Our 2nd stay at Bishops Lodge Motor Inn, and it's still the best I've experienced in Hay. Spotlessly clean and tidy with updated bathrooms and comfortable, contemporary decor. Comfy beds with quality linen. Friendly, helpful staff. Plenty of room for 3 individuals in separate beds in the 2-bedroom family suite, with suitable crockery, cutlery, appliances/kitchenette facilities to prepare a light dinner and the following morning's breakfast. If the restaurant had been open we would probably have eaten in their dining room, like we did on the previous stay, as the food and wine list was good.

Set up of two bedrooms and shared lounge and bathroom gave enough privacy for trip with adult son. Had all we needed and appreciated help to book last table at South Hay Hotel up the road drop property. had heater going in room so warm on arrival. Is on main highway so do hear trucks but not so bad we could not sleep and easy to find hotel and also head on our way in the morning. Had breakfast kits for sale but we use IGA nearby to buy supplies for breakfast and liked that they supplied bowls and cutlery so could eat early in room and head on our way.

We should have turned heater off in room as overheated despite being winter. Our son turned off his and slept through no problem.

Fantastic staff. Called me prior to my arrival to confirm check in time and to let me know how I could get my key after hours. They left the heater and a light on ready for me so the room was lovely and warm at the late arrival hour. The bed was also equipped with an electric blanket which was a lovely touch given how cold the area can get. I will happily stay here again when next in Hay.

Given the location on the highway some road noise is expected from the late night trucks. Not too much of a problem for me but may be worth considering if you are a light sleeper.

New and updated room, very modern bathroom with a big mirror and nice towels. The bathroom had high quality fixtures and our room had quality furniture. Big TV and a separate kitchenette in the corner next to our bathroom. The mattress was very comfortable and the bedding perfect. The room was very spacious.

The main ceiling light was not working in the room, only in the kitchenette and bathroom. We were only able to use one bedside lamp as second one had no power socket or somebody snatched the extension cord (?). We used the second bedside lamp on the table beneath the TV as the main light was not working. We didn’t mind to have a darker room but would have preferred to be made aware of lighting issue. The swimming pool looked great but lacked a bit of privacy. Some more plants would be good. The location is a little bit too close to the Sturt Highway if you are a light sleeper as I could hear passing trucks/road trains at night.

The room was clean, comfortable and in a good location. The staff were friend and amazing. We arrived after 7pm but they turned the heater and lights on for us so we got to a warm room.

I was amazed that there was no USB ports anywhere. I brought my cable but there wasn’t anything visible to connect it to. I ended up plugging it into the TV. The Internet was great but after a long while the WIFI on the TV would disconnect. You’d have to go into Settings and turn it off and on. Sometimes you had to do this multiple times.

Doug and Mel greeted us with a wonderful country smile and poured out a good dose of friendliness, they were very accomadating to our needs. The rooms were comfortable and well set up, clean and presentable, the beds were the best in comfort as the mattresses were soft and ample pillows available and clean. The shower was strong and helped wash away the long day. We stayed in the queen room i believe well room 22, it was excellent in meeting our 4 days stay. My favourite part was the friendly and helpful service, nothing was too hard and I think they went over and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and were happy to work with us in meeting some specific medical needs. It was great as I could do some laundry, in the excellent maintained laundry with free washing machine and dryer. I would highly recommend staying here, short term or long. It was a popular place and we meet some regulars that also spoke highly of the place. We will be returning again in the next few weeks and bishops lodge will be our base to call home. The restaurant was not open during our stay because of the floods so we look forward to trying it next visit. We can't recommend bishops lodge more, its the place to stay when coming to Hay.

To be honest, nothing, bishop lodge met all my expectations and more. I do wish I had a spot to hang some washing for the longer stay, but the free dryer certainly superseded any complaints there. Thanks Doug and Mel for keeping it free and being generous toward your guest.

The accommodation was a spacious one bedroom unit with a living area, dining area and a kitchen. The bed was a king and very comfortable. There were double blinds on each window and two airconditioners, one in the living area and one in the bedroom. The bathroom was spacious with a shower and spa bath. The lighting was good. Have often travelled through Hay and always stay at the Bishop's Lodge as it never disappoints.

One of the sofas was tattered and past its use-by date. I spoke to the manager about the sofa and was informed that it was to be removed shortly and a new one was on order to replace it.

Very comfortable room. Having a restaurant at the motel was a bonus. The meal we had was delicious and the lass serving us was very pleasant and efficient. Great location.

As we know from our previous visit that the restaurant can be booked out, We emailed ahead to make a booking for dinner the day before we arrived. We got an automatic email back saying our email had been received and that someone would get back to us, but no one got back to us to confirm that. Not a big issue and luckily we were able to book in on arrival.

We were there four days ago , but this time we booked the spa suite with King size bed. it was so relaxing . Spa worked wonderful. the water was hot . You actually have a sitting room in this room . Tv in both , air conditioner in both which work well . You can also cook your own meals as you have a cook top. Overall the room was fantastic clean comfortable, very relaxed atmosphere. we will definitely book again when passing that way .

The 2 seater lounge needs to be replaced, bit worned , the toilet brush was missing.

Good location and clean accomodation. The room was well appointed and the bathroom was great! The bed was very comfortable.

Very disappointed that the internet was not available. I particularly book places where internet is available so that I can deal with my business requirements after a days travel. It was explained that the router didn't function too well in the area where we were situated. Whilst we were offered alternate rooms, I didn't feel like packing everything up at 8 PM at night and shifting over to the next building. I would suggest the owner not advertise that he has internet service available until it is fully operational.
