Pool was great, salt water with a small spa connected. Great for kids too. Have stayed here twice. Rooms clean and with all amenities needed. Very accommodating staff. A few blocks walk from Reef marina, taxis are fast if unable to walk. Cafe on corner close by for all meals, including breakfast and drinks, also alcoholic drinks. 8 mins ($25-30 in a taxi) to airport. Upstairs or downstairs options for rooms. Rooms block a lot of noise. Tiled floors. Aircon. Good shower. Photos are an accurate representation.

Larger beds are quite hard, smaller beds a little better. Everything else okay.

The pool was awesome, the kids loved it and we swam almost everyday. We had a family room which was basic but had everything we needed. The water pressure was good, sheets were clean, beds were comfy and if we needed anything extra like towels, crockery, cutlery nothing was a problem. They even loaned us a toaster so we could make breakfast in our room. The property is not super modern but the price reflected this. Good location close to the city centre, an easy walk there or a $10 Uber to the Esplanade pool area where there are lots of nice restaurants and bars.

There were no facecloths.

Very friendly and helpful staff, we came earlier and they let us check in right in the morning which was perfect as we were so tired of the humidity. Our room had a very noisy air conditioner and they were happy to move us to another room with a much quieter one. Everything was great for the price, highly recommended!

Other guests smoked on the shared balcony so every time we enter our room, we had to run fast due to the unpleasant smell. It should be a designated area for smoking because they’re not allowed to smoke inside the room but by the door which is one step away, absolutely no sense at all!!!

The hotel was old but clean the staff were excellent and nothing was a problem. The pool was close the grounds were tidy in a good spot. The hotel was not to far from city central.

Just the dated decore the beds after 14 nights wore thin most uncomfortable but the staff and the cleaning we could not fault. I felt the management were more than accommodating. I did not like the fact the advertising was fresh and looked knew the Cafe bar did not exist although it once existed that was a disappointment. It was part of the reason we chose to stay there was the on site Cafe bar.

Our room was very clean, comfortable with tea/coffee and sugar sachets, kettle and microwave too. Fridge was small but roomy. The shower had hot water and the towels were large and we could exchange them frequently. Tv worked well and the laundry was close by, with easy to use washing machine and dryers.

Our Queen bed was a bit too firm, whereas the single bed in the room had a mattress topper, was very comfortable. We ended up taking in turns to sleep on the single bed. Hopefully a mattress topper will be added , would have made a huge difference for us .

The Tropiq in Cairns is ideally located on Sheridan Street with easy access to the city and a great base for all the wonderful and exciting things to do out of Cairns. Wayne and all the Hotel Tropiq team were great and always went out of their way to help us with anything we required. The rooms are of generous size and are clean and fresh. The pool is a highlight of this hotel that creates an ambience of a resort. My wife and I really enjoyed staying here at the Hotel Tropiq and recommend it to those who don't want to pay resort hotel prices, but expect a place that is fresh and clean with nice amenities. This place provides great value for money and has a holiday atmosphere.

Everything. Room was spacious, very clean, linen was perfect, fridge was cold, bathroom was spotless, even the shower curtain was like new. Air conditioner was awesome, kept the room cold and there was also a very huge ceiling fan. Bed was comfortable, plenty of quality pillows, extra blankets, spare bath towels. External glass sliding door was easily key locked and also steel chain available. Curtains were completely sun blockout and roller blind was sun blockout too.

Comfortable room, close to shops and tourist sites

Tropiq Hotel did not want to accept my booking because I could not get to Cairns on time because of TC Jasper, had to have very difficult conversation with reception person for them to accept my booking. The receptionist did not apologise for putting me through mental anguish unnecessarily. Would consider staying somewhere else next time I am in Cairns if I don't receive an apology

The staff at reception were very helpful- a special thank you to Wayne for helping to facilitate our late check-in and being very kind throughout our stay, allowing us to store our luggage etc. The outdoor barbecue was especially good and we were able to make a lovely dinner one of the nights we stayed with cooking utensils provided by the front desk. The room itself is basic but was clean and good to have a fridge to store our food.

The only minor issues we had were that the shower didn't drain properly meaning the bathroom got very wet as the shower water spilt over and it was also quite loud at times being on the ground floor by the entrance as the windows and walls were quite thin. Would also have appreciated a couple of bowls/cutlery as we only had mugs and teaspoons in our room.

Liked the location, the staff, the pool We were able to walk to restaurants & cafe's which was great. When we realised we were up two flights of stairs staff quickly changed us to a ground floor room which was great.

We moved a bed to find a ball of wool that had gone under the bed. It was dirty and had not been vacuumed under the bed for months. A broom and Bannister brush in the room would be good to sweep every day. When staying for days the floors get quite dirty without being cleaned.
