The Bay Hotel Apartments is a reasonably large complex and appears to provide visitors with a colonial Hobart Town look. Reception on arrival was formal with instructions given regarding parking room service and room location. The apartment is very spacious and of an open plan type, reminiscent of a studio style of accommodation. The lounge area consists of a comfortable sofa as well as a dining table and chairs. Also contained in the same area is a small kitchenette, well provisioned with kitchenware. While still very much a part of the same open plan style, the bedroom space is identifiable by a wonderful luggage table that provides access to one’s luggage at a far greater height than the usual luggage support furniture. The bedroom area contains a large comfortable bed and great sidelights. The bathroom is of a good size and contains an exceptionally powerful shower over the bath. Care does need to be taken to ensure the curtain remains within the bath while showering and that the bathmat hanging over the bath is removed to avoid saturation experiences. Excellent Guest Compendium. Well located, being in the Sandy Bay shopping area and close to Battery Point and Central Hobart. Excellent Wi-Fi provided.

The location & free onsite parking were great. Walking distance to Salamanca Market & the waterfront. Short walk to Woolworths & restaurants. Solo pizza & pasta nearby had fantastic service & great food. The 2 bedroom apartment setup worked well for a family of 4

Was concerned about road noise on arrival but didn’t hear anything overnight in our apartment

Good cooking facilities, closeness to cafes, restaurants, grocery shopping and a short taxi ride to the city. We appreciated the quick response by reception staff to the faulty flush system of the toilet. A plumber was speedily dispatched and he fixed the problem quickly. It was great to have a bath in the bathroom too.

I would have liked a lamp in the sitting area. There were good lamps next to the bed. I don't like a single switch operating all the lights so didn't switch them on at night which meant it was a bit too dull near the couch, A lamp near the couch would have been good. The toilet flushing system needs updating. Maybe new toilets?

First time visiting Tassie & was down here for some athletic endeavours. Not knowing anything about Tassie nor previously visited as this was my first time, I booked this place by chance & turns out it was the perfect location. All necessities of groceries, restaurants, coffee shops are all within walking distance & if you’re a bike rider of any sort, Bay Hotel are right next door to MyRide. The bus if need be is only 1.5km up the road which was perfect. The room I booked was fantastic. Clean & extremely comfortable in addition to having a kitchen with all cooking utensils if you ever want to cook for yourself. 10/10 & will book here again!

Excellent value for money! Studio was very clean and well presented. I appreciated the small additions such as shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser etc as I was travelling light with carry on only. Kitchen was well equipped to make own breakfast before setting out for the day. Location was fantastic - easy 20 min walk into town for all the markets/museums etc, buses just outside to get further out and beautiful close strolls around Sandy Bay and Battery point. Coles and woolies a few mins walk. Good bakery and eating options. It was quiet at night and the bed was comfy. Staff were lovely. I will definitely be back.

Very clean with modern fixtures. Great TV, nice little kitchen, superb water pressure in the bathroom. Perfect location with shopping and lots of food outlets within walking distance. Parking is great.

Just a suggestion. All the unit lights are on one switch (at the door and by bed). It would have been much more comfortable if the overhead light above the bed could have been switched separately, leaving the other 4 unit lights on. When one person goes to bed before the other, that lighting causes issues.

It was a quick overnight stay and so nothing was required other than a comfy bed and a hot shower both of which were well provided and gratefully received. Bathroom sundries were lovely. Ground floor room was appreciated as we were making an early departure. Check in was friendly and efficient.

There is no seating area in the room I occupied and so the TV is in a slightly awkward spot to watch from the main bed, however this wasn't a major issue as you could sit on the single bed to watch TV if required.

Excellent central location, surrounded by the Sandy Bay shopping precinct and 15min walk into town, waterfront and Salamanca. Close to local cafes, supermarkets and bakery. We stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment, with a self-contained kitchenette and quiet a large bathroom. It was clean, well presented with comfortable beds, heating, free off-road parking and a guest laundry. We were able to store our luggage there while we did a 4 day walk and receptionist staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Great value for money, and we'd definitely stay again!

This was not a problem for us, however some apartments are on the first floor accessed via a flight of stairs, which could be a problem for some and the shower was over a bathtub which could also be an access problem for some guests.

Clean, cosy and just what we needed for a short stay in Hobart. We arrived late but staff were on hand to direct us to be able to access the apartment. Plenty of space to park the car.

Our room was on the ground floor next to the smoking area so probably would have preferred another apartment but it didn't bother us too much. Although cosy, the apartment was on the small side and didn't have an oven which is slight disadvantage so would probably book a bigger apartment next time.

Nice little kitchen. Good AC downstairs . Location to Hobart. Lots of food option available within easy walking, x3 coffee shops, x2 pubs and woolworths.

The bedrooms of our apartment were on 2nd floor. Accessed by narrow staircase with railing only on one side. Railing is screwed to 2nd storey floor with insufficient space to grip balustrade. Could be a fall hazard if you need to use toilet at night as bathroom on ground floor. Could be a finger hazard when holding on when walking up stairs.
