The Abbey Motel Goulburn

Ground floor accommodation was no problem to arrange, parking was easy and off-street, room was clean, bright and very comfortable with a large TV, big fridge and ample hanging space (no drawers, unfortunately). Bathroom was spacious and modern and, as a bonus and apart from the normal motel facilities in-0room, there was a free coffee machine in reception available 24-hours a day.

Nothing, really. The only thing was working out how to use the TV remote and Foxtel (I don't have Foxtel at home.) But, as each staff member was accommodating and friendly, there was no problem in sorting me out.

The Abbey was just incredible! I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't this level of quality! Paula called me on the drive to Goulburn to tell me that I would miss check-in at the desk, but she would text me instructions on how to pick up my access card. Crystal clear instructions! My first impression was excellent customer service. Then there was the room - IT WAS ALMOST AS BIG AS MY SYDNEY APARTMENT! This room was huge! And I had balcony with a view of it's gorgeous namesake Abbey from across the road. The bed (particularly the doona) was cloud like and silky. The air conditioning has the genius design of being able to turn on/off from the bedside table. Possibly the best thing about this room was it was dark - blockout blinds and no annoying blue light from electronics in the room. That feature alone is rare. The bathroom was so spacious. That rainhead shower can fit a family. Mini-bar, sink and tea/coffee station, a separate desk... everything you needed was in this room. And the location!? So much parking on the premises and on the street. The Abbey neighbours the Roses Cafe which was 5 star for a hangover curing breakfast, and it was only a few min walk from the main street (I recommend the Hiberian Hotel for dinner and a beer).

I should have spent longer there!

We in Goulburn for a wedding out at The Barn - Leeston which was also top notch. The Abbey is stunning! Beautifully presented in every way from reception, common areas and the lovely rooms. the most specious bathroom with really cool fittings and black and white colour scheme. we booked 4 rooms for our family and they put us all next to each other. Excellent minibar and the cafe - and the room inclusions just leave nothing wanting. The Rose cafe/restaurant next door which seems to be part of The Abbey - go in there! Amazing array of yummy food and they catered the recovery brunch we attended the day after the wedding. The building is totally secure and card keys must be used coming in and out. Our daughter left a hoodie in her room and the hotel called us to let us know - we were able to get another relly to pick up at reception. we really appreciated that call too!

Loved it all!

The rooms are spacious, with a nook containing a desk and chair. The Bed was large and comfortable. The room was beautifully heated and made it a charming space. Best of all, the room had two armchairs which were fantastic to sit, relax and read. Easy two-minute walk to hotels, restaurants and clubs.

This is more advice. It's a two-story motel and if you are older ( Like my partner and me) with a large suitcase. It would be wise to ask for a ground floor room as there is no lift. Other than that advice, it was perfect.

First class from the moment you're greeted at reception. The room is very well appointed; king size bed, HUGE TV, study area, cosy balcony, modern walk in shower, luxurious bathroom with modern fittings and fixtures. Absolute top of the range motel - highly recommended. Ease of parking; free and right at the door. Exceptional staff; friendly and always helpful. The Abbey is so good, we've changed our regular Goulburn accommodation from one of the larger apartment chains to the Abbey Motel. Thank you for a first rate stay ☆☆☆☆☆

Loved everything about this motel. This sets the standard others should follow. Being new helps. Good size room, perfect bathroom, big walk-in shower, spotlessly clean. I noticed the little things like power points in places you need them for recharges etc. Loved the very large TV with all the options like foxtel. No unnecessary clutter. Just a functional room which a tired traveller needs. Located at the end of the main shopping area, in quite location, but close enough to walk to shops. Loved the balcony to sit out on for evening drink. Bed was super comfy, all furniture and fittings were of a good comfortable quality. Kitchen was well stocked with microwave, plates, cutlery etc. The cleaning staff should be commended. The room was left in perfect order and spotless. Very secure with parking close to room. All in all it just worked the way a motel should work!!

I really tried to find a fault but couldn’t think of a negative thing to say.

The reception area with complimentary coffee making was a pleasant introduction. The size of the rooms, the ease of parking, the spaciousness of the king sized room were all agreeable. Also the tea and coffee making, kitchen equipment was excellent. The staff were so pleasant and super helpful at all times. The motel is conveniently located to the main centre within walking distance to almost everything.

The bed and pillows were too soft for us. Also, for such a large room for 2 guests, there was only one occasional chair. There should have definitely been another chair and could have easily accommodated a small sofa. For the price charged there also could have been a table or coffee table for meals or snacks as there was a very well equipped kitchen facility. It didn’t seem appropriate to use the desk for eating.

Really nice place to stay. I’d been roughing it for a few days before getting to Goulburn, and this was treat. The restaurant was closed that evening (not sure it opens in the evenings at all), but you’re virtually on the Main Street so getting something to eat and drink wasn’t an issue. Definitely stay here next visit. I probably would give this motel 10/10 if the restaurant had been open for my stay.

The rooms are really nice, the beds extraordinarily comfortable for me. I usually have trouble sleeping in motel beds but not here.

We loved everything. Incredibly big room and bathroom. Looks brand new and very clean. Our room was on the top level and had a good side balcony with table and chairs. I saw the level below had well maintained courtyards. Beautiful old church across the road. Great breakfast / lunch place right next door. The room was well laid out with a separate little area with desk and chair. Proper wardrobe and a solid shelf to open your suitcase on. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff at reception desk. Very good value for money.

Pity we don’t go to Goulburn much, because this is definitely where we’d be staying again.

The Abbey Motel is absolutely beautiful, the staff were very friendly, it was very quiet and it is just a one minute walk into town. We drove up from Melbourne and had some things to do in Sydney but we didn't want to stay in Sydney. Goulburn was the perfect place to stop and The Abbey Motel was the perfect place for a couple of very weary travellers. We will definitely be telling our family and friends about the wonderful Abbey Motel and we will definitely be staying there again.
