As the Bunkhouse dates from the 1950s, its ambience matches its name. It has an honest rustic feel reminiscent of the time when Cooma was the headquarters of the bustling Snowy Mountains Scheme. And when going to the Snowy for a skiing holiday wasn't just the preserve of the well healed. I was given a very friendly welcome from Daniel in reception. My room had all the creature comforts required while still with the old school vibe. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom nicely renovated. The Bunkhouse would perfectly suit anyone on a budget looking for cheap and cheerful accommodation. Not for those looking for a romantic getaway, or a Grand Designs experience, but it doesn't pretend to be. Also, it's very close to town and its many eateries and watering holes. And being far enough away from the main road, it's very quiet at night. The old school heater with plumbed in hot water looks like it would keep you warm on a freezing winter's night. The addition of a toaster as well as microwave and electric kettle is another bonus.

Nothing really. The fridge was in a wardrobe and appeared unconnected, but as I didn't need it, no problem.

Location is really easy. Clean room. Car parking available. Heaters, hot water and stuff works perfectly fine. Got a free upgrade from the manager/owner. Couldn't get the name of the person who showed us around. He was really helpful and friendly. Clean bathroom and roilet. Like the place. Photos bit messy as i took them after I settled down.

New ensuite was nicely appointed and heaters turned on in anticipation of our arrival. Doonas were exceptionally warm.

It would have been good if the fridge was also turned on and cool prior to our arrival.

It was a pleasant stay everything was perfect the guy at the reception was really great, The room was very clean it's highly recommended if you're planning to stay in Cooma for a couple of days.

room is so tiny could not adjust the heater, it was so warm for me room was not serviced each day the TV didn't work

The bed was comfortable,the room was clean, shower was hot, the staff were very pleasant and helpful. over all a great stay.

the doona covers were a bit loud. very bright. the bedside lights had blown, and needed replacing.

Smallish room, but perfectly adequate for short stay. Very convenient location one block away from main street and short walk to RSL club bistro. No road noise. Clean room and bathroom. Microwave, water jug, toaster, tea, coffee, sugar provided. Comfortable beds. Convenient reading lights above beg. Sufficient off-street parking. Convenient friendly check-in until 11PM. I would stay here again.

Toilet cistern a little bit old & noisy (but not a problem). Zero views from the window (frosted glass).

Older style quirky motel in the heart of Cooma. Clean, comfortable and warm. Great hot showers. Close to pub and cafes. Perfect place to stop on way to and from the snow. Danielle manager was very nice.

Clean. Comfy bed. Very clean bathroom. Staff excellent - upgraded me without asking and gave a great recommendation for dinner. 1 block away from the rest of town.

What a fabulous hidden gem! Warm cozy and comfortable, staff were only too happy to help and located perfectly close to shops and restaurants! Loved it and will stay there again!
