Very hospitable manager, we were met even earlier than the checkin time and managed to leave the bags before our room was ready. The whole place is locked 24/7, so only the guests have access. A swimming pool in shadow was a very nice bonus as well as a little fridge in the room! The kitchen is spacious, everything works as expected, toilets are clean, definitely recommended for a stay!

This is one of the best "Hostels" I have been to. Even when I arrived after check-in hours there was a lovely Lady there to welcome me and check me in. The owner I met the next day was really friendly and considerate. The kitchen and bathrooms where exceptionally clean! I would definitely recommend this place especially for travellers who like to stay at budget friendly accommodations but still like to sit and chill in a quiet corner under the trees every now and then. Close to the railway and bus station!

I loved the location, there was a brilliant coffee shop next door (I'm a coffee snob) and a large shopping centre straight across the road with access to the vintage railway to Kuranda, heaps of eateries and everything you could possibly need during your stay. The home however was tucked away behind pretty foliage and had an old world charm mixed with an organic indoor/outdoor feeling. The facilities were clean, the kitchen was well equipped and the number of patrons was perfect for mixing, chatting while cooking and generally getting to know each other without being intrusive to your peace of mind. The swimming pool was a hit with kids as was the free wifi. Peter was a perfect host, there when needed but not in your face. Overall a great stay, boutique hotel rather than backpackers but with the advantage of access to well informed visitors.

The only thing that could have been better would be a small stool in the kitchen for short people like myself to reach some of the crockery. I'm sure something could be acquired that would comply with our crazy Australian, workplace health and safety requirements :)

This hostel is very clean. The kitchen sparkles and is well stocked with everything you need. Good shower with loads of hot water. Comfy single beds in dorm with no bunk beds. Good lounge area with big TV . Nice clean pool. Opportunity to book trips with Peter on reception.

Peter commenting that I was lucky to get a room due to my age (I'm 56) as most people my age moan about the hostel and that no other hostel would take me at my age. I felt this was unnecessary and untrue. I had already stayed in YHA Cairns and DreamTime Travellers rest. This was a shame as other than this I had a wonderful stay but his comments when I first arrived were belittling and not professional.

Third time staying here and it has always been a good experience!! All common areas and toilets seem to have been renovated recently, all clean, nice and tidy. Rooms are also clean and in a good size, I also like that they are all twin beds and not bunkers, so the rooms have plenty of space. Great location, across the road from a shopping mall with food court, cinema, pharmacy and supermarket that stay open to late. Walking distance from the CBD. Peter (I reckon he is the owner) was friendly and attentive, and accommodated my check in and check out times, allowing me to stay in the common areas hours after check out while waiting for my friends to pick me up. Would definitely recommend and come back!

With great pleasure, we stayed at Travelers Paradise. There is a spacious kitchen and plenty of tables for dining. The communal areas are cleaned very well several times a day. The private rooms have a fridge, and shared rooms can use their own fridge. The other guests are sociable and help each other with travel tips. It's a cozy place where it's quiet at night, so you can enjoy your sleep.

There is no reception, which means people often stand at the door unable to call an Australian number yet.

Peter is a very committed, helpful & friendly host. He was as kind & able to give me a better room with a double bed during my stay of 4 nights in his historical guest house. This guest house is laying ideal 150 m of Cairns bus- & railway station & a large shopping center offering everything. This accommodation is strikingly clean and intensively looked after. Renovations have been done, incl. sound proofing in between the joining room walls as well as waterproof protection for mattresses & pillows. Nice tropical garden with a refreshing pool (without crocodiles ;-)) I wish Peter all the best & a happy future.

Very nice property, well maintained and clean. We came back for a second night after our trip to the reef and Daintree rainforest as it was good value for money.

The check in process is quite inconvenient. You have to have an Australian SIM card or pay roaming fees to call the manager and let you in when arriving outside the check in times. The two times we checked in there were new guests in front of closed doors struggling to get in. I suggest to at least provide a WhatsApp number and share the WiFi with arriving guests upfront to make the check in easier and avoid high roaming fees.

Location was perfect really quiet and also easy to reach the center, a huge mall is right next to the hostel so you can buy groceries easily. We did everything by foot and day trips during the day. Peter was really helpful and nice he gave us advice and it's definitely the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed at. Don't expect a party hostel, we didn't and it was perfectly quiet, people were polite but kept to themselves mostly which was fine by me. Nice swimming pool as well. Would definitely book again next time I'm in Cairns.

Everything was fine. Just one guest was rude but Peter was really helpful. No other problems observed after 1 week of staying there.

Perfect place to be near the city but out of the hustle and bustle whilst also feeling safe. The relaxed atmosphere meant the stay was enjoyable with no noise disturbance. Mixture of solo travellers, couples and families of all ages I think added to this. Electric scooters nearby, ideal for trips a little further afield, however location is fine for walking into town. Perfect for grocery shopping too. Also a lovely cafe next door. Staff are friendly, helpful and can be reached at all times. Plenty of tourist information available. Sufficient cooking facilities for most things, with the lack of an oven. Always tidy and clean. Great that single rooms have their own fridge. No issues with shared bathrooms, always clean and stocked with toilet paper and hand towels. Lovely courtyard area and pool to sit or soak up the sun. WiFi is great. A wonderful stay, which is why I made a second booking. Would definitely book again and recommend.
