Hotel was happy for us to drop off luggage early. They said our room was ready then which was great. I had a fractured foot and asked for twin beds. Was given a ground floor unit 1st but was made up as a double and needed twin beds as was travelling with 20 year old son. So she said there were no other rooms and put us on 1st floor with a fractured foot when they had 3 hours time before our actual check in time to undo the double and make two twins out of them. Was just a bit dangerous managing stairs and luggage with a fracture but did it Was just a bit disappointing and inconvenient. Otherwise all good nice feel and restaurant food was lovely.

Fantastic location within walking distance to the bars and restaurants on the esplanade without being right on top of it. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to help us out. Accommodation was comfortable and clean, perfect for an affordable family vacation. The set up of our two bedroom apartment was ideal with the rooms being separated by the two bathrooms and laundry. The Bay Leaf restaurant was wonderful. Staff were friendly and the food delicious.

Some maintenance required on the apartments. New shower heads perhaps and a bit of a revamp to make it a little more modern but otherwise very comfortable and good value for money.

The location opposite the hospital was excellent. Easy walk to the Esplanade and into town. Nice pool and great restaurant.

I'd stayed a few times before as I had a daughter in Cairns hospital. When I booked through booking com this time I asked for ground floor and early check-in which the hotel kindly agreed to so I went ahead with the booking. My daughter was quite sick so I wanted to have somewhere to take her after the doctors discharged her at 11am. When we turned up the early check-in was not available and the unit was on the second floor. She couldn't go up the stairs. It was a bit of a cluster cuss and they obviously hadn't read the booking properly. I'd advise anyone booking with family members at the hospital and similar circumstances to phone them directly and check they've read the booking requests properly. If I had known the unit couldn't be ready at discharge I'd have booked somewhere else.

it was 400 metres from the hospital where my daughter was having her appendix out. Bus stop was just outside. close to the esplanade, it far enough away from the main shops for it to be quiet. the staff were fantastic as I didn’t know how long I was going to be there and just kept adding on another night as my daughter stayed longer in hospital due to complications . we also got a late checkout without trouble. the housekeeping were fantastic also. the restaurant was also excellent as was their staff. So friendly and helpful. the beds were very comfortable and the aircon worked well. the shower was also roomy.

overall the property is a bit on the tired side and it would have been nice to have a microwave in the room with extra plates and cutlery. There was a lot of room which could be utilised better.

This is an older property but was clean and offered us all we required for a wonderful 3 weeks. Our few questions about the room were answered and remedied. If you want an ultra modern place with a view this is not for you but for friendly service, large apartment [separate bed room and bathroom], $6 Happy Hour, very near the Esplanade, easy walk into heart of Cairns and near coffee shops I recommend here.

Our studio was clean, tidy and big enough for us (Mum, Dad and 10 yr old). Pool and bar literally outside our door. Happy hour in the afternoon was great for a pre-dinner drink. Booked a tour and reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

Just a bit too far to walk to town each day (approx 20+mins) in the humidity and carrying beach gear. We then used Cairns taxis which took a few minutes to town and it was under $10 each trip.

Very cosy little hotel room. Lots of cupboard space, good for long stays (even though we only stayed 2 nights)

Our split system aircon worked the 1st night, we left it as it was when we arrived (20°C, Fan was on High & Mode was on Cool) but the 2nd night it just would not get cold even though i hadnt touched it! I tried everything but couldn't get it cold... It was a very old looking split system, so maybe they need upgrading. Also, all the lighting was really yellow, which I'm not a fan of. That's just a preference thing though. Maybe to match the 'retreat' theme.

The apartment was spacious and clean with a few kitchen utensils for cooking and eating. Also provided tea/coffee and some toiletries which is handy. The bed was comfortable. And was not to far a walk from Cairns esplanade which the shops and restaurants.

The wifi could be slow at times but still worked and the bed sheet was like tracing paper and very noisy at night when you moved.

We were delighted with our spacious comfortable apartment. The resort is attractive and the gardens are tastefully arranged around the pool area with other sitting areas also available for rest and relaxation.Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The front desk staff were great.. The Bayview Restaurant staff were delightful as was the food and the service. We loved this restaurant and ate there many times during our stay. The resort is near the Cairns Esplanade and there are many lovely cafes and restaurants along the path. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel which is helpful as it is a longish walk into town. A great place for a restful holiday.

It was difficult to get taxis at times. Plan ahead and use the bus if you have a commitment. We almost missed our trip to Green Island which was fabulous and a highlight of our holiday.

Much better room than the previous week, bigger, more modern with a nice balcony and in a quiet area of the complex. When I enquired as to whether it was the same standard room as what we had had the previous week I was told it was. We really loved this place overall, the food in the restaurant was exceptional and we celebrated our anniversary and my birthday with a fabulous balinese meal. The staff are so lovely and friendly and just go that extra mile to help with any enquiries. We would definitely stay again. It's handy to everything and down the quieter end of the esplanade which is only a 5 minute walk.

The internet connection is very flakey and drops out all the time. You need to be in reception to get good consistent coverage. Not a major but frustrating if you are trying to upload to facebook
