I have been to Cypress Lakes resort over twenty times and know what to expect. Breakfast is a buffet which turns into a feeding frenzy on the weekends. The coffee offered at the resort is not worth the price - just drive to Enzo's around the corner and get a decent brew. The facilities of pool and spa are well kept but the tennis courts could do with some attention (I suspect they aren't heavily used). I cannot speak to the golf course as I did not use it. The villa is spotless and cleaned daily. Wallabies at dawn and dusk are a nice reminder of being out in the country and depending on the villa you are allocated the outlook is usually pleasant. You really have to target specific blocks if you want to book a villa with a premium view.

This is completely my fault but I missed the fact that this villa had a kitchenette (as advertised) - not a kitchen which is what I was expecting as per other villas that I have booked in the past. It was impossible to cook using the kitchenette - absolutely fine if you intend to eat out each meal but not what I had planned. So read the facilities list carefully. Also, this villa did not have wifi. You had to go to the lodge to get access to the free wifi. Not a big problem but if you were intending to work remotely from this place you would have found it difficult - tethering was impossible on Vodafone as I could hardly get a single bar of coverage. So basically I was off the grid for a three days.

Firstly we were concerned that we had booked into a health spa but soon we were relieved to find although our room was in the spa we could use regular facilities. The view from our room was stunning, overlooking beautiful countryside and to see kangaroos outside our window was a bonus. The reception staff in the Resort Centre were very helpful.

There is a golf course as part of the centre and while we were there we encountered a massive group of golfers who were rowdy in the bar. It was quite unsettling. The shuttle bus from the Resort Centre was a bit haphazard, I appreciate we were not the only guests but you are picked up from a gate and there is no shelter if it rains (which it did -heavily). The food was good in the restaurant but the choice was limited.

Friendly staff, relaxing environment with fabulous views and plenty of wildlife. The room was modern and very clean with all the amenities needed for our stay. There was plenty to do within the resort from, swimming, tennis, bike riding, golf and access to fitness facilities and more! The restaurants were fabulous with plenty of selection on the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was also a 24-hour bus shuttle service available for those wishing to have a few bevvies. The resort was located in close proximity to all the attractions in the Hunter Valley. We will definitely return again in the near future to this wonderful and beautiful resort.

Staff were friendly. our room was upgraded for free, and we were provided complimentary late check out. We were also provided a gift for my wife and I's anniversary. The tennis court had a great turf to play on and was neat. There are many pools in the resort that provide loads of room to swim and relax. The golf facilities are excellent and the staff at the pro golf shop were very helpful. The Sri Lankan food was fantastic! It was a privilege to meet and greet the chef who made the chicken curry. The breakfast buffet offers a good range of food. The strawberries were so fresh. The reception area is easy to find and easy for wine tour operators to pick up and drop off to the hotel. Due to the large area of the resort, the hotel offers a good bus service to get to facilities on site. The area is close to some of the greatest wineries and restaurants such as Roche Estate and Tambourlaine wines. Overall, the resort exceeded my expectations for an anniversary weekend away.

The distance getting to resort facilities is not ideal unless you use the hotel service bus or driving to the nearest carpark to the facility. When traveling by foot, there are no shortcut foot paths between the villas to get to the reception.

Beautiful place to stay. Great big rooms, lovely breakfast.

While we were there they had a full power outage- I understand it wasn’t their fault- however we were without power for a good 12 hours and we weren’t offered anything in return for the inconvenience. Still paid our full price breakfast the next morning. We had no aircon in the middle of Summer, restaurant was closed due to no power. Would have been nice if we were offered something.

We stayed in the One Bedroom Valley View Suite (Adults Only) at Elysia Wellness Retreat as a leisure stay. The room was lovely and it was very quiet and relaxing. We watched kangaroos come out to feed from our balcony. We didn't have time to utilize the facilities (golf, pools, tennis courts, spa) but I have been to the spa before and it is lovely and hubby has played golf there before which he liked. This is a very large property but no problem getting around with shuttle service on demand.

I can't really find any faults.

Breakfast had plenty of choices for both hot and cold options. The location was excellent for us as our wine degustation dinner that night was held in the restaurant. The villas are large with a spacious bathroom and bedroom.

There was no coffee available in the kitchen; the bath soap was small for a couple to use for two days. We were staying when a storm took out all power to the area for around eight hours which entailed having a cold shower and no lighting or utilities in our villa. Whilst the weather is out of their control, they may want to consider having alternate power options.

Great pool area great outdoor surrounds. Bistro prices are good including the wine and food. I’ll definitely come again Need to stay longer than 1 night next time🙂 The beds and pillows super comfortable 🙂

I have stayed many times over the years. With good experiences. However I think some of the rooms are becoming a little dated. We had a barbecue on our deck but unfortunately did not work..I also think the outdoor settings near the bar and and restaurant need updating. The chairs are most uncomfortable Clean but food and beverages were left in our fridge from previous guests😂

Beautiful surrounds with wallabies and lots of birds. Gorgeous view of the golf course or trees. Rooms are large with very comfortable bedding.

There’s nothing I didn’t like. But do want to point out that the rooms and some furniture is tired. E.g tiles in bathroom haven’t been re-grouted for years, walls needed painting, doors creaky. In restaurant the cushioning and springs in all the seats were gone. But this is what makes the place such good value. So if you don’t mind tired hard furnishings but updated soft furnishings (good mattress and pilllow) then it’s a wonderful stay.

Great location and friendly helpful staff food was excellent, breakfast included exceeded expectations, great facility's and excellent rooms, courtesy bus back to villa was essential from main building as the place is huge

some of the place is a little run down but it does not detract from the enjoyment of the stay bar staff would not go outside the cocktail menu which was strange for a place this size the place is very large with just one bar and restaurant area in main building so be prepared to walk would have liked a bigger menu in the bistro but most of the classics are there lol.
