us the use of the gym facilities (there is a nice shower and toilets etc with water and warm place to rest) while waiting for the rooms to be ready. Lobby was big with plenty of seating that we rested in while waiting. Plenty of restaurants, shops, MTR station around the hotel, all within walking distance so we whiled the morning away with a local breakfast followed by strolling to Tsim Tsha Tsui and back in time for lunch and our rooms.

Room was not very well cleaned. We found a chicken bone on the floor under a chair.... and we just checked in, so I guess the housekeeper missed out on some spots in the room while cleaning. Otherwise, the rest of the room, the beds, toilets etc were in tip top condition.

Read reviews that the room is bigger than other hotels but did not expect to be this big. Still very spacious even after adding another bed, with sufficient walking space after opening up 3 luggages on the floor. There are enough power points and USB ports to charge all our gadgets. A big stand alone dining/study table is great for catching up with work. The location is easy to reach as the airport bus stops right in front. Spoiled for choice with the food around.

The full length glass window directly faces (or maybe joined to) the balcony of an adjacent room. We have to keep the curtains closed for privacy. The shower is on an elevated ground and a big step down after bathing which makes it a bit dangerous. I placed the non slip floor map there (instead of within the bath) for precaution. Breakfast menu is repetitive. Nothing spectacular.

While the hotel is old, it is centrally located and the rooms are large and very comfortable. The bathroom amenities are adequate. My elderly parents were initially given a room with bathtub. As it was too high for them to climb in with no grip bars for support, the hotel staff were very amenable to change to another room with shower room instead, though it meant they had to stay at another floor.

The room’s aircon temperature is ok for my room but the one for my parents didn’t seem to be adjustable and remained at 22 degrees celcius, which were too cold for elderly.

We really enjoyed our stay here for 2 nights and wished we could stay longer! The hotel upgraded our room to a platinum room, which was lovely. We really enjoyed the lovely living room area, the huge comfy bed and the beautiful bathroom with the massive bath. The hotel was located conveniently, just a minute away from the airport bus coming into the city and a few minutes’ walk for the airport bus leaving the city. It was also in a very interesting area and a great home base to explore the city.

Family Room is spacious for 3 person. Bed is very comfortable and always provided with clean towels everyday. Location is superb. Easy to get public transport, but lots of very good shops and restaurants within walking distance too.

Breakfast is not what we expected, like more variation of dimsum or traditional tea. But location is strategic near various great restaurants.

I booked the Smart Plus room which is about 31 sqm so the size of the room was great. I like the fact that you could connect your laptop or USB to the TV set to view what ever you wanted. The wifi was super fast and reliable for the whole stay. As the Nathan Hotel is an older hotel the room sizes tend to be bigger than the new ones. All the rooms were renovated a few years ago so they all look modern in design.

As the rooms are only on the 3-6 floors there is not much to view out the windows. Also with every hotel in HK the TV channels are of a limited selection.

A well situated room, with every comfort, well designed and relaxing atmosphere, enjoyed an excellent breakfast and as a returning guest was welcomed by name, for me its the bath tub which is the big draw...a rarity in Hong Kong

Not much to dislike really, the Nathan is a good quality hotel, well maintained and rooms of all types are well designed, breakfast has a good selection and staff all all very friendly, I guess what I didn't like was having to leave, could have quite happily have stayed much longer

- hotel ran out of triple sharing room and we got a free upgrade to a 5-pax family room :) - room very clean! there were daily housekeeping :) - hotel staffs were friendly and accomodating :) - great location! Starbucks, 7-Eleven, restaurants were just next door, Wing On shopping centre at opposite, airport bus (A21) bus stop nearby, train stations 3 blocks away, street markets and street food stalls available within close proximity :) :)
