The location was fantastic, the customer service was exceptional and I would highly recommend this accomodation from our experience for 1week.

To be honest there was nothing I particularly disliked, just one thing if I had to say was the track up the flight of stairs for my 70year young mum to the laundry which was fine for us because my son and myself could take over but if one was alone and needed to do laundry is all I can give advice on, other than this which still was not something I would fault but just some advice for others.

Beautifully located on the water, a short walk to the main restaurant and activity part of town. Well set up, comfortable and spacious room, good facilities. The public areas had a light, airy and spacious feel.

The place seemed very understaffed. We did not see anyone behind the reception counter the whole time we were there. At check in, someone had to come over from the bar to do check-in. Maybe we just missed the times someone was there. Also, when we went to breakfast, there was only the one poor server trying to attend to everyone - after waiting twenty minutes to order coffee we gave up and went into town instead.

Everything. Location is amazing, close to everything. Rooms clean. Daily room make ups if you want. Cleaning staff are lovely. Easy parking. Can walk to mulitple locations to fish, kods to play at the park etc

The pools arent heated so were freezing and not able to use Unfortunately we had to leave 2 nights early due to other guest dangerous and roudy behaviour. The hotel has multiple signs and rules in their guest books about this not being tolerated so we are waiting on a response from the property regarding this otherwise would of rated 10

Waters Edge is a standard somewhat modern hotel for a summer holiday city. Located at the outskirts of the city centre, it is an easy walk to town. Adequate parking. Disability access to ground floor restaurant and rooms, stairs to first level. Easy check-in. Standard rooms are just 3 star rating, there are deluxe rooms. Bar and restaurant also meet that 3 star rating. Extensive beer garden. There are function rooms, we could not see, they were locked, but on first floor with no lift. The salmon & veges were superb; but the spicy chirozo pasta left an oily texture to the palate; the tiramusu was an uninteresting sponge cake; the Devil sauvignon blanc was delightful. We enjoyed our stay, reasonable value for winter pricing.

Carpet joints have perished and need service.

The position of Waters Edge is excellent. The ground floor reception foyer/bar and restaurant have been tastefully updated. The staff at reception and breakfast/dining area efficient and pleasant. Having onsite breakfast for us was a great start to our day. We chose the Continental Breakfast which was good value and nicely presented. The bed and linen felt comfortable and we had a good sleep.

Our room was street facing and while relaxing watching tv we found it to be noisy from Hastings street and people laughing and some other internal noise, perhaps thumping up and down stairwell. Both noises ceased by our 10.30pm bedtime, so no problem really. Also the bathroom was a bit dated.

The staff were helpful on check-in, calling ahead to a restaurant to find us a place to eat. Thursday evening at 8:15 and it was going to be a struggle to find a kitchen open! We dropped bags and went straight there. On check-out I had a hung over wife and we were struggling to get out of the room and were granted 90 minutes extra to get going. Thanks!

Fridge was a tad noisy, and the TV didn't do some of the stuff it was meant to, like allow casting. I think its internet wasn't connected. I didn't ask for it to be fixed though, we didn't go there to watch TV. Air-con has a bright light so when it's on, the room is lit up. This seems like a problem with aircons though as they all seem to do it.

Location was perfect! Centred approximately half way between Settlement City & Port city centre…..easy walk either way. Right on the edge of Hastings River every room had a view of water no matter what direction it faced. Our room faced the side public car park which surprisingly was very quiet & it still had a view of water. Our room was not big but was comfort.

As a safety concern: The children’s play equipment is directly under several palm trees. As we know palm branches are heavy & drop their branches quite often as did while we were there. Luckily there were no children at the time & luckily there was a very strong wind which blew the branch to the side as it fell, otherwise there could have been a horrible accident. Please move the equipment before an accident like this happens.

I stayed in the Deluxe King Room. The room was clean and roomy. It is an older style room but well maintained and comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was great with nice hot water and loads of pressure. The room I had was on the ground floor and had a sliding door out to a small verandah style outdoor space that overlooked the waterway. The location of the hotel is great it's within walking distance to the Town Green and many restaurants around. The hotel also has a restaurant and a bar. The staff were all very friendly and approachable. I really enjoyed my stay and would certainly stay again.

We loved the fact wherever you went there were views of the water . We loved that when we asked for a towel to clean up after making coffee , it was like no one had asked that before . Every staff member was accomodating to us at every point and always were very friendly . Thankyou for our wonderful stay . The chef was amazing his chicken supreme was to die for . I had it twice in five days we were there . I would love the recipe

I think the only want I was looking for in the room was a lounge to sit on .

The location was fabulous. There was a complementary laundry which was much appreciated. Also the shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, shaving cream and body lotion was all complementary. We loved that we could start our morning with barista coffee, available to but at the hotel bar!

The rooms need to be updated, or at least, the carpets need to be replaced. The shower mixer was difficult to find the right temperature, and the water pressure was too low.
