Check-in was simple and quick, the room was comfortable with a large bed and a chaise longue. The bathroom was reasonably large, but with only a shower. The curtains kept the morning sun out so that we could sleep in. The hotel provides chilled, filtered water from a dispenser near the lifts, which was a good alternative to bottled water. There was adequate tea (bags) and coffee (instant) in the room and a small container of milk in the fridge. The room safe worked fine to hold our valuables. Breakfast was quite good with a good range of cold and hot dishes, though the breakfast room is not very big.

Parking is outside, in the main, with very few undercover parks. Perhaps this could have been stated? It's still better than the new hotel on the coast which doesn't have any parking (I presume many people walk to the Sunshine Coast... ;) ). As we've found with some other hotels, the builders put the wrong slope on the shower area, so that water runs away from the drain. In this case it didn't overflow the bathroom floor, but it's annoying.

Generally of a good standard. Staff is excellent. Good housekeeping standard. Very handy to the Sunshine Coast University Private and Public Hospitals.

Room service closes too early at 8.00pm. Particularly if you're visiting someone in hospital in the early evening or are on business. There was a function on whilst I was there and catering was operating for that. At 8.10pm I couldn't get any food in my room after a long day at the hospital. Even if the full room service menu isn't available, a toasted sandwich or something else that's simple should be available until around 10.00pm. There are no restaurants of cafes nearby that are open after about 3.30pm. The nearest food place e.g. Maccas, was several kms away. I was told by reception to call Uber Eats. Not good enough. Need instructions in the room on working the tv i.e.getting into the tv programming. Not a place to stay if you don't have a car.

Exceptional Friendly Staff, accommodation quality, meals, and parking is perfectly positioned [ for those with mobility issues, ] for those who move freely then it is right at the door anyway. Right from the smoothness of booking to arrival to stay to departure was perfectly seamless at all times. Staff were incredibly helpful and incredibly polite with a deep knowledge of what can and cannot be done. Help was available with a smile to go with a can-do attitude [ within rules and guidelines I would imagine ] Bed was comfortable, and the room was very clean and tidy with amenities available tea coffee sugar milk. The air conditioner worked really well to make the room comfortable to stay in at my perfect temperature level. The meal I ordered was served with a smile, also to clearly note my meal was of excellent quality with minimal wait times from order to serving a huge tick all around. My view just made my stay even more pleasant. I do highly recommend staying at Mercure Kawana Waters to anyone I can who is wishing to stay at or around that area.

My only rather small thing was the pillows, and me not being used to these types. Nothing wrong just not my first preference, am used to softer pillows.

A mix up at checkin was resolved quickly and professionally. The room was as described if perhaps a bit small and the bed comfortable

The location was more suburban than expected with limited retail or dining options in the area. On-site parking bays were very small and limited in number. The meal we ordered at the Wildflower restaurant was tiny and managed to be part overcooked and part raw. Upon discussion with the wait staff they advised the size of the meals for the prices charged was raised with the chef previously so perhaps managers should find a resolution or after our experience a new chef. Wait staff were very polite and accommodating and offered a free round of drinks for our table.

It was comfortable and close to everything I wanted to see and do. Everyone was lovely. I was just a tad disappointment with the included breakfast (see what I didn't like for more information on why).

I paid for a room which included breakfast. I didn't know I had to actually come down to the restaurant to have breakfast for it to not cost me extra! So, I had breakfast delivered both days to my room and on check out I was a little surprised when I had to pay extra. (It was the room service delievery fee $6.00, which didn't bother me as I was happy to just relax in my room and eat + the cost of my breakfast which was $26.00, so in total $38.00 extra on top of a room that had breakfast included... Breakfast should be both ways (restaurant or room service) and not cost extra especially when you already paid for breakfast to be included.

My son had surgery at the local hospital & the staff at the mecure Kawana waters made the stressful experience as easy & as comfortable as it possibly could be. Everyone was so friendly & accommodation. We were moved to a larger room with no extra cost. Charlotte in the restaurant was so lovely offering to go above & beyond where ever she could. And Rashad (Im sure the spelling is incorrect) at reception was so kind, professional & accommodating. I can't thank them them enough.

The restaurant was excellent - especially the evening meal! I was just sorry it was shut for Saturday lunch. The wait staff were also really pleasant.

The desk staff were very unhelpful in assisting with a slightly extended checkout request (noting I sought this to allow my partner to be discharged from a sudden emergency hospital stay). I’d booked my stay at the hotel because it was next to a major hospital when my partner was transferred there by ambulance.

Warm welcome on arrival. Had failed to request disabled room this was sorted quickly. Good under cover parking for disabled. Room was good with space for walking aid. Bathroom provided good space and facilities

Could only get radio stations on the button marked “TV”. Failed to get any tv stations despite following directions with my smartphone- did not complain or seek help since not so bothered about tv for one night

This was the second time we've stayed and we'd definitely stay again.

On the Saturday we came back to the room, and there was a distinct bad odour in the bathroom. We didn't have time to stay in the room long due to commitments, but when we came back in the evening to sleep it was still quite strong so we closed the bathroom door and kept the exhaust fan on to try and ventilate.

Lovely reception staff (didn’t catch the ladies name but she did say she was new to the area)

Found it quite annoying that there were only 2 towels even though the room was for 3 people (very small complaint). Found the lip between shower and rest of the bathroom floor insufficient as the water ran all through the bathroom floor each time the shower was used
