Nomads Airlie Beach Hotel

The room was spacious, clean, private and good value for money. The whole hostel felt like a resort with lots of activity. Staff were very accommodating. Good hot water.

The kitchenette in the room could have been a bit better equipped...and it was difficult to find a sharp knife in the main kitchen. It was necessary to request a blanket, (and I'm not sure the Air con would have done much to cool the room if it was summer)? A common room would have been nice. Maybe a bed lamp and power outlet near the bed would have been a bonus.

Great stay in cool rooms, laundry requires coins but reception can give you change - no need for laundry powder tho which is very handy!! Perfect location, shared dorms were clean, cool & comfy. My friend who stayed in a single room though said it smelt damp & had some mould in the bathroom, maybe they need to consider leaving air con or fans on when no one's staying. Perfect location for everything to do in Airlie beach, beds all have their own power sockets, comfortable, and the bathrooms were so clean! Kitchen seemed to have a lot in it but we didn't use it! Most staff were friendly & helpful. Definitely check out Garuma cafe nearby for the best breakfasts and lunches

I liked how sociable everyone was, the location was right in the middle of everything and in walking distance. I really enjoyed the events in boatys, especially karaoke night when the whole hostel would come together.

Nothing much. If I had to say something it would probably be how busy the kitchen was but that's not the hostels fault.

Location, cleanliness

Staff pretty casual as you can expect at a hostel but a better check in service with more details of property (facility location & prices etc) & local area knowledge and advice would have been appreciated! They had absolutely nothing to do otherwise than chat to one another so improvement in their guest services is noteworthy feedback.

The layout is quite nice Two shower in the dorm was convenient Send you update and event via the app Goki so you know what’s happening and where

The mattress was quite bad No inside table or common area so when it’s cold / raining it not easy to eat The kitchen gets quite dirty even tho the staff was cleaning it regularly

Well, once we found the place, after about four circuits of Airlie Beach, and asking a very helpful employee at the Night Owl shop where you were and he told me you were actually called X base, we were quite comfortable overnight. No chairs in the room was a bit strange, but hey, we only needed a bed for the night.

Chairs in the room. There was only one chair in the front of the unit, and my friend wandered down the road till he was able to nick one from another room - sorry - but we did need two chairs.

The staff was exceptional, front desk people were patient and helpful, the maintenance and housekeeping worked very hard, the location was great and there is a pool!

Very spotty internet in the rooms, the dryers were not functioning properly so laundry was difficult

The Normads side was better than Base side slightly more modern. Nomads has asbestos warning signs everywhere. Nice clean rooms with 2 showers for 8 beds to share

Kitchen was always dirty, no where to hangout when it’s raining. Not allowed to bring own alcohol even though they technically don’t have their own bar anymore. Pool was closed

Location was great, plenty of options with eating i.e. cooking for ourselves or eating locally. The room was basic but had everything we needed. It was a spacious room. The chairs outside the unit were handy to sit on outside. The room and bathroom area was very clean. The bar and restaurant area was easy to access.

Could have had some cups or glasses in the Kitchenette area there were no cups or glasses to drink the water! The air conditioner in the room did not work. We arrived late and did not want to bother the staff. Perhaps when cleaning the room the same staff could check these types of things?

Location, big space if you have a 4 bed room

If your close to entrance it’s loud, ask for hut set back , kitchen is disgusting and smelly and lacks any plates/ cutlery/ utensils but as a backpacker you over look this anyway
