Salamanca Inn

bed was great room and location were both really good. Location was great could walk to the salamanca markets and was handy for the ferry ride to Mona. The people on the front desk were very polite and helpful . The dinner was very very good although a little expensive.

not anything to really complain about. As I said above a little expensive for the evening meal but it was very good. The initial room had a shower over the bath my wife has trouble getting in and out of these but we asked the staff if we could change rooms which they did happily . Maybe let people know that shower is over the bath on the web site it does not show this. Thats the only thing we could fault with our stay.

When we initially booked the accommodation (across the street at the apartments), I wasn't told that the car parking was in a separate area. We have stayed plenty of times before so had all our bags out of the car at reception expecting to go upstairs. Had we known before we would have left our bags in car and driven over. Also, when I moved the car across to that location, I wasn't told there would be a parking fee. Usually when we stay it is free parking. I understand that there must be a fee of $15 per day. Had i known that I would have just left the car in the free parking area instead.

The perfect location. Near to the city, shops, tour buses, wharf, restaurants and the wonderful Salamanca market on your doorstep. Our room was spacious, quiet and comfortable with everything you needed. King size, comfy bed and plenty of streaming choices on the big TV. Large table and chairs were a bonus as many places don’t have them at all. Elevators always magically there when you pressed the button with no waiting time. Staff were always helpful with our queries and room cleaned daily. Would highly recommend Salamanca inn.

Amazing location, friendly staff, kids loved the pool. Reception area is lovely.

No aircon in the adult room upstairs. We were there over new year and it was very hot, even with the window open. The children's room is off the living room so we couldn't put them to bed then chat or watch tv in the living room as we would have woken them. Again no aircon in the kids room so the door is just a louvre door to allow some air in. Not good for blocking light or noise though! We would have put the kids upstairs in the double bed, but it was too hot for them to sleep up there. We were able to sit on the balcony to have dinner which was fine, though very small.

Great hotel, location clean and tidy.

If you want to have a sleep in and late checkout, it was a bit noisy with the staff who were cleaning out the rooms having conversations outside our door with please do not disturb.... normally, it means I am trying to sleep or relax.... 2 mornings of it was a bit frustrating.... I haven't had that before. There was quite a bit of yelling to each other up the corridor as well. The hotel was lovely, just not sure we would stay again if that was to happen.

Location - Absoloutley Fantastic. Staff - friendly. Facilities good and clean - bit squishy for 5 people and single / bunk beds very soft. ( 3 peoplpe squished into one small room but queen bed in much much bigger room- waisted space would have been more use in room with 3 people- kitchen equip extremly basic - nice touch would have been cling film foil etc to save food purchased in local shops and markets. Excellent laundry facilities but clothes rack to dry washing instead of using dryer woukld have been very useful. (dryer enviromentally extrvagant) Living room set up not comfotable - tv in strange location / had to turn furniture to view tv. had to ask several times for more toilet paper. (But staff were always nice and friendly when delivered)

The room was quite spacious, with plenty of storage and kitchen facilities. The bathroom also had plenty of space but unfortunately the shower was over the bath (luckily for me they had some solid towel rails inside the shower area for grip). There was no balcony but had large windows to let in the light (very welcome during my final morning when the area was subjected to a surprise electricity black-out and I had not finished packing). The front-desk staff were all very friendly and helpful and the free car parking was a bonus. Whilst I am not a tourist having been born in Tassie but now from Queensland, I find the location is especially good being close to the Salamanca Markets, the myriad art galleries, good restaurants, and casual dining (incl. my favourite Brumby's Bakehouse). The "Fresh" Supermarket carries a vast array of Tasmanian produce from flowers, food, wine, local fruits incl. raspberries (yum), and ready made meals for those who want a break from eating out both at lunchtime and for dinner. The Hobart CBD is close by. Lots of places to explore by foot, boat cruises to enjoy, what more could you want?

The weather!! I enjoyed the coolness but was hoping for more sunny days (obviously I have become too acclimatised to Qld)

Very Comfy, Good Layout. Foxtel channels a bonus. Good Wifi. Easy access to Salamanca Place for the markets and Wooden Boat Festival which was on at the time. On site parking cost us $15 per day which was not unreasonable when you consider the convenience of access by foot to so many local attractions.

Reasonably well sized bathroom was not well served by the shower over a very small bath. Access not easy and barely bigger than a hip bath it was neither one nor the other.

Amazing location, very clean, well stocked kitchen (aside from the fact there were only two drinking glasses), washing machine and dryer were great, beds were comfy and rooms were huge! Very comfortable couch too.

Didn't know if room was being serviced? Wasn't clear. Also, wasn't clear what to do with household waste. We had no option but to stack up drink cans and pizza boxes and leave them behind (didn't feel right), but the BIGGEST issue was the size of the allocated car space. We had a rental car (Skoda Kodiaq) and we had to park it across the road under the hotel and then wheel our suitcases over. It was fine as the weather was good but if it was raining it would be a major issue. The car space allocated to us was way too small.

The room was lovely. I did have issues checking in. I know it was full but was not impressed. I had the paperwork, the reservation number. I did the booking through booking.com. I booked it in my name but for some reason ( I did add my partner's name to the booking). It turned out the booking was in his name not mine, but all the paperwork was in my name. I even had the room number in a message. She said I don't know what you can do- my reply is no I don't know what you are going to do. Not very helpful. The room was very cold despite putting on the heater. We had to go down and ask reception and it was reset immediately . The bar was very nice and great service, the food for breakfast was excellent.
