We did not have any breakfast due to early departure, so I cannot comment on it, The building does have a lot of heritage as it is got in its name, a gorgeous spot on the bank of the river, we got it at a discount price of $80 practically half of the usual price, and that's about the price it should have in general, 2 floors above the pub one really can't hear the noise from it upstairs. But it is there, with lovely live music and cold beer one would appreciate after day-long driving. The gorgeous, smiley young receptionist was super polite and hospitable even when she said NO WiFi and lift to the 3d floor:) Yes, This old timer has its downs as well.
The balcony that goes around the building resulting that no one can leave the doors open due to people walking by and smoking outside on the balcony and smoke filling up your room, do you like it or not. Also as I mentioned above there is no lift to the accommodation floor and one needs to climb to the third floor 3 sets of very stiff stairs, for an old crumpled man like myself, it was torture. The lack of WiFi is really unexpected and unacceptable nowadays, especially when the standard room price is between $135-155 a day even more so. Crazy cockatoos in hundreds were extremely loud at sunset and sunrise, but it has nothing to do with the hotel and we actually liked them regardless.

Location and price - staff member very friendly Read some reviews wasn’t sure whether we did the right thing - people complaining about all the stairs - omg it’s a 3 storeys old pub - I got bad knee and coped- while they have done renovations the shouts and toilet could do with a make over but the water was hot pressure good and it was clean Would we stay again yes
Picked Saturday night - 18th - 21st - and a Di - but that’s expected at a pub - can’t complain for $50 The worded thing was the blower over the road at the park started at 6:30 omg

Great location right in Rockhampton opposite a park. It is a beautiful older building and the room was small but comfortable perfect for what we wanted to use as a base as we spent our days out and about Rockhampton. Walking distance to other resaurants. Also plenty of on street parking available.
The guest rooms are all upstairs and there is no lift. So no disabled access and you need to carry all your bags up 2 flights of stairs. The shared bathroom did not seem to be cleaned each day. Also left the sign on our door for the room to be made up and this was not done which meant that we did not recieve fresh towels and had to go and chase this up as there was not space in the room to dry them.

A beautiful building I enjoyed the sunrises on the verandah each morning The hotel was very clean everything you needed was in the room Fridge Kettle Microwave Plates 🍽 Cups The Bed was very comfortable slept 😴 💤 soundly even with the Pub noise which did not disturb me The shower was small but great water pressure Air-conditioning was a plus Being a sole traveller I felt very safe in the room Definitely be back
Even though I felt safe in the room The door's to the veranda were very hard to close

Staff extremely helpful.in acommodating my needs a well as they possibly could. Delicious meal in the dining room Chosen for the location near to bus & train stops, the dining availability & the " heritage " nature of the venue
All the accommodation is on the 3rd floor - with no lift. I was grateful that my case was carried up for me, but I had to get it down myself at 5am the next morning - not an easy feat for an over 70 female.. Very few rooms are located close to the bathroom. I accepted an upgrade of $21 to move much closer ( I was originally allotted the opposite end of the long hallway - the length of the building Very basic tea/coffee provided - need to go to the bathroom for water Bathroom rather like beach side amenities

The hotel offered exceptional value for money in a charming piece of history! The meals were 10/10. Try to make it for Thur steak night if you can The accommodation itself is modest clean and offers all that a weary traveller requires. Clean coyly bed, coffee tea tv and clean shared bathroom. There is a/c and fans and a verandah to die for You cannot beat the location and we felt secure with good security We talked about this place long after we left We will be back on the next trip!!

The location was good. I used the local bus several times to go to the zoo. The restaurant was excellent but they do stop serving very early. If I locked myself out of the room I don't know what I would do, it's hard to find employees in the evening and morning hours.
It was quite a walk to the bathroom at 3:00 a.m.

The hotel was a magnificent relic from days gone by. I relish staying in these antiquated places that have more appeal in one staircase than all the flash modern characterless hotels. Grandeur is a describing word I’d use on this old lady who is past the point of a facelift, but no one cares as she is beautiful still.
Just wish I hadnt been growled at for not leaving the key at the check in section of the bar when I left in the morning. No one told me not to leave it in my room. That’s where I leave the keys to all the other hotels I’ve stayed at.

Your meals are outstanding, your staff is super nice, close to everything, value for money.
Bed was itchy, most likely the washing powder used, I'm sensitive, but not your fault at all, it's me not you, but I couldn't sleep in it. Fridge was off and no way to fill up the jug besides walking all the way down to the bathroom. There is a nightclub next door which I didn't realise. Just drifting off to sleep n the nightclub kicks off, if balcony door was closed it probably wouldn't have been so loud, but anyway. Nothing major I couldn't handle.
