Good location, close to Cairns central, bars restaurants etc all around. Nice pool areas, rooms a but dated but sufficient.

Room wasn't serviced at all during my 4 day stay, 1 tiny bottle of shampoo/shower gel, ground floor apartment looked onto a wall and noisy loading dock of business next door

We had a ground floor room by the pool which was great. Room was large, great for a couple and we'd happily stay there again. The kitchen had all the basics you could want, if you intended to cook there, even a coffee plunger.

The bed was comfy as were the pillows. The lounge room A/C was not cold at all. The inside lounge was hard and uncomfortable for any period of time. The outdoor lounge (which I suspect was the indoor lounge at some point) was barely usable as you would almost fall through it due to the support webbing being disintegrated.

the fridge in room 1137 may need servicing or replacing. Ice cream left in the small freezer portion melted. Frozen vegetables could not be kept frozen for more than a few days. For people staying for more than a few days a better fridge may be a consideration.

This hotel was very convenient for this trip. It was clean and comfortable. We used the kitchenette daily to make breakfast and saw that many hotel customers used the grilling area for dinner. There is a mall about 3 min walk from the hotel, with a grocery store, which is very convenient. The hotel is not the most central, but it takes about 10-15 min walk to make it to the marina area, where most attractions (board walk, aquarium, shops) are located. Many restaurants are also found at a close distance. There was a pool that looked nice, but we didn't have a chance to use it during the trip. We know that the room next door was occupied for part of our trip, but we never heard any of the other guests. This makes for a very quiet room, which is great!

The train tracks going to Kuranda is right behind the hotel, with the first departure time being 8:30 AM. This wasn't an issue for us as we were always awake by this hour, but it could be inconvenient for others. A small detail, but there are not enough hooks in the bathroom to hang towels to dry. Also, the wifi struggled to work in some parts of the room, or sometimes worked slowly.

The studio had enough space and the kitchen well stocked and clean. The bed was comfortable. The ensuite was clean, with good towels. The balcony overlooking the pool was nice for eating outside. The pool was clean and enjoyable. The facility was quiet yet close to shops, transport and the down town. The night security gave us information on a good place to eat as we arrived late evening. Great value for the price.

Overall this was a great little studio apartment for our week holiday in Cairns. Great location- we could walk everywhere and the supermarket was very close. The bed was super comfy and linens were soft. The shower pressure was amazing and the hot water lasted for ages. Kitchen well appointed so we could cook some nights (stovetop and microwave but no oven). It had a fan and aircon so the heat was ok at night. Loved that the room came with a drying rack so when we used the laundry (approx $6 a load) we could air dry our clothes.

There were 3 issues with the apartment, relating to noise and bad wifi. First we were on the ground floor and the louvred windows with no glass (only mesh) meant you could hear *everything* that happened outside. All the conversations on the stairwell & path, the suitcases rolling along the pavers. Second, we were over the wall from Officeworks which got a delivery at 5.30am on Monday and the forklift and truck were beeping like an alarm for hours (see above re windows meaning you can't block the noise out). Finally, the free wifi was non existent - it connected but there was no service or signal.

I booked a Studio apartment. It was comfortable, clean and well maintained. I had access to a balcony with a view of the pool. Provided was access to WIFI, towels, cutlery and crockery. Some basic utensils where provided eg a can opener and a grater. Pots and a pan were provided as well. Cooking basic meals was fine and the small fridge was all I needed to store what required refrigeration. The location of Southern Cross Atrium Apartments was probably the most important aspect. It's close to a major Shopping Centre where there are 2 supermarkets. It's a short walk to important sights such as the Cairns Aquarium or to the Night Market. It's close to restaurants and cafes near the esplanade or on the Esplanade.

In the Studio apartment I booked, the kitchenette had an induction stove top, which was great. But there was no range hood, no fan system. Cooking was made more difficult especially when there's no way to clear the steam so you can see what you are cooking. Plus there was no heat proof stirring utensil. That was annoying when cooking. I also didn't like the air con system as it wasn't helpful it reducing the humidity. The ceiling fan was more affective.

The studio room was big and had everything we needed. Great location close and easy walking distance to everything, without being on top of it all. The use of all 3 pools was good too.

Strange smell when we arrived but that went after a while. tiny little insects that you could barely see but were everywhere. they didn’t cause any problems though.

Excellent location. Pools were great, overlooked one set of them from the balcony. Next door to a shopping centre with a Coles and attractions (Rustys, night market, aquarium) only 5 minutes away. The apartments were well kitted out (pots/pans, even salt and pepper). Scott (night manager - I think that was his name) was excellent and very helpful even in the middle of the night. I can't rate him highly enough!

Arrived at 23:30 and the intercom system at the gate didn't get answered until midnight (I think it got patched through to someone else then). You’re right next to the train station, so there is some noise from that.
