Azalea Motel

The check-in and access to the property and room were super easy. Friendly greeting from staff. The bathroom was up to date and clean, as was the rest of the room. All convenient appliances were available - toaster microwave kettle hairdryer, and iron, and extra pillows as well. The table and chairs in the room was also handy. It looks like the rooms can be linked through a door - great for a family or groups.

The foyer and small reception area needs some visual updating - it has a lot of potential to charm guests on arrival, as the styling of the property is standout (hacienda style), but this is not a huge issue for most guests who want a nice comfortable short stay.

To sum up the Azalea motel in one word……….PERFECT…. A most enjoyable 3 night stay. The room had a very large comfortable bed, two lounge chairs to view a huge TV. Fully equipped with jug, toaster, hair dryer and even an iron. The beautiful bathroom came with a delicious rain shower. I booked with booking .com where there is a special requests tab. Being a scotch drinker I requested ice and Lisa the manager made sure there was adequate ice each evening. Another nice touch was a bucket of water and broom with a blade to wash all those nasties off the windscreen associated with country driving. A perfect stay that I can highly recommend.

Very easy check in/out, our room looked freshly renovated it looked fantastic and very clean! We were informed WiFi wasn't great and it's about to be upgraded but we had no problems. Will definitely be staying again next time we pass through.

The only (very minor) criticism I'd have is having to move the microwave so I could plug the kettle in. It would have been better if there were a plug near the bench to pop the kettle on. But it wasn't even a huge problem.

The room was well appointed, very clean and comfortable. The new female manager was extremely helpful. She even delivered a complimentory tray of breakfast to each room. The rooms were quiet in spite of the motel situated on a fairly busy road. The garden area seemed tidy and well cared for. We will certainly stay there again if we are in the area!

Thanks to sturdy walls made of cinder blocks as opposed to bricks, we could not hear the neighbours. Very nice owners. Quiet place. Very easy to park. Decent location. Some noise from the highway but not more than in any other motel. This is a good place to stay, which has a charming little hacienda style.

The bed wheels should be wedged to avoid incessant movement when sitting or accessing the bed. There are quite a few mosquitoes around, but the fly spray is provided. It is just important to remember to close the bathroom window. That helped us. A little sewage smell in the bathroom that should be worked out.

I liked the comfortable functional layout and that there was a table and chair outside at the front where I could have breakfast, which also looked out on a nice grassed lawn area. The staff member (Lisa) whom I dealt with was very obliging, helpful and chatty. Amongst other dining options, she mentioned the magnificently palatial Golden Sea Dragon Chinese restaurant with its astonishing eye catching decor.

It’s a little bit out of town, but not too far.

Don't judge a book by it's cover - the outside of the motel looked old and dated, probably built in the early 70's, but stepping inside our room we found a bright, clean and roomy bedroom and the refurbished bathroom was a delight to use, well done.

Sadly nothing can be done about the noisy trucks going past but that's what you have to put up with staying at a highway motel.

Good location just out of town. Staff helpful and pleasant. Very clean, all amenities. Bed comfy. Lovely garden to look out on although could do with a tidy up in some areas. Pool area, whilst great needs to be updated.

Could hear the road noise during the night but didn’t really detract from the hotel.

The place looks a little dated but the rooms inside were clean, tidy, comfortable and recently renovated. Quick and easy to get items from car to room.

While not the fault of the motel, there were quite some roadworks crews staying there that are a bit noisy and leave very early. Would be nice to locate the crews away from travellers so each can be comfortable in their own way.

Upon arrival we realised that our rooms were set quite apart, but the duty manager was able to reorganise so we had adjoining rooms. The staff also recommended the Imperial Hotel as a meal choice. Excellent food at that location. We each had a larger room and after a long trip it was greatly appreciated.
