Top bed was free (as it seems permanently)so only 4 persons in one room not 8. Kitchen was well equipped and always clean (but there weren’t so many users when I was there). Baths are very good and there are a lot of toilets and showers. Was a bit dirty under the bed, so maybe don’t put your luggage there.

It was dirty under the bed. Also the lockers are a bit old and some are broken. They could also be cleaned. For me the bed was too short but I am used to this (207 cm). Power sockets are only in the lockers, not directly at the bed.

Lovely stay in a great old Dame of a pub - this was my second stay so I knew what to expect. I've stayed in a private room to myself and now a dorm room, women only (yes I am a woman, booking.com stop putting Mitchell as my first name please). Comfy bed, it's a bunk but the top bed is for storage only! Which gives more space but the facilities could do with a little updating. Polite punters even food to share in the shared kitchen facilities and free marshmallows! The luck of the draw will bring me back here. Do mind the disabled toilet showers they all flood so no stress. I nicked some towels for the excess water from the kaundry. Wonderful old balcony to plonk yourself on and enjoy. The cleaning staff seemed to all have a rakish cough but now vaping is at an end I hope the team have made it through.

Difficult to achieve 'soft' light next to the bed. Flooding shower, slight lack of crockery choices.

The room was clean and comfortable and the shared facilities were also clean and well-kept. There is also a shared living space with everything you may need. They also have a smoking area on the balcony as the front doors are locked at night which adds more safety and comfortability.

There was a man smoking down the hallway from us which is not the establishments fault at all and I don't think man really cared about it at all. I know you guys have rules for this and its hard to keep up with these things when you guys are so busy downstairs so stress less. I'm just not a smoker so it smells gross to me but like... anyways.

Very friendly & welcoming staff, especially the cleaners who did an excellent job & taking pride in keeping the place spotless & providing fresh towels & soap. Hospitality staff very pleasant & friendly. Reception staff very welcoming & accommodating. People who were staying @ the hostel valued & respected the place & were very helpful & friendly. All of this denotes there must be great & caring management @ this hotel when it trickles down to the staff & residents. It was a great place to stay, safe & comfortable & I’m really grateful to have stumbled across such an oasis in the wandering desert of traveling & would definitely stay again without hesitation. A very enjoyable stay. Thank you all @ Coolangatta Sands😀

The single room was a double that opened onto wide veranda, it was close to clean bathrooms and a small but well equipped kitchen.The bus service is excellent and nearby as are shops other bars and supermarkets

No lift so stairs and storage was not available until 10am which was not helpful for an earlier pick up. I had expected band noise but nothing prepared me for being woken at 12pm Friday as if band was in my room deafening then the smokers section of veranda partied until 3am! This is a working tavern with bar’s restaurants and pokies so there were long waits at reception.

Location = excellent, right down street from where I needed to be all week, and close enough to walk to from the airport. Room = fine (air con, amenities nearby, bed a little soft but no worse than most holiday accoms).

Small amount of mold on underside of top bunk mattress. 3 morning showers went --> Friday = warmish after a few minutes, Saturday = luke warm at best, Sunday = stone cold. Had 1 problem getting in the front door Friday night (door wouldn't budge), managed to call staff (another Stacey) who helped and worked out the issue.

The room is basic, but the bed was comfy as were the pillows, the sheets were warm. It was quiet when I got home and went to bed (after splendour) and the security protocols made me feel safe. The bathrooms were incredibly clean (it was also 5am when I used them). For the price, and being a “2 star” hotel, I was genuinely expecting less.

The curtains were a little drab, and the room as mentioned is basic. But everything was clean! A negative for me is shared bathrooms, but I knew that when I booked

We stayed one night as a transit for an early flight from GC Airport the following morning. It was a perfect place to stay, very close to the airport and staff were very helpful with arranging early morning taxi. Everything was very clean, loved the large verandah and day beds. Great central location to beach and shops and restaurant and bars on premises offering great value daily meal specials

The location is amazing as it’s both close to Coolangatta beach as well as Kirra beach. The private room featured a nice carpet and enough storage space. We also had our own entrance door towards the shared balcony. The kitchen as well as the bathroom and all other public areas were always very clean and staff was very friendly!

As it’s located right on top of a bar, especially on the weekend it gets pretty loud! Either you’re fine with the noise or you put earplugs in like me - then it works well :)

Kitchen facilities. Good security. Handy to town. Lovely new bathrooms.The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Air con a huge plus. Loved the big balcony out front.

Twin bed room. Blackout curtains required in room. Door lock onto balcony needs to be secured better. A little stool or table between beds for a couple of water would be good, Bathrooms excellent. Just needs toilet paper and soap dispensers filled up more regularly. Room gets a lot of noise from downstairs but couldn't be helped. Just really minor things but would make the stay better.
