What a gem of a hotel! We were made to feel very welcome by the publican and staff. The hotel is very central to the town and has a friendly, welcoming feel. The accommodation refurbishments offer very comfortable, clean and modern amenities. It was also very quiet overnight. We had dinner in the bistro and found the menu to be quite extensive and the food delicious. The hotel definitely offered great value for money and would recommend it to anyone travelling through the area.
There were no negatives!

The location in the town was excellent - in the main street with restaurants and genaral stores a few steps away - and the location within a 50km distance in the region was very excellent for sightseeing - even a 100km drive to Echuca to the West was an hour away and to Tocumwal and Yarrawonga to the East being equally close. The significance and benefit of having a stay in a quiet township was made clear when visiting the larger town centres nearby which were over-crowded and a hustle and bustle. The Telegraph Hotel provided a very good Dinner meal and even though there was no breakfast option there was a fantastic Bakery and Cafe next door which did.
The only minor issue, which is common with most accommodation bookings, is that you don't get any idea about exactly which room you are going to get until you get there - and whether there is a view or a brickwall out your window. Another point to make is that the rooms are upstairs with access only via semi-steep stairways.

Very clean, modern, comfortable rooms right in the middle of town in walking distance to most things. I would confidently book and stay with the Telegraph hotel again.
Rooms are up flights of steep stairs, which make it difficult if you've got a knee or back injury, heavy luggage, or just had a big night on the town. Also, being directly above a bar means that sometimes the local night-life can be heard in the rooms until late hours on the weekend.

The refurbishment was lovely and the hotel is very clean and comfortable with a central location in the town. Welcoming, friendly staff. Manager offered to carry our suitcases up the stairs when we arrived as there was no lift. The staircase is beautiful. He showed us where to go so that we could use the back stairs after hours. We ordered dessert and manageress offered us room service for it which was great.
One coffee mug had not been cleaned properly and was replaced when mentioned to staff. Otherwise, everything was wonderful and we would come again. Note that rooms are upstairs but staff will carry luggage for you. Not suitable if people have a problem walking up stairs.

The rooms are clean, well decorated with everything you need. Tea and coffee facilities are great and there are nice mugs to make your coffee in. Bed is comfortable, check in is easy and even though you are on the main street, it is quiet. Staff are friendly and meals downstairs are great.
I think it would be good to have some instructions in the folder on how to use tv.

Staff at Hotel were very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable and clean. Bed also very comfy. En suite new and spacious. Food and service at Hotel also very good. Lots of easy parking at rear. I would stay here again.
The shower tap has been plumbed up the wrong way,( I'm a plumber). Hot water should always be on the left. Room 4 if the management read this. The wife couldn't work it out so I had jump in the shower with her. So not all bad.

Great location. Friendly and helpful staff and owners. Clean and fresh. Great value for money. Good food in bistro.
Main bedroom has no window and felt a bit claustrophobic but offset somewhat by height of ceiling (maybe 4 metres) and skylight. Maybe the hotel could provide breakfast bowls and spoons.

Queen room. Compact with only a plastic chair. Therefore just sat on the bed. Good size ensuite. A/C struggled with the freezing conditions. Coped better second night. No noise from the pub below but some from the street. Had dinner in the pub. Usual pub fare. Had breakfast at the bakery next door.. Comfortable bed and pillows.
Room really a bit too small. Suited us OK. Used the pub as a base to go to Melbourne and back in the day.

the staff were super friendly and so helpful! I needed feminine hygiene products desperately at night time and no where was open and the girls at the bar were so happy to help! sounds like a silly thing but the girls will get it. The rooms were so spacious and very clean! bathrooms were so clean as well!!

Was a great location in the centre of town, with supermarket and other shops very close by. Our rooms were well appointed and recently refurbished. Also the rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Friendly hotel staff too.
I found the stairs a bit of a challenge. So I would not recommend for the elderly or those with mobility issues.
