The room was spacious and comfortable, and definitely a grand building.

Given we were the only guests it felt quite strange to be in such a large building and have no one else on site. If I was on my own I would have felt quite uncomfortable. We have stayed in other accommodation in Hay and I don’t feel the extra cost for this was worth it, particularly as there was no communal lounge area except for the outdoor courtyard, and it was too cold to sit out there. As the cafe is not currently operating this is a big drawback too. The day was quite cold and as there was no one on site to put heaters on the room was very cold on arrival - a large room with high ceilings takes some time to heat up. .

This was a great place to stay with our 3 small children. The bathroom has been recently renovated, the kitchen is very well equipped and has very thoughtful inclusions for children, the loungeroom is very comfy and so were the beds. We also loved the very well-kept lawn which provided a great space for the kids to have a play outside. There were even a few little snack inclusions in the kitchen which were much appreciated.

There are a few spots that could do with a good clean in the kitchen (cupboards, the freezer) and the ceiling fan in the main bed needs a clean. We found it was very cold so I'm not sure how that would be in winter (the outside temps weren't too low and it seemed warmer outside than inside in the morning, even with the heating on for a couple of hours).

Great to see historic buildings being utilised to provide an enhanced guest experience. Good location, roomy, comfortable.

The fitout hadn’t quite been thought thru. For example no lights in the bathroom, only heatlamps. Power outlet with no power. Guest wifi network but no password available.

Everything was gorgeous! We loved it so much we can't wait to come back! We also really appreciated all the thoughtful details and additions that made our stay even better! The room was spacious and the bed was so comfortable and the pillows were too, which was so welcome after a long drive and a week of uncomfortable beds and and pillows in tiny rooms at other places.

The only thing that was a bit disappointing was that the pool wasnt cleaned but otherwise we were very happy and loved everthing else.

Only room for improvement was lack of restaurant options locally - no food except for truck stops in town after 7? all shops shut for Xmas break. Pool not clean and could use better cleaning only in some areas. Shower Very hot with no temp arrestor to avoid scalding(kids) but adults able enjoy. Frequently out of stock for healthier food items.

Lovely location. Rooms spacious and clean. Easy walk to the painted reservoirs and into town. The air conditioning was running so our room was lovely and warm when we arrived. Would definitely stay here again.

We didn’t receive our check in information until after we left. If another guest had not been there when we arrived we would not have known where our keys etc where.

Beautiful old building with large bedroom. Very comfy bed. Pool access. Cafe on site for breakfast, which was included. Quiet. Would definitely stay again. Our room was en-suited. (However, a couple of the other rooms had their bathroom across the hallway).

Nothing not to like! Bathroom door wouldn't close properly without banging it but it's an old building so these things have to be expected I guess.

Lovely room - just what I was looking for after driving from Sydney. Comfortable bed, spacious, tastefully decorated room, exceptionally clean, heated pool with towels provided, good A/C, and excellent value for money given the size of the room. I checked in fairly late, which was as simple as parking up and grabbing my key from the guest entrance.

No complaints. Will for sure stay here next time I come through Hay.

the property was lovely and clean had everything we needed

we stayed in the chapel room we were a bit disappointed as when you read the description and look at the pictures it looks like your getting your room with your own private pool and bathroom in the room. instead you have your room surrounded by other rooms and you need to walk down a hallway to your bathroom and you also need to walk down a hallway to the shared pool.

Large room, comfortable bed, nice hot shower. The Convent is a beautiful old property that is worth seeing.

Pool was pretty filthy, although in their defence, it wasn’t warm enough to swim. It just would have been nice to it around with a drink.
